This has the same energy of a kid playing make believe with a toy car and riding it along various surfaces in his mom's house and narrating what's going on. I love it.
Then the red car will go through "THE WASHING MACHINE-NATOR" and fight the blue car in "MT. TOILET SEATER" and this will be the world's most epic CAR FIGHT
do you think there's a tiny Matt in city skylines whose an Engineer as well, traveling this to work everyday, til eventually he'll become a youtube channel playing a cities skylines for everybody in Engintopia that has another tiny Matt in that game doing the same thing, and so on, and so on.. The same for my parents, but instead of ferries they had skis made of wooden planks. Instead of roller coaster, they had wolf ridden mountains to pass by foot (or by skis). The roads? eh... The highway was a path.
Luxury. My parents had to wake up half an hour before they went to sleep, then after a meal of red hot, smoking magma, they had to make this journey crawling on their bellies in the snow. Then they'd gave to work a 28 hour day, paying their boss royalties for the previlage of working there. Then when they got home, their father would murder them in cold blood, then bury them and dance on their graves singing "Yes Sir, I Can Boogie"
Matt: "We will make the commute to work F U N :)" The people that now have to get up at 2 in the morning to get to their 9 to 5 job: "Yayyyyyyyyy...... *loud sighing*"
I mean, you can get two hours of sleep at best. Assuming a 7 hour commute time, leaving exactly at 5 PM, you'd return at midnight, giving you two hours to sleep (neglecting everything else, of course).
You know I just love the entire journey so much The 20 Mile drive through low visibility roads 10 mph track that goes up and down and all around Constant anxiety from almost tipping over while the ferry attempts to climb a mountain And then finally a drive to my job at the fish stick factory... I'm fired? For being 3 days late?? Well at least it's a fun commute home
I hated commuting until I got a job in the city I actually lived in and could ride my bike. Now I miss the 8 mile round trip bike ride every day when the weather is nice. But man whenever I have to travel for work now ( remote with some onsite travel ) I hate getting stuck in highway traffic. I couldn't imagine going back to the daily 45 minute to 1.5 hour drive I did right out of college.
The car park designed by an architect reminded me of how my dad always used to get mad about badly designed/tiny parking spaces, he'd complain they were designed by idiots that never used cars. He was an engineer for Renault, that may be why I enjoy your engineering content so much Matt, keep up the good work and thanks for making me reminisce 😁👍
Day 4 of asking Matt to play The Last Clockwinder. Also quick question. Did you, as a civil engineer, ever work on lake quality and removing Blue-green algae from lakes in the states? Blue-green algae is all over North America and I wonder if you have ever designed a process to remove the toxic algae :)
Good question actually. Every now and then my mind tends to always return to this topic. A lot of people don't really realize how destructive the stuff is to its surrounding ecosystem.
@@smilemore1997 I feel you, not just the ecosystem but the tourists, naturalists, scientists, and even the people who live around these lakes are affected. I know every summer that for a certain amount of time I can't go swimming or boating cause I'll literally be in contact with a neurotoxin. It kills fish and plants, and even pets and children who play in contaminated water. It's a serious issue
The cities skylines and timberborn videos are by far the best content you put out. PLEASE do more! Also huge shoutout to the editors for this episode. Had me rolling the whole time
I’d love to see you do some more timberborn challenges. There’s some fun ones people have been doing and I’d love to see how you would engineer some ideas
The finish line bit of the road might be too close to the archway so it counts as attaching to it Would be fun until you realize you have to pay the city to get your car back across the racetrack
Seeing the arch show up out of nowhere almost completely just sobered me up Nobody mentions that thing, it always gets forgotten despite being kind of cool
I have deep respect for civil engineers... As a chemical engineer, if you mess up you and everyone within the affected area dies. Civil engineers have the (concrete) element of surprise.
6:10 "All roller coasters have been engineered to perfection just to give the illusion of being unsafe." Ahh, you've probably never watched the many, many episodes of Defuctland that show just how unsafe they like to make 'em XD
This makes me wonder, what would a map made in a co-op with Josh from Lets Game It out, would look like....I bet people would be "Run" for the fun, especially the architects.
Oh! Well excuse me! When you bring a dog to work it's all fine and dandy, but when it's a giant cat, suddenly it's "weird" and "that's a cougar" and "this is a dangerous wild animal" eesh, the double standards!
Hey guys! How long have you been watching RCE, I wish I watched him from the very start but I joined when he had 370k followers, I think? His videos are still funny and always a pleasure to watch.
This whole video is a product of architecture, just take a ferry directly from the houses to the land of work and build an efficiently shaped highway from the ferry stop to the work
For some reason UA-cam has stopped recommending your videos on my feed. But that won't stop me, I have been watching you daily for like 6 months and I'm not about to stop.
They just dropped Cities Remastered on Game Pass and I'm in love all over again. Plus they fixed the achievements too. Have a 150k city and didn't get half the achievements I should've while playing without cheat/mods.
12 years.. time flies by. With all the reboots surely we are catching up with The Doctor at this point. Cant wait for the content Dan, take care and see you in the shorts!
A roller coster to work, who doesnot love that, it's thrilling. I love it when he posts Cities:Skylines content, the game was out in 2015 yet he finds a new way to enjoy this game 😂😂
Matt doesn't just HATE commuting, he hates it with a passion . That's why he finds rather satanic way to torture little AI citizens in cities skylines. Absolute great banter for my entertainment
Wait a min, I think I'd enjoy going to work of this was my commute! Sitting at red lights is what ends me, you need to do nothing but red light after red light next time.. lol.
RCE’s fantasy commute: I’m giving this ideal commute a 0 out of 10 for insufficient murder and no underwater tunnels where you can look out at the fish swimming by on your way to work. Commute review.
I think the train would have dropped faster if you didn't have the top tracks set to slow, which resulted in the back of the train being slow down. As for the water slide, more water would have helped.
Here's the other commute I made: ua-cam.com/video/u8kQg1OsRt8/v-deo.html
@realcivilengineer Mate, why do you draw knobs like they have whiskers???? 🤣
Figure of 8 no its figure-8 love your work though!

True! I'm loving it too
Not the dad's house?
Matt hated commuting so much that he now takes revenge on little AI's in city skylines to make their lives hell. Love it.

@@electroncat AI's
@@KylerHayes No, it is "AIs", "AI's" is grammatically incorrect and is a common mistake.
That's the exact route my parents took to get to school. But for them it was uphill both ways.

I truly hope Biffa uploads his own video fixing this map lol

Watching this I think Matt may either be secretly a architect or he has been taken over by one cause his planning is madness and gerbils!!!
There is only one difference between architects and civil engineers. Civil engineers want to build crazy stuff that works
I want to go on something more thrilling than "Go Karts 1".
"Railway 1" looks too Intense for me!
This park is really clean and tidy.
"Waterslide 1" was great.
