I would like to know as well, out of curiosity. Currently there is a perfect line where half the belt is dirty and the half that is closest to the motor is clean, that's noticeable on the green surface. It's like as if only half of the belt is doing most of the work. My recondition, buy a green Gates Belt (There's alot people who work on high performance engines who use them) because I'm not entirely 100% sure if the squeal went away because of adjusting the pully or because of the belt. Recently once in a blue moon it'll sequel for a bit when it's really cold out. It has been a few years now since then and I'm still using the same belt. I figure if it gets bad again I'll just flip the belt 180° and cross my fngers. My guess is that I'll get a few more years out of it, if I do. By that time I'll be in need of a new belt anyways. Eitheway, I hope you get it sorted out. Because there's nothing less satisfying than listening to a squealing belt.
That's exactly what I did, new pulley, laser lined and belt noise gone. Grooves on belt just fit better than they did on older pulley, it was a shot in the dark, but it worked.
It's been over 7 months now without a single chrip, I'm going to have to call it a fix.
I had the same issue, I put a new pulley on and lined it up and it has 0 freeplay. Belt chirp is gone. Great video!
Thanks
Did you say you put a new pulley on the power steering pump?
