I like the Beagleboard ecosystem and have several of their boards. However at this price range they are competing with Nvidia's Jetson boards and AI development SDKs
Yes, I totally agree. BeagleBone AI-64 is definitely not cheap. However, the market is changing, the global chip shortage is real thing and prices for single board computers in general are going up. Obviously the near future belongs to more ARM 64-bit dev boards and RISC-V computers capable of running Linux. I hope good competition may lead to price reduction at some point in long-term future.
I heard the news that shortage of semiconductors all over the world. Would this board a stable supplied? Raspberry Pi is very few and became expensive in Japan...
Yes, your are right: the chip shortage is a very serious issue for the whole industry. Raspberry Pi 4 is extremely hard to find now. I bought BeagleBone AI-64 from Farnell. They had a few units and at the moment it is out of stock there but it is expected again on 09/10/22. Check the availability from distributors from the purchase button here: beagleboard.org/ai-64
Most of the gpio pins dont work. I tried exporting P8 and p9 pins to ensure i could blink simple led's. however. all efforts in vain. New images when flashed makes the board invisible to macOs.
Yes, as far as I know. Details are available at this forum discussion: forum.beagleboard.org/t/question-is-ai-64-currently-shipping-with-production-processor-and-no-pru/32370
Hello, I was updating firmware. When update was on going suddenly board got shutdown and now I am unable to boot the board. When I connect the power source, LED is not at all blinking what can be the issue? Is my board is damaged?
I just received the Beagleboard Ai 64 after paying a ridiculous price of $190 from Electromaker. I paid $12.50 for shipping and asked to return it because it is WAY overpriced for limited features, including NO Wi-fi/BT, no speaker and microphone interfacing, and NO support. MOREOVER< it is 3x price and MUSH less capable than BeagleY!!!!!!!!!! VERY angry! NOW, I must PROVE with pictures and a huge fight to return, and pay MORE to ship it back!!!!!!! I will NEVER do business with Beagle and Electromaker!!!!!!!!
Sorry about your frustration. Unfortunately shipping is getting very expensive nowadays. I am making some very simple open source hardware gadgets and sometimes the shipping is even more expensive than the product. On the bright side there are distributors like Mouser offering free shipping to many locations above a certain threshold.
JTAG header is Tag-connect, FYI.
Other than that, great video. I will almost certainly try to use VNC + wifi probably.
Cool, thanks

Hm, which new image did you flash? Is there a serial console output with the new image you flashed?
Hi, I'd like to ask you if BB AI-64 comes with PRU-ICSS or ICSSG?
