  • To drive the 2021 Mercedes-Benz E 450 is to let the motoring masses know that you have your wits about you. Sensibility reigns supreme in your world, and you aren’t afraid who knows it. No, it’s not especially sexy or exciting, but that’s what an AMG-tuned E-Class is for. Even so, the E 450 is no slouch in its own right, and this version gets its power from one of the most sultry engines around while also benefiting from a mild hybrid electrical system. Fuel savings are marginal, but it serves up shuffleboard levels of smoothness - as if the engine wasn’t enough on its own already. Add in the optional advanced driver aides, and this executive sedan easily counts among the industry’s most impressive cruisers this side of six figures. AutoTrader.ca Road Test Editor Dan Ilika walks through the strengths and weaknesses of Mercedes' tech-laden midsize sedan and why it makes for a logical choice if you're shopping in this segment.

Good presentation. I have E450 2021 and I am interested in Mercedese me and inbuilt dash cam details. Do you have a video on these if not please record one.

Great video! How tall are you? It was surprising to me how little headroom there was in the back considering this is a large sedan used by many taxi-companies worldwide.

I hate when you reviewers lie. I have a 2019 BMW M550 and a 2018 E450 coupe. You do not have to "KEEP" your hands on the steering wheel and "feather" it. You can let it go completely and it'll warn you to be attentive and touch the steering wheel to let it know you're paying attention. They both have visual cues. You're misinforming the viewers.

Wow. First of all, I definitely didn’t lie about how the system works. If you let go of the wheel it most certainly will shut off. And second, what you’re encouraging here is downright dangerous. This isn’t autonomous technology, and you should never let your hands off the wheel regardless of whether you’re using adaptive cruise control or not.

@@danilika9420 Question: how long after you let go of the steering wheel does it shut off? I have both cars so I know. I want to see the answer. I'll repeat, when you're on the highway cruising, how long after you let go of the steering wheel does the system warn you and then shut off? I definitely appreciate you responding and we know it's not self driving, it's a driver's aid and you have to be careful with words, I want you to mention the time frame at highway speeds.

@@Venom198518 I couldn’t tell you how long it takes to shut off after you let go of the steering wheel because I’ve never done so with the E-Class or any other vehicle. It’s dangerous and dumb. What I can tell you, however, is that E-Class’s has sensors “that register whether the driver is holding the wheel,” according to Mercedes-Benz. “If the system detects that the driver does not have their hands on the steering wheel for a certain period of time, a warning cascade is initiated, which ultimately activates Emergency Brake Assist if the driver continues to be inactive.”

Wrong @venom198598....stop being toxic and perhaps take some time to properly research more articles before falsely accusing others of lying. This technology is exactly as Dan Ilika states.

@@John-gx7hm toxic? I said I have both cars genius. Is that enough "research" for you?
