I started riding a good 8 years before I ever drove a car. I lean around bends in my car seat even though I've now been driving cars for almost 20 years.
Looked like you were getting some serious lean angles...wish you could add that MotoGP style lean angle graph to your videos

You guys should do a video on how to ride at the track for the average viewer. Body position, how you use the bars, braking, etc... Your fans would love that!

Neither bike is something for me, but something about this V2 is just very pure and more "right tool for the job" than the new Streetfighter. It's a looker, too. Looking forward to the review.

I rode the old 959 and wasn't a fan, also didn't like the 1199/1299 too aggressive and the chassis (or lack of) seemed to struggle, I hope they have got it right with this one.
The V4 is amazing so no reason they haven't got this figured out.

How is the camera positioned? This is hands down one of the best on boards I've seen that does a really good job of conveying what it is like to actually ride a bike. I really really like it!
It's on the chin of the helmet... normally on regular track days they won't let you have your camera there... but I guess on press releases you can do it... :)
Wonderful stuff. It must be difficult to talk and ride. I have a helmet with built-in microphone and speakers so might try it one day, but things happen so quickly!

daym... that is a nifty bike. I know the rider is far more important than the bike, but has this got rid of the old Ducati issues that bikes like the Streetfighter 1098 S had? Certainly looks to be more flow than point and shoot!
A fantastic bike, ridden beautifully in it's natural habitat. It's a shame Jase doesn't have one of his own - so he could keep Perkins honest on his flash HP4...

Isn't this just a repackaged L-twin 959? It cracks me up, Ducati was insistent that the old engine was a L-twin, and not a V-twin. Now they want to call this Old engine a V2 (V-twin)?
Seems like a really good package. I'm seriously torn between the Panigale V2 and a Lightning Strike Carbon edition. Not going to be all that much difference in price. Oh well I still have a year before I buy - Never buy a first edition

Panigale owner for 5 years, key position is not a problem, the picture is really distorted, you don’t notice the key at all in reality.
Not sure if I’d trade my 899 for one, not different enough, if it was putting out 165 hp and had the electronic suspension and Brembo M50’s I would have been really tempted, also compared to the original Panigale shape this looks a little boxy and too front heavy, if the front lights get any lower they will be touching the front wheel!!
Far more useful for a road bike than the V4 and also has the right sound for a Ducati, unless the V4 has 5k’s worth of Akrapovic pipes on, it sounds disappointing.
I have to wonder if the price delta between this and the RSV4 you just posted is even worth it. Why not spend the extra 10k or whatever you saved on track time and tires? :)

Ducatis tend to sound especialy bad on camera.
I want to really get a ducati for track. I wish some one would make track bike for 6 to 7 days a year which are few years old. Some thing a working guy can buy and use. No point getting a v2 and spend so much money for a few days of use.

No point sadly. It’s become busier and busier every year, and they let anyone with a camera into press day, so you can’t get any clean footage of the bikes

Very interested to see if this new gen 959 will make a good bike as purely a track toy, first gen small bore Panigales have always interested me for that use.

If you were going to ride mostly on the street would you spend the $17K for the V2 or spend another $3K and get the V4? I'll be buying one or the other this summer. Anyone have thoughts?
