Finally I understand more about the amphibian, your the first guy that has given an explanation for people like me that have not much idea about this stuff, all I’ve been wanting to know is does this gadget trickle charge my batteries at home , thanks mate
Hey Steve, Sparky here. The earth pin’s wiring isn’t necessarily larger or better for “cooling” it is to distinguish the design and use of the circuit as a higher current (amp) application and the circuit is designed and protected to suit. Hope this helps
Thanks Mitch, yes...I now know more...always learning these things for the greater good. Feel free to reach out and get your details to me please...It is hard to find professionals to bounce questions off.
@@adelaiderv Actually, you are right in a roundabout way Steve. Yes, the larger 15A pin denotes a higher current rated cable which will prevent overheating compared to a 10A cable which is a way of having a 'cooler' plug and cable to do the same job. :) Love your videos.
Hi Steve, I have bought a new oven , the old oven is 15 amp plug but new oven has a 10 amp plug , any reason I can't just plug ten amp lead straight into 15amp socket ?
Hi Paul, when plugged in it is not necessary to use an inverter. The inverter is for when you are without 240v and wish to use something that runs on 240v like a coffee machine, hairdryer etc. Hope that helps.
@@adelaidervshould the overload safety switch be up or down...that is green or red ? ( on a household switchboard they are positioned in up showing the red dot )
Hi Steven do you have any advice or videos on how many appliances you can run at once in van's. This is our first time to cold cold climate and we seem to keep shorting out (is that the right word:) when the annex is up and we have a heater on in it and the aircon on in the van it only takes one other appliance to short out. BTW we do have a portable gas heater, but it is proving very expensive to run, any suggestions appreciated,
Many times i ve seen people using 15amp leads with 10amp plugs fitted I once asked someone why he was using a 15amp lead with a 10amp plug his answer was you do what you do and I'll do what i do

@@nevilleabbott2330 I have the same question. Can I plug a 10 amp kettle into a 15 amp cord that is running from a 15 amp outlet?

These shorts are excellent for us with short attention sp
We are glad they help.
Surprised you guys don't use commando style inlets and plugs. Much sturdier design and the standard in most of Europe and UK.
We are upside down on a few things John.
Question from a "nufty" :) When "plugged in" do we need to us the invertor for the 240V or is this only for converting the 12V to 240V?

When buying a 15amp extensions lead is there a big difference (besides possibly the length) between the cheaper and more expensive leads?
As long as you're purchasing from a reputable supplier it shouldn't matter.
What additional safety features are incorporated into the amphibian?
All amphibians have built in overload protections and shock protections inbuilt.
There are 3 x types of amphibian: MINI, RV PLUS & MAX.

Right or wrong, i have been told its illegal to trim off the ring of the plug.
Is some trying to upsell a new receiver ?
Defiantly illegal to trim it off Brian.
Why would it be illegal? They sell them without them
