Great video! I have been looking for a video with the upgraded Tucktec. There is a small, calm community lake nearby that is perfect for this. Down the road, I see a Hobie or Old Town in my future, but this will certainly wet my appetite in a manner of speaking until then. I stumbled upon GearPro Guide for the Tucktec info and ended up subscribing for the awesome content! Thanks.
Great to see a review of the newer model Tucktec kayak! I was sold on the portability of these and just got an 8 foot version. I'm not far from the Saint Johns river, but not ready to tackle that just yet...sticking to creeks ad ponds in the area for now 😉
Haha, it handled its own just fine in the St. John’s…wind was kicking so I definitely got a little wet going against the wind and waves, but I would have gotten wet under those conditions in any kayak. Glad you got an 8ft! Let me know how you like it and if you have any questions.
My oru lake has made me more mobile with my car- allowed me to sell my truck and have my kayak for any water body but Once on the water I’m not nearly as mobile as with my SOT kayaks and it’s pretty sad. I used to go so far and feel so strong but I get so fatigued with the oru lake I stay close to where I put in. Def cuts down on my sense of adventure once I get on the water.
Awesome review! Just purchased my first one and am waiting on it to arrive. Definitely looks to have significant improvements from last year's model that I've seen videos of as well. Looking forward to putting it to he test!
Thanks for the great review/overview video. I especially appreciate you pointing out the updated features. I’m seriously looking at foldable kayaks. Debating between the ORU & the Tucktec. For the price point & included features the Tucktec is what I’m leaning towards.
A stadium seat. Thats pretty sweet. I have nice SOT fishing kayaks. But I can't haul them with my 5th wheel. We use an inflatable. But I miss my seats. That looks like the closest Ive seen for an inflatable or fold up
Hey man, yes I’m a fan of seats myself. Allows for a more comfortable and longer ride out on the water for me. I use my Bote Lono inflatable kayak or the Blackfin XL for fishing. Won’t have any problems throwing those in the back of your 5th wheel 😃
Another reason for me to consider a regular kayak as opposed to the origami kayaks ya'll have. I've seen u pump water out of it. Do u have a hole in it
No doubt a regular kayak is the way to go, this option is only for those who want the portability and easy storage option. No hole, this was just a pretty rough day on the water
@@MikeJordanUnCamplicated Thank you sir! That’s weird they are all mostly going to backcountry.com…. I will get that fixed, thank you for letting me know.
Sorry to hear. Did you reach out to them so they can send you another one? I have 2 and have folded and in folded them each about 20 times so far with no issues. Let me know how it goes please
I'm sure if the foam deteriorates we could contact the company and purchase a new seat. You are in the minority and most people are going to appreciate the comfort. This video is very poor in quality. You basically winged the assembly and then sat there and critiqued the kayak and company as if you have any credibility at all after not even knowing whether you were installing the seat and wiring the bungies correctly. I hope the company does not make changes to the seat based on this isolated critique
Nicely done piece. On the St. johns too. That rocks. I right there myself.😃

Sounds like it may be a perfect option for you. Thank you for subscribing.
I live in San Francisco, A block from the bay with a kayak launch. 100% buying this. Made in America and likely more durable than oru, I’m sold.
Awesome man! Let us know how you like it and don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions.
As someone who has owned a kayak from both brands, go with tucktec, you'll be a lot happier in the long run.
Love my Tucktec; highly recommend them!
I have a 2022 model and have done some MAD fishing with it. LOVE IT ......
Nice! I haven’t done much fishing on mine but it’s definitely capable.

how if the comfort level? I go kayaking for long time and the seat doesn't look too comfy?

curious do you think this is a drawback with foldable kayaks in general? do you think inflatable ones would make you feel more confident?

It's good that I see you in the water with boats passing by, which created some waves
Curious, what app do you use to track your speed? Thanks
I use “speedometer” not for any particular reason, I think just because it was one of the first ones I saw that was free.

As a side note, I am also in the market for ebikes. But....your ebike links go to tents, sleeping bags, and full face masks
Thanks for letting me know! Which links where they? The ones on the website or in the UA-cam video description?
@@gearproguide I was clicking on the YT links

Like the tuctek update, the music on this video is loud and volume needs the update.
Thanks I guess how much does it cost
Tucktec kayaks > oru kayaks
Just waited 3 months for my only for one of the folds to break while I’m in the middle of the water. Do not buy this pos

Sorry this happened to you. If you contact customer service they are excellent about making things right; will likely send you a replacement.
