FlyingMoodys thanks very much and yes, I agree about the small strips. 580m is loads really, but I’m hoping to get into some smaller places in the coming months too.
Nice one Rory, glad Lizi liked the C42, my other half Mandy much preferred it too for its visibility of the ground, stability and comfort especially on longer flights. Happy Birthday :-)
Thanks very much - great way to start the celebrations! Yeah, there's no doubt it's a great aircraft. I just feel more like a fighter pilot in a Eurostar... ;)
Reminds me of happy days flying with my dad in and out of farm strips. Some of which included such features as motorway bridges, gradients and other such 'challenges' as wind shear etc etc. I did get to have an hour in the left seat of an EV97 a year or two back, very light touch compared to Cessnas et al. Enjoy your flying!
Very much enjoyed watching this video Rory. Looked like a very tricky strip to locate. I was pausing the video as you landed to see if I could see myself looking at you from the tower 😉 Listening again confirms the very professional R/T. All the best - Paul
DROGE thanks very much! I’m delighted you enjoyed it and I hope you’ll check out some of my other videos while we’re all grounded. I had a fab flight in the C42 to Fife in Scotland with Lizi which was fun. 👍
I have enjoyed this episode so much! Thanks for you and for your fantastic wife to visit Lancashire Aero Club Midsummer fly-in at Kenyon Hall Farm Airstrip ( I know it was a shortest flight in the history but we hope you liked not only the hospitality but the tricky landing too on RW23😉) Kind Regards, George
GeoAviation thanks George! You made a few cameo appearances which were great! It was a superb trip and thank you for your hospitality and warm welcome. I’ll definitely be back next time. Catch you up at Barton soon too I hope. Cheers, Rory
Did my low level nav in C42 yesterday. Was given some farm strips as waypoints. Bloody difficult to spot unless they actually have planes parked up outside.
Yes thanks, good fun. Sometimes takes a while to spot my home airfield, Clench Common! Picture changes with the seasons and weather. Going to Shobdon next week to hopefully get all my navs and solo time completed, which will take me up to revision for the test.
Fsx Full Flights thanks very much! The numbers are creeping up and I’m enjoying making the videos so hopefully it’ll snowball soon. I really appreciate the encouragement.
Airlite X thanks very much! I really enjoy making the videos and the numbers are growing which is good. I’m hoping it’ll snowball a bit when I get to 1000 subs. We shall see!
Plane Old Ben hello mate, it was a spur of the moment decision to go, sorry! I’m now planning to post my flight plans on the Facebook page before I go so people can come and say hello / watch flight radar / join in if they can get a plane so I’ll try harder next time. I’m keen to see your fox.
Hello Rory, I enjoy watching your Videos. I now live on Anglesey and am a member of the Mona Flying Club but I learnt to fly at Barton back in the 1980's when the whole of the operation at Barton, including the Flying School was operated by The Lancashire Aero Club. It is the Oldest Flying Club in the Country to be still in existence. Formed in 1922, to celebrate the Cub's 70th Anniversary in 1992, I wrote a book detailing the history of the Club and of Barton Aerodrome entitled "The Lancashire Aero Club - Three Score Years and Ten". My friend Paul Tomlin has scanned the book and reproduced it on his Website : www.edendale.co.uk I hope you or your viewers might find it interesting. Cheers Pete Maher - Penysarn, Anglesey
This video just shows a short flight ✈️ isn't a boring trip. Nice video. Thanks Keith
Cheers, it was a lovely outing. Glad you enjoyed watching.
Another brilliant video Rory, one of the best things about Microlight flying is the ability to fly into small strips as well as large airfields.
FlyingMoodys thanks very much and yes, I agree about the small strips. 580m is loads really, but I’m hoping to get into some smaller places in the coming months too.
Another enjoyable vid Rory.

Nice little flight, great video once again. Love the Polo top too :-)
Thanks mate. Yeah chuffed with the polo. Just got a T shirt too so that'll be showing its face soon too. I also have a box of caps now too...
Awesome. Looking forward to mine :-)
Indeed! I'll message you to sort the postage details.

Martin Wix thanks for the comment Martin. I’m glad you enjoyed the video. Lots more strips to visit in 2019 I hope!
Rory On Air You lucky chap! :-)
emjoying your vids and the banter and the openess ( is there such a word)
Very much enjoyed watching this video Rory. Looked like a very tricky strip to locate. I was pausing the video as you landed to see if I could see myself looking at you from the tower 😉 Listening again confirms the very professional R/T. All the best - Paul
Thanks Paul - I think the window frame might have been in the way? I'm sure I'll get you on video if I'm in a Eurostar on 26L. Thanks re the RT. :)
Only a short flight but they are all fun. Some of these strips can be hard to find. Nice one!
Jodel Flyer cheers Tim. I was surprised how tricky it was to find. Nice little warm up for the next trip we did, which was a long one to Fife!
Another great vid, that strip looks nice.
So enjoyed this good honest video. Just felt like riding along with you both. Well done. From a C42 addict :o)

Great one again Rory! like the song on take off from Barton :D
Thanks Kevin. I thought I'd try something a bit different on this one.

They really can be tricky can't they! Did it go ok generally?
Yes thanks, good fun. Sometimes takes a while to spot my home airfield, Clench Common! Picture changes with the seasons and weather. Going to Shobdon next week to hopefully get all my navs and solo time completed, which will take me up to revision for the test.
MrAlwaysBlue excellent stuff! Hopefully we’ll be able to meet somewhere for a brew in an airfield cafe once you’ve passed.
I know you don't have many subs at the moment but keep going and you will get there.
Your vids are great
Totally agree! When he gets properly "discovered" his subs will rocket - brilliantly produced, informative and enjoyable vids every one of them.
Fsx Full Flights thanks very much! The numbers are creeping up and I’m enjoying making the videos so hopefully it’ll snowball soon. I really appreciate the encouragement.

Great stuff. Good hearing your R/T now I've passed my FRTOL :-) Oh, and I work in a 'Poo Factory' !
combatwombat71 well done on your FRTOL pass - that’s excellent. A very vital job you do then - it’s appreciated. 👍
Where was my invite?
