- This weeks Vlog, is a little taste of what's to come! from One man and his
boat!
We are lucky enough to have a GREAT community spirit, and friends and family who didn't mind showing you all, there boats, and there VERY busy day, launching there boats at Dunbar's, Cromwell harbour (Old harbour)
we hope you enjoy this vlog as much as we enjoyed making it!
Some cracking looking boats there with skippers who clearly take a lot of pride in them

The skippers/owners at Dunbar always do their best to look after their vessels. After all, they are huge investment these days, so the guys do their utter most to keep them in tip-top condition. 😁👌

@@onemanandhisboat iam in ORE of your attention to detail and patience you have I have brought from Scotland a Cheverton 18 which I have had sprayed and all new electrics and I use for recreation fishing . Just found your u tube channel , and I enjoy it can’t wait to see it in the wet stuff

Chevertons are great little sea boats. There are 3 at Dunbar, popular little boats.
Hope you have a great season with her, especially after the work you've had done.

Great to see the boats going in and having a wee look around them. I can almost smell the fresh paint from here.

Hi Baz, going back through your videos & this was a cracker. In the 50's l remember plenty of trawlers. Are there any left?? In the 30's Mum told me of a great storm she watched. The boats were trying to get back into the harbour. Many failed & were lost!! She hated the sea after that!

Unfortunately the trawlers are getting fewer, and fewer ☹👎
We have only 5 left, and one of those mostly fishes from Port seaton.
And another is now fishing out of Amble. So only 3 actually working the Dunbar area...sad...if I had known what was to happen I wouldn't have sold mine.😉👍
Would that have been " black Friday " your mum was talking about?
I do believe there were lots of boats up and down the coast lost after that storm...very sad indeed...lots of dependant families without husband's and fathers. ☹

That was great Barry, It was realy interesting I've been missing getting down to Dunbar and the harbours, it was Realy interesting watching them being lifted in, they're all looking realy good and a lot of work done on them, great video, thanks, it was so good to see the boats again, thanks Barry

It has been a while Dave. I hope you and yours has been keeping safe and well, through these trying times.
That's always the BIG question, and I'm afraid I don't have an answer at this point in time.
I would love to be in for the start of the Lobster season ( 1st two weeks in August) but who knows.
We keep hitting snags at the moment, and it takes weeks to sort them out, whether its waiting on materials or waiting on trades men, as they are super busy at the mo.
I'm sorry this doesn't give you a definitive answer bud, but we will keep everyone up to date as soon as we know more.😁👌

Unfortunately time and weather plays a big part when the boats are ready.
Unfortunately we don't have any facilities to cater for both, so the guys are always on catch up.
