Thank you SO MUCH! Just completed this project on my 2020 Himalayan. I used the "non-clipping" original Orange/White wire method and it worked PERFECTLY. Your videos are very well made, much appreciated and incredibly useful. Thanks again.
@@leuheanrede Yes mate bike is ok but need to visit the service centre once to sort out the issue properly. Its bit confusing whether its the rpm or the clearance. So may be it will get sorted once i visit the service centre.
Im thinking of doing this on my bs6. Yes the bs6 has an abs switch inbuilt. But its rather useless. Even if the engine stalls you need to redo the procedure. Its not only on key off.
Will it not disable the fuse functionality which is to cut the circuit if more current is flowing than rated. Will this switch which we are putting to break the circuit or connect the circuit not draw more current then rated? Just thinking
I am looking forward the possibility of one modification in my BS4 Abs model the same which you have. See if you can do this 1. Put BS6 right side handlebar switch so we can get hazard lamp in a standard way with no added buttons on handle. 2. Any provision so we can turnoff headlight like after turning ignition ON. It eats battery immediately after turning ON. Like in BS3 or before AHO era we used to get button. These are in my mind but need guidance and need video of this setup. I don't even like adding buttons on handle. Let me know what you think.
Yes indeed, that is the idea mate, But sourcing those BS3 switch is a problem, will wait and hopefully get them from local market as, RE service center doesnot have stock and no eta. Also, considering removing that AHO myself, will see how it goes. Cheers :)
@@leuheanrede Ahoha ! I understand, indeed when you are short of battery, that AHO is definitely an advantage, you don't even have to bother to start, you just go drinking a beer instead and, if it happens in the wilderness, you just walk, thats better for the health, instead of sitting on that stupid bike
But seriously, when you are off-road, you just don't need the light on, no ? or only for the rabbits, and off-road is probably the place where you are happy to have enough battery when you are miles away from civilization, unless you have handily some Indian god who, with a lightning stroke, just recharges your battery , if you pronounced the right praising words

Thanks mate, can be done, but cost factor will be too high for such and endeavor. We are talking about wiring harness, abs ECU unit, sensor cables, brake lines to name a few along with a good mechanic who is very well versed with such mods. Its not a simple swap job. Plus trust me, a lot of BS4 riders are trying to switch it off :D and that why BS6 has a switchable one. What i am trying to say is, there are both ups and downs with ABS, so you are not missing out on much. Cheers :)
@@ivorthomas453 For the 2019 Himalayan, the light stays on. Just have to pull the 5amp fuse (yellow) out to disable the rear wheel ABS. The light stays on because the front wheel ABS is engaged no matter what. This is not an issue because you only need the rear wheel ABS disabled for skid turns and such in off-road riding. I don't mind just pulling the fuse out for my all day off-road riding and putting it back in at the end of the day. Easy.
@@DatG-sx1co my pleasure mate. But some wiring is cut or some socket is disconnected. Please start with checking the fuse then move to abs module wiring connection on right side. Disconnect it and reconnect after cleaning and applying silicon grease, same for fuse, do check if it's OK and if so, make sure the wiring and sensor connections are connected properly. If everything is OK then the abs light on speedo console should be off.. let me know how it goes. Cheers
Hi Sir..Good day....Did you face any issue related to abs after adding a switch to 5A abs ecu fuse??? I just now did that modification. Please reply...Does it burn fuse if I turn off/on abs while riding.?? Does it work really well. Do you have any suggestions??
Is it possible to make a switch for only the rear abs? I mean the wheel speed sensor comes with 2 wire, is it possible to create a switch between abs module and rear abs sensor?
Have been thinking about that, but need to do some testing, as I am not sure, if ABS ecu will work ok with one sensor not giving input. BS6 ABS ECU unit can handle one feed, but BS4 on is not designed for one feed. But dont quote me on this, need to test this Cheers :)
Can you do this with a Classic 500 as well would you think? I have 3 fuses for ABS and occasionally I head down a gravel road so does pulling the 3 fuses out do the job?
Indeed i did mate, so there are 3 fuses starting with ABS Main 1, 25 Amp, ABS main 2, 10 amp and ABS ECU 5 Amp. Removing Main 1 and main 2 have the same affect of disabling the entire abs unit, same as ABS ECU 5 amp, the idea behind using 5 amp one is that it can take the load of being switched off on the fly. I was hoping that Main 1 or 2 might be connected to front or rear sensor, but they are not, Cheers :)
Kudos buddy! I was wondering a similar way to make an on off switch for the headlight, but ABS comes as a surprise. Just curious, are the BS3 headlight switchgear swap to the BS4 ones?
Thanks mate :D This was long time pending and also next is AHO low beam switch. And as for switchgear, bs3 one is 9 pins one same as bs4. But the bs4 one has 3 live pins whereas bs3 has about 7( thats a guess, could be 8), some meddling with pins will be required, but doable. Now as you mentioned it is indeed that simple, by getting a pair of wires and switch connected to low beam wire. (by using 2 pins from bs3 switchgear) But the only problem is that even if a wire is connected to switchgear from low beam, it will not disable the pilot, rear tail lamp and number plate light. But they dont draw much power anyways, so should be ok. That being said I am trying to find a way to use bs3 switchgear and hopefully make all 7/8 pins from that live/functional. Again doable. There are quite a few things holding me back though, first, the bs3 switchgear itself :D unable to source it thus far Cheers :)
Hi, thus far bike is still in testing stage if i may call it that, will update later, but to be honest i dont see much issue arising if wiring is done properly to eradicate the possibility of shorting, cheers :)
