Great reaction, I even felt your reaction to his couch story ..... and then to Brian's singing with every ounce of his heart and soul. The silence of the crowd for those second was actually deafening.
Every time I hear his mom describe how he was treated makes me lose it. I literally cry every time. Not being able to protect your child from pain has to be hard. Luckily, he had support at home and was able to turn his pain into motivation.
i start crying before she says it, just knowing whats coming. It's an ugly, ugly word. It's the word i heard over and over as i was being kicked and beaten unconscious in an alley. The fact that it touched you, Melanie PopKel, tells me what a caring person you are. God Bless and Be Safe.
Great reaction. I must also point out that the bullying in schools now is so much worse. Nowadays the bullying is done on social media. It's so sad that the parents of the bullies allow this to happen.
Breathe man, breathe. LOL Everybody unconsciously lets out their breath with him as if they are singing too, and begins to go blue. Notice the silence. Usually there's a lot of audience noise but there's total silence while he's singing, and for several beats after he's done. That silence is telling.
No matter what Brian sings, it is not only pulls you in with what ever song he sings... HE ALSO MAKES YOU FEEL EVERY WORD WITH UTTER PASSION!!!!! LOVE HIM SO!!!!
Brian came in 4th. But it put him on the map. That performance was breathtaking. Like you said, the lead up story and the comments of the judges afterward, were perfect bookends to the song itself. That is what you do for us. You help tell the story of these songs you are reacting to. And you are very good at it. Thanks again.
He punches you right in the heart. He is so riveting. When he opened up and sang full on, it is like a transformation. I watched your face and you could see all the emotions run across your face. Thanks for this reaction.
This guy sent chills up and down my spine. He didn't just sing this song, he felt this song, and lived a life full of hate, which makes it all the more special. Thanks, Shawn!
5 full, very full, seconds. That's how long it takes THOUSANDS of people to catch their breath, to come out of the trance BJC put them into. I've seen this video many times. It still puts me into the same trance as everyone else. Never fails. Great reaction, and I'm glad you've seemed to have fixed your audio. I like being able to hear your comments, too.
Isn’t that the best - you just don’t want to breathe or move or anything - he just transfixed us with his singing. I love, love, love this performance! I’m glad you enjoyed it!!
GREAT REACTION. We all go through life feeling inadequate at times, or not good enough. In addition, we spend much of our lives, wanting to be ACCEPTED. Creep draws out an emotional response from us.
He cast a spell over that room...and you! Immense talent! If you read the notes on Rise, you'll see what the reason for that recording was. Bravo for your support!
This is the exact same way I was introduced to Brian Justin Crum. I watched Superfruit's Rise, and had to look at the other artists offerings. I saw this one had the most views so I picked it. I could not move. He was captivating.
He should have won, I have to take a deep breath when I hear him sing creep. He's actually feeling it. He's an amazing singer and I have become a big fan. He's going to go far. We'll done Justin x
Thanks Shawn - I've probably seen this a thousand or so times and it still breaks me when his mum is talking about how he was treated in school. Imagine if that had become too much for him and we didn't get to witness how great of a vocalist Brian is ? Just remarkable - hopefully you'll get to watch some of his videos, they really are awesome. Superfruit just invited Brian, Mario and Mary to feature on Rise as a tribute to the lives lost in the Orlando Pulse nightclub shooting. Brian did Someone to love (Queen) as his audition - he did Something in the Air (Phil Collins) Everybody wants to rule the world, Man in the Mirror. They brought him back for AGT Champions a couple of years ago and he got to the finals but that show was won by Shin Lim who is an extraordinary magician/illusionist. Brian performed some amazing songs on this show too, he is so good.
This performance chokes me up every time and always puts me on the edge of tears. The look on Shawn's face during that entire performance. Shawn, either you are a great actor or you had some really serious thoughts happening. Love your reactions. Unfortunately, he did not win. He was a finalist, but lost. He was by FAR the best on that season. But the public is fickle.
Grace VanderWaal won AGT in 2016! I love Brian Justin Crum. Grace Vanderwaal is also talented as hell, she has a stunning voice and she sung four originals on AGT. Her songs are incredible good! And she is 16 years old!
Love Brian Justin Crum! You should really check out his cover of Your Song by Elton John which he sang on AGT: The Champions in 2019. He definitely does it justice!
He came in 4th!!!! He was robbed! He was born to sing. His SuperFruit collaboration on Rise, I think got him far more exposure. Sometimes winning, they give you terrible contracts. Like Pentatonix, they won but were dropped and when they got a new deal, it was more lucrative to them.
Another of Scott and Mitch's friends, Vincent Canady, also does a wonderful rendition of Creep (on another competition show). It's worth a look as well. Vincent actually appears in 2 or 3 Superfruit videos as a background character.
One of my two favorite performances of this song. He is mesmerizing. My other favorite is by Postmodern Jukebox featuring Haley Reinhart. If you aren't familiar with PMJ, they are totally worth checking out.
I like how you speak from the heart and don't care how some people will respond to what you just said out loud about how bullies make life hard for people that are different, not only people that are gay but are just different in some way and for your honesty I did hit the subscribe button, Thank you
His first two performances on AGT were his best. His audition was Queen's "Somebody to Love" and "Creep." I think the reason that he placed fourth in the finals was because of his song choices after those two. They were good, but not exactly songs that i think the voters liked. It was risky and didn't exactly pay off. However, he was asked back to AGT Champions and had two performances there; performing Sir Elton John's "Your Song" and "Never Enough" from The Greatest Showman. Both of which were amazing renditions.
You might want to check out a new song by Brian and Matt Bloyd, a duet called "Tell Him", a cover of the Celine Dion - Barbra Streisand original. Totally beautiful and a powerful performance. Brian is doing very well these days, and deservedly so. btw: Love your reactions.
Paralyzed. That's it. And like someone previously said, it's mesmerizing. I've no idea how many dozens (scores? hundreds?) of times I've seen this, and I still find myself unable to move while Brian's singing. Like Howie. Like some of the people in the audience. (Not his mom. She was just so smug--in a good way!--because her boy was finally showing everybody who he is.) That L-o--o-o-ng silence at the end before the audience exploded in applause tells its own story. Bit of trivia: Did you notice that BJC wears the same jacket in the "Rise" video as he's wearing here?
everyone in the audience and judges looked the same way,no body moved, and when he was finished, you could have heard a pin drop.Howie was tripping on that performance as well.
Brian is soo amazing...was very sad that he finished 4th. BUT, I wonder how many 'video hits' #1-2-3 got? Probably not 19 million. Hope somebody signs him to a deal...I was exactly like u in school and went through the same thing. God bless u my brother!!!!
Just an honest, genuine, shit from the heart reaction to an incredible talent that made you uncomfortable due to its purity of emotion and love. Congrats on of it.
I was watching a vocal coach react to this video and she said that if singers want to be on these types of shows they have to have something what she called "couch time" basically they should have some sort of compelling story to share to make it a little more dramatic. it is heart wrenching though when people are bullied because they are different. heck, I'm gay but I didn't have the luxury of coming out until I was in my mid-20's. The struggle is real for sure.
Shawn, watching you during the performance... you were in shock, and were squinting, holding back the tears? You had to shake your head to to clear your thoughts. BJC has an amazingly strong emotional voice. He moves people with his strong persona. Bullying has always been, I was bullied from grade school in the mid-sixties until high school in the seventies, and in the military in the ‘80s. Weak, fearful people always bully others to hide their own feelings of inadequacies. When they realize that they’re just as much a victim to someone else’s bullying, they sometimes also rise above the fear and become stronger and more accepting. When people realize that they are worthy of being loved, and can love themselves even with their faults and shortcomings, love will become their driving force instead of fear and hate.
Usually, a trek thru the upper ranges, initiates applause. But the audience stayed silent. Nobody wanted to miss the next note. Forget the masters about the end. Realize the audience was spellbound until the end.
BJC....my favorite singer. All four of his performances toward the quarterly, semi-finals and finals of the 2016 AGT Show were outstanding and challenging. His interpretations are, in my opinion, better than the originals. Listen to his vocal range, as he pours his emotions into his song. He has a special gift of vocal production, range and quality. He uniquely combines performing and singing. He is at home on stage. It is a moment of genius. He captures the listener, and allows one to share all his emotions which he pours out in song. He takes one into his heart, we share a moment, as he touches the soul. The experience leaves one.... stunned. Simon said his performances, for him, were breathtaking. He combined performing and singing and he was already a Champion, as well as an outstanding singer and performer. A very beautiful compliment from Simon.... I feel that only a rare time, on life's journey, do we experience this kind of artistic impact. His singing and performing skills are in the end, a healing balm for the listener who shared the emotions. Brian's voice qualities, interpretations, and stage presence made all the difference. Can't wait to buy some music. Until then Brian, ....May God Continue to Bless You and Yours.
A little 12-year-old girl, singer songwriter won, singing 4 of her originals songs in the competition. 2 magic acts finished 2nd and 3rd. Brian finished 4th.
No, he didn't win. He came in fourth to the surprise of the judges and the audience. The winner was Grace VanderWaal, a 12 year old girl who wrote her own songs and played the ukelele. He did a total of five songs through the season. Aside from "Creep" the best performance was his first audition, covering Queen's "Somebody To Love." Following this performance, he covered Phil Collins' "In the Air Tonight," Tears For Fears' "Everybody Wants To Rule the World" and Michael Jackson's "Man In the Mirror." A couple of years later, he came back for AGT: The Champions where he covered Elton John's "Your Song" and "Never Enough" from The Greatest Showman. As for what he's doing now, I honestly don't know, except that he posts new songs on UA-cam every now and then.
You are one of the Greatest reactions I have Ever seen!! You were Definitely captivated! ❤
One of the most captivating performances I've ever seen
Adorable and genuine reaction. I cry every time, I must confess..
This is one of my all time favorites. His performance just grabs you and doesn't let you go. Shook.
I love the brief silence at the end. People were just mesmerized.
Thank you so much for not interrupting him! 😢❤ so very powerful!!
Great reaction, I even felt your reaction to his couch story ..... and then to Brian's singing with every ounce of his heart and soul. The silence of the crowd for those second was actually deafening.
I love your reaction. He was sublime.
You are my favorite by a wide margin with your honest and sincere reactions. Thank you.
It's ok man. It hits everyone who watches it. Excellent rendition.
Every time I hear his mom describe how he was treated makes me lose it. I literally cry every time. Not being able to protect your child from pain has to be hard. Luckily, he had support at home and was able to turn his pain into motivation.
Same
i start crying before she says it, just knowing whats coming.
One of the greatest performances and vocals.
Breathe man, breathe. LOL Everybody unconsciously lets out their breath with him as if they are singing too, and begins to go blue. Notice the silence. Usually there's a lot of audience noise but there's total silence while he's singing, and for several beats after he's done. That silence is telling.
I think everyone is so captivated, they are just waiting for him to continue. Then they suddenly realize 'oh, he's done. clap now'
I try to hold my breath during that whole note, I can’t do it lol
So good! That 2 seconds of silence at the end says everything!
It's actually 6 seconds. Incredible to hold an audience captivated for that long! Just fantastic!
No matter what Brian sings, it is not only pulls you in with what ever song he sings... HE ALSO MAKES YOU FEEL EVERY WORD WITH UTTER PASSION!!!!! LOVE HIM SO!!!!

Shawn face was priceless 😍😂
He punches you right in the heart. He is so riveting. When he opened up and sang full on, it is like a transformation. I watched your face and you could see all the emotions run across your face. Thanks for this reaction.
Unbelievable. Truly amazing
Shawn- Your reactions were as special as Brian's performance ! Glad that you placed this on your channel and best of luck to you.
This guy sent chills up and down my spine. He didn't just sing this song, he felt this song, and lived a life full of hate, which makes it all the more special. Thanks, Shawn!
This is my all time favorite performance of Brian Justin Crum. He is totally amazing!!! Thank for true emotion.
I loved watching your expression as he was singing. I could tell you were mesmerized.
Its my favorite Creep rendition for sure
5 full, very full, seconds. That's how long it takes THOUSANDS of people to catch their breath, to come out of the trance BJC put them into. I've seen this video many times. It still puts me into the same trance as everyone else. Never fails.

Isn’t that the best - you just don’t want to breathe or move or anything - he just transfixed us with his singing.
I love, love, love this performance! I’m glad you enjoyed it!!
Shawn has such a sweet disposition and face. Just felt like saying that. He (Brian) did the Queen song Somebody to Love that was pretty good too.
He did an awsome job with Somebody To Love
GREAT REACTION. We all go through life feeling inadequate at times, or not good enough. In addition, we spend much of our lives, wanting to be ACCEPTED. Creep draws out an emotional response from us.
Hang in there Shawn...its worth the wait
Thanks dude from California
He cast a spell over that room...and you! Immense talent! If you read the notes on Rise, you'll see what the reason for that recording was. Bravo for your support!
How do they keep THAT inside !??? And just be a regular Dude. BEAUTIFUL touches your SOUL xxxxx
I really appreciate the honesty and sincerity of your reaction. You definitely are one of my favorites, Shawn.
This is the exact same way I was introduced to Brian Justin Crum. I watched Superfruit's Rise, and had to look at the other artists offerings. I saw this one had the most views so I picked it. I could not move. He was captivating.
Great reaction!
Great 'stunned reaction here - Thank you! I loved his AGT cover of Queen's "Somebody to love". Could you react to this performance please?
I have to have words but he sings with passion
Not sure I've ever seen a more honest reaction. Looked like a lot going on in that brain as you watched it. Very powerful, thanks
He should have won, I have to take a deep breath when I hear him sing creep. He's actually feeling it. He's an amazing singer and I have become a big fan. He's going to go far. We'll done Justin x
Nobody sings that song like Brian❤

Your eyes and and brows told me what you thought of him singing . It said it all
One of the best reactions I've ever seen of this song. He got 4th if you can believe it. If I could afford it you would be my first patreon to follow.
A great reaction, you just sat there an absorb it. That was proper in my books. Well done.
Brian held everybody spellbound.
GREAT reaction brother!
Thanks for another great reaction:-)
Love it so much! I’m a few of those 16M views 😂
BJC awesome ❤️ Keep it up

I really enjoyed this reaction from you. :)
Congrats to almost 2k!
I had precisely the same reaction...
BJC is incredible
Best AGT performance EVER
Another of Scott and Mitch's friends, Vincent Canady, also does a wonderful rendition of Creep (on another competition show). It's worth a look as well. Vincent actually appears in 2 or 3 Superfruit videos as a background character.
This. Look for “the Four”
One of my two favorite performances of this song. He is mesmerizing. My other favorite is by Postmodern Jukebox featuring Haley Reinhart. If you aren't familiar with PMJ, they are totally worth checking out.
Breathtakingly beautiful he came in 4th, no superfruit is only Scott and mitch
Superfruit is Scott and Mitch but they did Rise with Brian as well as Mario Jose and Mary Lambert.
I like how you speak from the heart and don't care how some people will respond to what you just said out loud about how bullies make life hard for people that are different, not only people that are gay but are just different in some way and for your honesty I did hit the subscribe button, Thank you
not a sound through the entire performance in that whole audience even seconds after just silence I am in awe of this performance
Should have won - world class.
That pause before the audience reacts tells it all
His first two performances on AGT were his best. His audition was Queen's "Somebody to Love" and "Creep." Steve ray vaughn. Pride and joy

I agree. That was Tara. She was a contestant on American Idol herself. So she knows the routine.
Not often you hear that sort of "raptness" during a performance. You could had heard a pin drop in that place.

Everyone always touts this performance b/c of the "feels". However, his first performance was just as remarkable.
Usually, a trek thru the upper ranges, initiates applause. But the audience stayed silent. Nobody wanted to miss the next note. Forget the masters about the end. Realize the audience was spellbound until the end.
Shawn, you get more and more handsome evertime i see you. Stop It!!!
George was just a guest judge for one night. They do that on occasion on AGT.

You should listen to Bryan's covers for "man in the mirror" and "never enough". He is just awesome!
A little 12-year-old girl, singer songwriter won, singing 4 of her originals songs in the competition. 2 magic acts finished 2nd and 3rd. Brian finished 4th.
Only Brian Justin Crum could do CREEP BETTER than Radiohead!! George Lopez was doing a guest apperance. Thank u for u r reaction!!

❤ ❤ ❤

Agt kristen Cruz sings I see red.. 5 million hits in 5 days
You could hear a pin drop at the end of that. He reminds me of George Michael.
PLEASE react to Home Free!!PLEASE!!!❤
Brian's version is good....However, if you want the best version of this song it is Post Modern Jukebox ft. Haley Reinhart. It will blow your mind.
Please react to Superfruits 2 Hip Hop Goes Broadway videos!!
He got you, didn't he?
