      Elon says alot of B.S. Pretty much all that comes out his mouth or posted to his social media platforms is Giberish. It reemains unclear if he is a complete idiot ,or just a hibitual liar. It is Mathematically imposible for starlink to ever be profitable. 90 percent of the worlds population already has access to better and cheaper services, and the supposed 5 year life span per cube sat has so far averaged under 2 years.

    I can't believe all the haters leaving their comments. I have watched the rocket story since the first days the USA tried to get a rocket to fly. A lot of disappointments. But a lot of successes as well. I still watch as many launches and space flight stories as I can. The day the boosters landed side by side after the Falcon Heavy launch of Starman was amazing. The views reminded me of the old TWA rocket at Disneyland, only this was real. I have no idea of how many launches and attempts I have watched, but never in person. I do hope that I can see one launch in person and check that off of my bucket list.

The space x starship could provide that all in one cargo lift for them ,like explained. Surely you should use starships as the basis for future space stations. 3, 4, 5 starships joined together, ala a star, joined at the centre by a module that can take regular "feeder" deliveries by other starships. Bases on the moon could be built quickly the same way, by connecting starships horizontaly, side by side. Wife other starships in orbit around the Moon, or Mars. can you imagine what a dozen starships and a nuke engine or 2 in space could do? You could keep an acceleration vector relatively close to mars gravity vector with the help of the nuke engines, and the sharships can land and take off, help with high-g maneuvers, and serves as a passenger area. extra fuel and supplies can also be strapped to nuke thrusters so that starships can potentially take multiple trips to get stuff from orbit. This is particularly true if you have a servicing station on the surface of mars. I hope this is the plan.

      and nuke rockets have gone nowhere, but we don't need tests to tell us they have the energy density for constant acceleration.

    It seems the point-to-point delivery Starship would have to be considered expendable. Once it lands, it is stuck there unless it can be refueled. This assumes that lighting 6 V-Raptor plus 3 SL- Raptor engines does not create so much debris and shrapnel that it destroys itself at ignition. Assuming that problem can be resolved, even then, it will be a single stage configuration with limited range. Net is, I do not understand how the system would be better than a fleet of C-17's

    Reduce the time to get to Mars by having one of two solid fuel busters in orbit that can be attached to the star ship and add more power to reduce eight months to as little as two months maybe even less. How they are dealt with after getting to Mars could easily be worked out. Getting the busters to space? Easy. How? Several ways that would take up a bit to much space on this post.

    it's not as much about number of launches as it is cost per kg and reusability. Falcon isn't 100% reusable.

    Really I thought it was a replacement for airforce one! In case of W.W.I.I.I president is safer orbiting moon.
    Star ship make moon base. For congress incase of W.W.I.I.I so several star ships needed.

    In Tesla's case, that's RoboTaxi. For SpaceX, it's StarLink.

    I would love it if spacex would try to bring the ISS back to earth instead of letting it burn in the atmosphere and be dumped in the pacific. What to do with the ISS when it is back? Make it a part of a space exploration and scientific museum. I would even go there if it was built in the us, don't care about the 8 hour flight.

    Convert a starship to garbage truck and pick up all the space debris. Reuse debris for station spare parts and bring back the rest. Would not surprise me that Musk has a multiple starship design for Mars.

    If there were more landing pads around the world, would Starship need to be used to transport people point-to-point? Could they use an F9 with something like a dragon (probably would want more space to put people in) to get people across the world? Would scaling down to an F9 (versus a Starship booster) help with the stated noise issue and still get people high enough to come down on the other side of the earth?

    • @babyUFO.
      @babyUFO. 2 роки тому

      F9's size doesn't make intercontinental travel economical enough. It's just too small.

    12:50 Military using it as a transport? Begs the question what would they do with it once it landed? Starship can't take off without a booster. It would just be one big target saying (here I am, come blow me up!).
