Man I’m switching over from a Newport NK180. I’ve been looking at this motor for months. I was waiting on more information to come out about it. But it looks amazing. A bit pricey but you gotta pay to play. From all the research I’ve done it’s the best in the game. It’s also the lightest package and for fishing rivers that’s a no brainer. It’s basically the same weight as my NK180 and 50ah battery setup with way more torque and efficiency. Thanks for making this informative video.
@SaintJohnWaiting that is awesome. That is a cool kayak/big ass pieces of plastic. Lol. I was looking at those back in the day but never got one. Definitely cool though for sure.
@allkindsofoutdooractivities this will be sooner. They have been working on it for a while already. It’s ready to come out. They are waiting on a few parts. It will be soon
I have the 1HP torqeedo. did DIY and installed it instead of mirage drive on my pro angler 14 .. is the case size of this motor the same as the 1hp motor? basically is it possible to do the same DIY with this motor as I don't like to mount the motor at the back of the kayak?
The physical case of motor housing is bigger by quite a bit over the 1HP version. It’s around 40 pounds as well. Pretty cool you did DYI mount though. I like my motor in back because I run into stumps and oyster bars a lot. Haha. I wouldn’t have a motor left if I had in the front.
@rjmfishtales appreciate your answer.. I do salt water fishing.. nothing to worry about in my case.. reason why I asked this question is I am a bit of a big guy 110kg and I prefer to keep always the weight centralised on the kayak 😅 appertaining with the power this motor is offering plus my weight, the kayak will always look as if its on 2 wheels the full time🤦♂️
I think it’s going to be listed around $3100. Not sure how much with the bigger battery. I could probably find out. But the new one is much better with many issues fixed and addressed.
@EricScherrer unfortunately I don’t think that will ever happen. You get what you pay for. Good stuff cost money. The price of R&D, marketing, etc has to be recouped.
@@rjmfishtales Well then they won't be around for long. I can get a decent trolling motor for less than $300 that will take a beating, have easily accessible replacement parts and plenty of help online, and will last longer than me - why would I pay thousands more for just a few MPH. Doesn't make sense.
@EricScherrer whatever you want to use is up to you. Torqeedo has been around since 2005. Now Yamaha owns them. I don’t think they are going anywhere. But you can use whatever you want.
@@rjmfishtales Looks like they are already gone if Yamaha bought them. They were worth as much as thier patents. I doubt they were boought for thier client base.

No problem. I appreciate you stopping by. I hope the video helped some.
I have the 1103 travel and i kove it. I have a blue sky boatworks 360 angler that i use in kayak tournaments and it awesome

It seems to be worth the cost in my opinion, but it is pricey. Thanks Ryan!
I have had no problems with first gen so happy so far. We will see longer term. So far so w
Good
It’s really cool
Yes it is whenever it gets to market. They are working on it. Soon very soon. I have one already. Can’t afford to buy another one yet. Lol.
@@rjmfishtales sometimes it takes a year from icast to market for a lot of items

@mytide6474 no problem. It’s ok doing wheelies. Lol. 😂
Does the old yak attack throttle mount work for the new throttle?
I don’t thinks so. That is why YakAttack made a new style to work with Torqeedo and Newport.
Price s? I have a nucanoe unlimited

Seems to lack the torque/speed of its predecessor?
Not sure. Have not tried it personally on the water. I have the old one and won’t change till I break it.
When release date
Unfortunately I do not have that information. Let me see if I can find out for you.
$4k don,t think so, twice what it should be, just like new trucks ,
I won't even consider them until they come down under 1k.

Just say no to proprietary batteries. Battery tech changing too fast to be stuck with only what they want.
