  • The next movie releases that I saw on the weekend have definitely generated diametrically opposite reactions for me! You have #gaslight that is a digital release and a nation wide limited release for a Tamil film, #viduthalai starring #soori and #vijaysethupathi in prominent roles! The #bollywood movie starring #saraalikhan #chitrangdasingh and #vikrantmassey is a mixed bag at best whereas the #vetrimaaran film is a definite stand out! I hope you like the Gaslight Movie Review & Analysis | Sara Ali Khan | Viduthalai Part 1 Movie Review & Analysis | Soori | Vijay Sethupathi | Vetrimaaran

      I agree with you.. this channel has become a pretentious channel and claims to explore regional cinema. Trp just catering for views.
      I have been noticing for a while. Viduthalai got raving reviews since day one release and that's why he jumped on the bandwagon.
      Vetrimaran is back after 3 years and with soori and Vijay. This would have been a ideal choice for a true critic to choose substance. But he went for bhola and dasara.

Vetri merely acknowledged someone else's (parthiban's comment on dhanush's heriosm in asuran, in the tamil director's round table) dig at him still having to give in to the commercial formula to some extent to make a commercially succesful film like asuran. he was pretty happy with asuran over all despite the minor flaws.
      it was the writer/author of asuran's source novel who was super repelled by how vetri adapted his novel. in the novel, the character we're mostly focusing on and seeing the world of asuran through is the younger sibling, not the kid's father, Sivagaami, played by dhanush. Also, the novel overall is far more complex and nuanced than asuran but changes like these are to be expected when adapting something for cinema.

    Finished My Last Board Paper on Friday. Had Lunch with friends and rushed to anupam to watch Viduthalai
    Worth it.
    That Train scene proves you don't need fancy action set pieces or colours to show grandeur.

      I can so relate to this. I have not watched the movie on TV. I watched it on my phone and throughout the entire movie I had my brightness level at the maximum. Many a times I even had to go back to see what the scene was all about because I could not see anything.

    Good to see tamil audience moving towards director oriented than hero. Vetrimaran is the best director who don't need high paid A list actors but still can give a huge impactful cinema. Jealous of Tamilnadu that kollywood owns vetrimaran

    Anmol, I would highly suggest you checkout vettrimaran's every interview if possible(offcourse with subtitles). Once you start watching his interviews then there is no going back. Not just as a movie fan but also lot to learn and grow as a person, consieve things in a better perspective will be the major take away from his interview. On behalf of all the Vetrimaran's fans I can say with confidence we are not only following and anticipated for his movies but to his interviews as well!

    But of course in coolie no 1 and love aaj kal she was terrible! I honestly think she can perform well only at some specific genre just like how arjun can do well in movies like 2 states, Ki and ka but was terrible in movies like Panipat

    Sara is far worse an actress than Janhvi. She appears to imbue her acting by channeling Kareena Kapoor with far less finesse.

    • @marina1607
      @marina1607 Рік тому +1

      Most of the people don't know that Sara is a fan of Kareena which she has said openly admitted in one of her interviews. TBH Sara tries hard to copy Kareena in most of her movies and she miserably fails in it 🤷🏻‍♀️ Sara isn't even a herione material or even talented like Kareena. Sara is just going to be the next Arjun Kapoor of Bollywood.

    Anmol, I totally agree with you… the sheer acting prowess of Vikrant was the only thing which made me sit through till the end of the movie. The story line was weak and I guessed the antagonist within 1/2 hour of the movie.
