  • Today we're frying chicken and we're doing it estilo Dominicano... Dominican Style. What does that even mean? It means that we're seasoning the chicken with adobo, lime, vinegar and more to create crispy delicious wings.
    For this recipe you'll need:
    1-2lbs of Chicken Wings
    1 Lime
    1/8 cumin
    1tsp sazon or paprika
    1tsp oregano
    1 1/2 tbsp vinegar
    1 1/2 tsp adobo
    1tsp onion powder
    1tsp garlic powder
    1/2 tsp black pepper
    Directions:
    1. Season your chicken wings with all of your ingredients
    2. Fill skillet halfway with oil and warm up on medium flame
    3. Once hot, add your chicken wings making sure not to overcrowd your pot
    4. When your chicken wings are golden and crispy place them on a baking tray and bake at 425 degrees until you've fried the rest of your chicken. This will keep your chicken wings warm and crispy.
    5. Drizzle fresh lime juice at the end and enjoy!
    If you want to skip the baking process then simple fry your chicken all the way through. You may have to lower the flame so that they don't burn. Enjoy! Buen provecho.

    I heard the crunch. I just discovered your channel and I’m so grateful that you are keeping “Hispanic” cooking alive with fresh ingredients. No matter which region we are from. Your cooking mirrors many of my dishes and it’s a relief and an inspiration there are many of us who still take the extra steps to keep our traditions alive and not take short cuts which IMHO has lead to lazy cooking. Thank you for existing and having this great appreciation for our cultural cooking. We all relate cause food is universal, even if the process may differ, the end results are the same. Traditional Hispanic, good tasting food made from the heart with our ancestors front and center. They taught us and in return we do the same - keeping us and our way alive! Many thanks, and you’ve gained a new fan! ❤️❤️❤️

      @@N3ssa212Linda just because they speak the same language doesn't mean the cooking styles are the same. Because you have to realize dominicans are intertwined with African culture. I meant no harm or insult to anyone.

      @@fish_fry7 again what is your point ? .
      You’re educating me?
      I’m latina I know many Dominicans are. And?Again it doesn’t matter African or not Hispanics and Latinos are mixed of many races.
      You know that right?
      So that’s an old fact.
      Why your comment does not matter is that Almost all Latinos use the same spices . Just a different process . Again I agree with the main comment the man said above you . Thank you Chef see for appreciating traditional Hispanic cultural cooking.

    I am a product of a Puerto Rican mother, Cuban father and Spanish(Spaniard) Grandparents and not once growing up (i'm 70) was cumin ever a spice in any of our recipes. my father worked 25 years in restaurant industry too. Not till I started watching UA-cam was this a spice I ever heard of or would use.

    • @Chefzeecooks

      Believe it or not, many of us boil our chicken first. Set it aside & pat it dry. Let it sit until completely dry before you fry/bake it. It will already be fully cooked from the inside, so no more bleeding or pink on the inside.

    • @Chefzeecooks
      @Chefzeecooks  7 років тому +3

      You can definitely use bottle lemon juice. The flavor will still be pretty good. I do this whenever I don't have fresh limes in the house or when the limes are too expensive at the store. If you use drumsticks and put in the oven, just know that they will take a while to cook. I recommend roasting them covered at 375 for about 20 minutes so that they're juicing and then increasing it to 425 uncovered so that they crisp up. In total they should roast for about 45 minutes. I hope this helps!

    • @Chefzeecooks
      @Chefzeecooks  5 років тому +2

      I leave it on and it makes the chicken extra cripsy. However, if you use the big drumstick feel free to take it off. The decision is yours. With the bigger pieces of chicken, I like to remove the skin sometimes because it helps create less of a mess.

    Do you marinate your chicken before hand

    • @Chefzeecooks
      @Chefzeecooks  7 років тому

      Yep!!! As a rule of thumb, I usually marinate any meat for at least 1 hour before cooking. If you don't have time, no worries it's not the end of the world :) Food will still be delicious

    im surprised she dont use the goya sazonador total because allot of DR fried chicken be having that but I guess everyone has their own way of doing it, I know some even use ginger or ginger powder and or small amount of mustard but anyway I wish they had a Dominican restaurant here in California you know.

      I don’t use Goya products or support the company 🥰 I haven’t for years which is why I don’t include them in my cooking. I also think that cooking and recipes are allowed to evolve with time. Thanks for watching 🥳

    What do you mean by sazon?

    • @Chefzeecooks
      @Chefzeecooks  7 років тому

      When I say Sazon, I’m referring to the Goya Sazon achiote Packets. They’re pretty easy to find. If you don’t have Sazon available near you, powdered achiote and even paprika will do.

    The only thing I don't understand is you use something called "adobo" but never show it. Is the "adobo" Adobo powder by Goya? If so, which one because I believe they have more than one flavor of adobo powder.

    • @Chefzeecooks
      @Chefzeecooks  5 років тому

      Unless otherwise started, I use the regular adobo. I don't like any of the flavored ones like the lemon-pepper ones etc...
