"My Lord, during the construction of the Death Star we discovered a fatal flaw. A vulnerability that would allow a single torpedo to destroy the whole construct. The Engineers have come up with a revolutionary solution to this issue and have started the construction of a second Death Star. They assured me, no single torpedo would be able to destroy both of them."
Loved the 10 minute intro where you discussed lore rather than diving straight in. Some of us arent as well versed in the importance of some of the worlds, so the crash course refresher is appreciated.
I think this play through is why I finally purchased, after so many years. Lewis’ questions kept things from just being inside jokes for those that don’t as much about the small details. And the role playing was hilarious. “And they were in Star Wars?” made me laugh so hard.
27:55 The mission fails. From the Rules Reference: "If the player attempting the mission obtains more successes than his opponent, the mission succeeds; proceed to step 6. Otherwise, the mission fails, and the ability on the card is not performed." In other words, since the number of successes are equal, the player attempting the mission did not obtain "more" successes than his opponent (the AI), and the mission is failed. But of course they were correct to add the additional 2 dice d/t the presence of Rebel units, it just wasn't enough this time.
+Games Night At 28:04 you actually don't win on a tie on an attempt that is opposed. You only win if you have more successes than the opposition! Mon Calamari should have stayed neutral there! :)
I have played this why some of my friends who love Star Wars and we all loved it. For some reason it has massive replayability and we have a great laugh every time we play! Great to see you playing games you enjoy
If Lewis understands the game after this co-op playthrough, it would be fun to see them actually go up against each other if they were to play the videogame version on Lewis and Ben Save the World.
Damn hollywood bull... it was Kyle Katarn who stole the death star plans. As a mercenary, he regularly worked for the Rebel Alliance, where he was secretly dispatched by Mon Mothma on missions deemed too dangerous or sensitive for actual Rebel operatives. His first game Dark Forces begins shortly before the events of the film A New Hope, with Katarn single-handedly infiltrating an Imperial facility on the planet Danuta to retrieve the plans for the first Death Star. The plans would eventually be forwarded to Princess Leia, leading to the destruction of the Death Star.
10:00 The Alliance obtained their ships through a few cool ways. Some were leftover ships from the Clone Wars era, some were stolen, and some were salvaged. Others were sent to them by Rebel sympathizing worlds. My favorite story would have to be when Alderaan sent three hammerhead corvettes to the Rebel Alliance through a staged invasion. In order to avoid openly supporting the Rebellion, the ships were sent on a mission and the rebels "took over" in a false boarding party so that they could simply take control and leave.
In Britain, an Empire it was called Supremacy, and in America, an independent Colony, it's called Rebellion. Well played Lucas Films advertising department, well played.
Yep error and 28m a tie score meant the mission failed. rules state they have to win role if contested. Unless solo AI rules change that. Loved the video's and chat, would like to see more of this game from them.
+Games Night And again at 35:00 guys, that Infiltration actually failed even with using R2 to make one of the imperial dies blank, because you guys tied on the successes at 1, and the rule book states "If the player attempting the mission rolls more successes than his opponent, the mission succeeds and he performs the "if successful" ability on the card. If he rolls equal to or fewer successes than his opponent, the mission fails and he does not perform the ability on the card"
good point but that is in fact the exact planet than in this video vader did decide to go check 37:20 so if you were in charge of the rebels I am afraid it would have been a rather quick game :P
Can you guys pllleeeassseee play A Game of Thrones: Board Game Second Edition? It's so good, you can play 3-6 players and the political back door deals and betrayals are sooo real. And I think it would be hilarious with you two, and Sjin, Duncan, Trott and Tom
*warning I'm about to nerd out about Star Wars* The Death star was constructed above Geonisis, after its construction was completed, it fired at Geonosis, killing every Geonosian exempt for the queen who created a small army of warriors. But Darth Vader was sent by Palatine to kill her and her minions. Dantooine is from the Old Republic game, I'm not sure exactly what happens there but I do know that Darth Revan visited the planet several times throughout the game.
It would be amazing to see some empire at war (it's pretty much a spicier version of the 1998 rebellion) and it's actually a perfect time to start. They finally removed the shitty gamespy integration and now its fully steam supported including steam workshop. Some juicy thrawnage would pop my cherry quick-smart
I've only watched the new one, rogue one and the new episode 1 but I know a lot of the story and all this makes sense since I played Battlefront 2 (the good one).
I'm not personally into these games at all but sort of love watching the yogs play them , and yeah shooting it top down like this is fine , sort of like you'r pov. have a few gin's next time
I can't stop gushing about this game. Seriously, if you are thinking of picking it up, do it. Bite the bullet. Easily my favorite 2-player game ever made.
So here's a thing. The Rebels had no idea how or if the Death Star could be destroyed until they analysed the plans. The solution might not've been Y-Wings/X-Wings doing a Dambusters but a corvette full of explosives doing an Operation Chariot or teams of marines doing a Dieppe. Or coming to terms with the Death Star's invulnerability and deciding to make their own low(er)-tech planet-destroying equivalent (hyperspace ramming, anybody?) to force a stalemate. I like the idea that no-one really knew that X-Wings were any good for more than sweeping up TIE fighters and carrying out small surgical strikes until suddenly one demonstrated it even could blow up a Death Star and immediately the big capital ships were kinda obsolete. Like battleships after Pearl Harbor / Midway.
Lol what...hyperspace ramming was a BS move in the Last Jedi. Just think about it. If this was actually a possible thing, a single X-Wing with a R2 pilot could knock out the Death Star superlaser for months at a time if not longer. Just hyperspace right into the laser emitter. Your rebel fleet stuck between Endor and the Death Star 2 and the entire Imperial fleet? Just hyperspace a X-Wing into each Star Destroyer bridge. For good measure, hyperspace a rebel transport into the Endor shield generator. Probably overkill for both. Destroy the Death Star. Game Over. TLJ just made the rest of Star Wars utterly stupid. No fucking internal consistency at all.
also, doing a full, real game could be made really interesting, and it'd look good, if both players each had their own copy, and all revealed units were to be moved on both boards, similar to the first version of Battleship, where each of the two players has their own combat "terminal".
Holy shit someone else that LIKED Rebellion on the PC! I thought I was the only one! It's just a Star Wars Email Checking Simulator and it's wonderful! It dug DEEP into all the EU characters at the time. Some would say TOO DEEP.
Yes. A tie means a win for the opposing faction. Credit to the AI, using the Emperor to block a build on Mon Cal / Utapau at the start is usually the best Imperial move.

I’m like 66
So Ben has played so many videogames he now needs an electronic IV to survive in the real world now? Lol
Exactly what I thought ahaha
That is also why he is calling drawing random cards an AI.
At a fundamental level, a random selection from a group of predetermined actions is AI
laughed so hard, thanks mate
Brian Williams ui
It is amazing how much Lewis simutaniously knows about star wars and doesn't know
BrO'Neill He know the first half of a lot of facts
He has approximate knowledge of many things.
Lewis's know-ledge of Star Wars is fucking cancer.
Ooh edgy kid calling something cancer.
There are many many more important things that fucking SW knowledge. In fact 99% of everything else is more important than your SHIT movies
STAR WARS, BABY!
Loved the 10 minute intro where you discussed lore rather than diving straight in. Some of us arent as well versed in the importance of some of the worlds, so the crash course refresher is appreciated.
Misread as "trash course"
Eh, y'know, with some of Lewis' Star Wars facts, could kinda be a trash course
Man, Ben's Star Wars knowledge is so amazing, I could listen to Ben talk Star Wars all day, baby
He was mispronouncing "Rieekan ".
I think this play through is why I finally purchased, after so many years. Lewis’ questions kept things from just being inside jokes for those that don’t as much about the small details.

I can just imagine Vader tweeting ‘IM ON TATOOINE LOOKING FOR THE REBELS!’ and the rebels just reply ‘Wrong Planet Shitlord!’
What is the internal temperature of a taun taun?
Luke warm.
ETSMalanic you sir make are amazing
XD
Dunno if Ben's lost weight but he's looking good!
Maggotflesh3 he has groomed his beard
it's because he's wearing the Warhammer shirt
burn

I’m 3 years late on this and I’ve never watched this channel, but this is a really well made video
Love this game. I like that you're teaching people about SW, too.
Holy crap I can't believe this was three years ago. Time for a re-watch!
I imagine that the mon calamari secret meeting went like "The emperor is a bit of dick, join us. He's standing right behind me isnt he?'"
15:06 actually start playing.
I would put the base on tatooine cause vader would never go there. He hates sand
It's course rough and irritating
good point but that is in fact the exact planet than in this video vader did decide to go check 37:20 so if you were in charge of the rebels I am afraid it would have been a rather quick game :P
Please play this again!
It would be interesting to see them play Empire at War Campaign Versus
This absolutely needs to happen. I love that game, especially the space battles.
"its not a fist mission its an eye mission, so he's got two eyes and we've got... two eyes" - lewis 2017
I love the classic EU novel covers used for the cards.
You guys should definitely make a shirt that says "Roll for the Empire!"
As I said in the xwing tournament video, more more more of this!!!
When attempting a mission, if the result a tie, the mission fails.
Squiddy rights!! My word, what a wonderful video! Notes for Lewis, Ben and the Yogscast are now at my Yogs Posts Tumblr
Loving the effort you guys are doing for this :)
Please more of this!
This is fucking getting me hooked! I don't know how you guys do it, but you always manage! Can't wait for more
The expansion came out today. HYYYYYYPPPPEEEEE!!!!!
Can you guys pllleeeassseee play A Game of Thrones: Board Game Second Edition? It's so good, you can play 3-6 players and the political back door deals and betrayals are sooo real. And I think it would be hilarious with you two, and Sjin, Duncan, Trott and Tom
I played the card game a little before and I remember to be incredibly good and funny.
NEIN NEIN NEIN NEIN NEIN
*warning I'm about to nerd out about Star Wars*

Please can you make more of these types of videos. They are very enjoyable to watch.
You guys should replay this with the rogue one expansion
Shiet, ben looks good with those moustache... Looking good #boik
Ben and Lewis look like brothers
When he said “Karelia is like Detroit” I thought he meant it was glassed like Mandalor
"If you haven't seen Star Wars, this probably already makes no sense"......
If you haven't seen Star Wars, HOW?!?!?!?!
Tommy Dancer I still haven’t. Wel.... I did, and I slept. (More exactly, I got so fucking bored that I forgot about them)
It would be amazing to see some empire at war (it's pretty much a spicier version of the 1998 rebellion) and it's actually a perfect time to start.
They finally removed the shitty gamespy integration and now its fully steam supported including steam workshop.

30:27 - Lewis channeling the emperor.
Really enjoying your game reviews. Keep up the good work 👍😃
'Corellia is like Detroit' LOL
Imagine putting your open palm vertically on Lewis' face and slowly squeezing his eyebrows down to his mouth. That's how Ben looks.
Mygeeto was part of the Muun's planets, if I remember correctly.
I've only watched the new one, rogue one and the new episode 1 but I know a lot of the story and all this makes sense since I played Battlefront 2 (the good one).
Please Star Wars Armada next.
this is a really cool game i hope they play more than once
I'm 27 and still haven't seen Star Wars but I watched this video all the way through.
Can you guys do a Star Wars destiny tournament I loved you vids on it
30:30 "Death Stars! Get yer Death Stars here! Buy one get one free!"
29:58 "Building a Sex Star". BEST. EMPIRE. EVER.
I'm not personally into these games at all but sort of love watching the yogs play them , and yeah shooting it top down like this is fine , sort of like you'r pov. have a few gin's next time
> 9 minutes in
> tells us to watch star wars if we havent already
Naboo is also the Emporer's homeworld. Ole' Sheev.
I can't stop gushing about this game. Seriously, if you are thinking of picking it up, do it. Bite the bullet. Easily my favorite 2-player game ever made.
Update looks out his window and just looks at the under construction Death Star
Is it just me or is Ben slowly morphing into Lewis
It does seem that way.
Adam Wadsworth he's a younger and slight chubbier version right now
I believe, (though I may be wrong) that alderaan bought correllian corvettes for their use and then supplied them to the rebels
BOARD GAMES ARE BACK THANK YOU GUYS
4:06 no they were there the empire just allready defeated them there it was the previous rebel base
So here's a thing. The Rebels had no idea how or if the Death Star could be destroyed until they analysed the plans. We want more Ameebo!!! :D
Shit the bed, Ben would totally rock the Kyle Katarn look!
More! and get the Rise of the Empire Expansion!!!
17:20 do you have any ash mains to help with the siege? Wait, that's not the right siege.
Ben's r2d2 is so good!
FYI a draw on mission dice off means that the defender wins, not the Rebels.
Loved this !!
It reminds me of star wars empire at war galactic conquest.
there are so many death stars that this can be called spaceballs
If y’all were to play the Rebellion mega game where you play Armada for Space battles and Legion for ground battles I think it’d make a great series!
also, doing a full, real game could be made really interesting, and it'd look good, if both players each had their own copy, and all revealed units were to be moved on both boards, similar to the first version of Battleship, where each of the two players has their own combat "terminal".
The CGI on Tarkin was amazing what are you talking about? Only scary thing about it was how far tech has come these days.
They should have had Tom be the Empire. He would be perfect!
*deathstar blows up* Tom "Ohh Noo"
The intro gives me a axis and allies meets OG triology feel, cool, I guess
Holy shit someone else that LIKED Rebellion on the PC! I thought I was the only one!
It's just a Star Wars Email Checking Simulator and it's wonderful!
It dug DEEP into all the EU characters at the time. Some would say TOO DEEP.
Half an hour or Turn one...
It's a WORLD RECORD!
the death star was built on genosis the it was moved to scariff
So this is basically a board game version of Star Wars: Empire at War
SO MUCH HYPE!!!!!
this game seems like a board game version of the video game Star Wars: Empire at War
At the end, is Lewis painting Sekemtar Necrons?
I like this a lot
Man this makes me want to play Star Wars Empire at War
same, with the UGC mod (the one that has many planets)
Glory to the Empire!
Shouldn't it have failed if they both rolled 5 doesn't the defense win if it's a draw?
Yes. A tie means a win for the opposing faction. Credit to the AI, using the Emperor to block a build on Mon Cal / Utapau at the start is usually the best Imperial move.
What about the droid attack on the Wookies?
YAASSSS OMG I FUCKING LOVE THIS BOARD GAME
Ben and Tom vs Lewis and Pflax
Why does the pole in the back look like an iv drip?
What spreadsheet are they using?
Yknow what's fun? Listening to star wars background sounds faintly play whilst these guys play.
When there's a tie the mission fails.
