What do you use to keep the clutch cover (I believe the metal might be magnesium) clean? I have a monster 821 and my swing arm and covers are black from road grime and dirt instead of that gold color at 12K mi and I clean it often. Thx, and I love the channel!
Jeremy Steadman I use motul chain clean on the chain, swing arm, engine covers, mufflers, aluminum parts, and any chain lube residue on the tail underside. It’s safe for paint but test an area before using. After that, I use another motul product called shine and go on all parts including wheels. Smells like a Fruity Pebbles. I use eagle one detailer for the tank and fairings. BTW Do not get brakleen anywhere on your bike and don’t use other brand chain cleaners on your paint. It dissolves the clear-coat.
Thanks Fancy Animal! Love the channel.
How many miles now? Can you do an update and all service stuff? Thanks 🍻
Thanks FA, been watching your channel since I bought my 1299s, always interesting and entertaining
The force is strong with this one. Does your hand cramp-up in traffic with that beefy clutch?
Fancy Animal the clutch is super light and easy to use. Just please use the correct liquid and change it annualy
Can’t say I’ve ever noticed it but then again I’m old and remember laverda jotas....
Kids bed wetting pads are great for catching and containing small spills drips etc when doing oil changes.
I’m shocked that insurance didn’t total your bike out. Good vid as usually man.
They totaled it and gave me a big chunk of dough to keep it.
You know, what? I’ve been actually waiting for your next vid)
I have this cover installed and I don’t like how hot it gets during the ride. I would vote for carbon.
Btw why didn’t you buy clear сlutch cover? To make the internals visible.
You're getting a snickers!!
Could you please tell me, what kind of padock stand you are using in this video and where you get it from ?
It's a Pit Bull stand www.revzilla.com/pit-bull-stands
How many miles on Pani now? Love your 22k mile update on bike. Thinking of buying a used 1299 with low miles. Love the style, engine
1299s are getting very reasonable. Try to find a Starbucks queen with low miles through a dealer with a warranty chief. 35,000 on the 1199. No drips.
I'm curious what you're spraying on the bike at the end of the video?
Eagle One Detailer available at Autozone or oh oH OHHH O'Reilly Autoparts.
Another great video as usual. Is this your new locale but still in Okaland?
Ya new place. I live just outside LA now. Oakland was exactly the Book of Eli...had to get out.
Fancy Animal thanks for replying. I saw the video when your van was stolen and it was found after they ran it out of gas.
goutvols103 yup. They even stole my nail clippers and the spare tire. I bought that van in Boston. Drove it around the country for 2 years and sold it back in Boston for what I paid.
why didn't you go for a clear clutch cover ?
hey man, great content! i just want to asl you something.. how did you learn all this things about your bike? i’m headed to getting one, in my country there’s only few ducati services.
and i supposed to to some work on the bike
I design machines for a living and learn through tinkering. But the 1299 forum below has been very helpful. ducatiforum.com/ducati-forums/ducati-1299/
real nice
Whats the sticker, upside down "LA"?
It's says FA - f$ckin' amazing
@@FancyAnimal Careful that some goof-ball doesn't plant a G there...
Hey FA I am looking at getting a 1299S and am wondering how bad the heat actually is on them? Keep hearing people whine and can't tell if they really are so hot you can't ride them or if its overblown and people complain about anything?
Any feedback would be appreciated.
The heat is fine and overblown. It’s hotter than most superbikes by a small margin. It’s nowhere near as hot as the V4 Panigale, and you don’t hear any complaints with that bike. The one area of concern is with the rear subframe screws where your knees touch the vertical cylinder. Those get very hot. I recommend the small heat shield covers for that spot. Test ride it. Bring it to a stop, and let it idle at 200F and see what you think. When you’re moving it’s not an issue.
@@FancyAnimal Thanks FA there isn't one anyone near me to ride so gonna just have to take the plunge! Thanks for taking the time to respond. Ride safe!
Hector Klinger make sure you buy it from a dealer with a warranty. No private sales. If you have to, and it’s a private sale, I wouldn’t buy one with more than 3000 miles.
@@FancyAnimal I figured I would have it gone through prior to purchase if its a Private Seller. Does Ducati offer warranty on used bikes like the 1299?
Hector Klinger yes you may get a third party warrantee but depends on the state. I recommend locating a 1299 at a dealer, and making the long drive to buy the bike there....you get the warrantee and the dealer service record. It’s not a Honda. Think of it like a slightly more dependable Ferrari. It will need service more frequently than a Japanese bike. 2017 or newer has:drift control rider aid. 2015 and 2016 do not. Earlier models also have leaking clutch slave problems. Check both rocker covers for oil leaks. No more than 3000 miles. Other than that, they run fine. Good luck.
For some reason I LOLed at the Mickey mouse part
No idea why I had a Disney pampers box. I don't have kids.
Woooo!!!!
Coool garage...
And now you will be amazed on how to check the freaking oil level)
Hope the bike was insured
How does any normal person afford a nice house in SoCal?
I'm renting. No one here can afford to buy here. Those who buy are mortgaged and loaned to the hilt with 3 jobs and every kind of medication.
Didn’t her insurance fix your bike?
