There’s always something sad about a dismantled railway almost as if it’s waiting and hoping that trains will return one day. These rural lines were a vital part of the everyday life of the community in many areas. I remember when our line was closed in mid wales the enormous impact on the older children of our area leaving us with a 3.5 to4 mile each way cycle ride to high school . No joke in winter time.
Lovely video , I'm as surprised as you to see some boats up there , it's a pity they could'nt dredge it , so small boats could get up there . Thanks for sharing .
I didn’t even know that bit of the broads existed ! With the Nast down how far could I navigate from Wroxham in a 27ft sailing cruiser ? I’ll be there sailing for 10 days from 4th June. Counting the days down
I could not recommend it at this stage. I think a kayak or dinghy is about all that could handle it at the moment. Oddly enough there is a sign at the Wayford Bridge entrance stating no motorcraft but that is not a legal request and is nonsense as you have every right to navigate tidal waterways by boat. The only part that you can access is Wayford to Honing and that would have to be a canoe. Those boats filmed were at Tonnage Bridge and they could not go any further up.
Definitely a great day out exploring and a good memory.

Go under Beccles bridge and Geldeston lock is the end of the line
