I think Edward at his pirate life before joining the assassins, basim at the moment he reconnected with Loki, Jacob at the moment he got into London as try to form the gang, but mostly for me is Edward he was chasing personal gain for ambition at the most at the game This game is a GEM for the franchise!

4:00 to be fair to Connor, he was pushed into the assassin life and does alot of things against his will, he didnt want to leave his tribe but was forced to. so he did his best to be what he was meant to be, even though he didnt really want to.
I don't really think Jacob was that selfish. Stupid, somtimes, but no selfish. He cut ties with Roth when he got a building of children lit on fire and Jacob ran into the building to get them out. We also saw he helped a lot of poor people in the Jack the Ripper dlc by training them and giving them a purpose. My picks for most selfish would be Altair and Edward.

I agree on Basim being the most selfish. He’s now alive in the modern day, but now that Eivor the closest person he could exact revenge upon is dead, will he dedicate his time to the assassins? I thought they would show more of that side in Mirage.
I don't think he will as in the modern day when Basim said that he won't stop looking until he finds his children again, so he's probably just using the Assassins again to get what he wants. I still like Basim though, he's a pretty cool character.
I'd argue Ezio was more selfish than Arno. Ezio in Revelations literally blew up an entire city just to kill one man, and incited riots in order to infiltrate the Arsenal. He seemed to become more distant with the Creed as he grew older. As for Arno, I think the only reason he brought Élise to the Assassins was because he thought the truce was still in full effect when only Mirabeau really valued it at that point. Arno deciding to deliver the Apple of Eden he found in Dead Kings to the Egyptian Brotherhood, despite not even being an Assassin at the time, says a lot about his selflessness. He could've easily kept the Apple for himself like Altaïr did and went ahead with his initial plan to leave Europe. 🤷♂️
Arno got kicked out off the brotherhood because of his personal need for revenge and as far as i know he never officially rejoined the assassins and he is very full of himself
I'd say most of the Assassins in Rogue are cowardly. They all run away instead of fighting when Shay comes for them, and you can tell they're just generally worried because not only was Shay coming for them, but he was right the whole time.
I started unity and don’t have mirage yet so I can’t say those are wrong and after watching this I see it’s all assassin’s we play as but my first thought was achilles.
It would be Connor 100%. 3 is the only AC game were the protagonist is the only Assassin in the whole game, Connor doesn't have a brotherhood and rarely has help, he is a one man army.
I absolutely disagree with Basim's opinion: He has always been loyal to the Assassins, even blind at times to their choices (Ali in fact notices this thing in him), everything changes not because he "gets corrupted" or because Loki (whose entity is not Loki, but the precursor that Eivor sees again in Loki according to his beliefs and Basim sees again in Nehal because she was his only friend, who didn't even exist except in his head) sneaks up on him, he had always been like this, he went crazy several times in many occasions, but this does not take away the fact that Basim has always served faithfully and with a sense of justice, the same sense of justice he has when his Brotherhood, which was supposed to make him free, pure, chains him to the Dogmas, Roshan in particular is unable to see beyond his own experiences and his Creed and like Al Mualim with Altair, he manipulates him several times and hides the truths from him, with the difference that Basim was suffering inside himself and was literally wasting himself physically too, precisely because he was not selfish enough and was sensitive , if we want to see things psychologically, all the Assassins kill and also feel a certain lightness, like Bayek lightens his conscience with feathers and also Roshan, while the others alleviate their personal traumas by killing like machines. Basim, on the other hand, feels a greater weight on his conscience after he kills, he feels bad when he kills and when he kills Ning, who talks to him about loneliness and his personal strength, he sees himself in her and after that he was very sad and confused in the Bureau, because this man suffered loneliness and his memories of his past life are also lonely and cruel. So until proven otherwise Basim is a man who kills for the suffering that these people cause, but in fact he suffers from it making him the most human and empathetic protagonist of the series and moreover he is manipulated by Roshan so as not to let him discover the truth, preferring that Basim spoke with the air, this according to the his sense of justice, caused by the events of Basim's father, is a betrayal for Basim who from then on will no longer trust the Assassins, but will remain loyal to them, so much so that he trains Hytham, so much so that he saves the Mentor and the assassins left behind Alamut, probably without his intervention everything would have ended, so by acting with free will and undermining the Dogmas, as Altair did with his Mentor, he allowed the Creed to continue and when William tells us that Basim must not be forgotten because he gave teachings and questioned dogmas, that's why. Only someone like Connor, blindly faithful to the Dogmas, who killed more people than he saved, could get along with Roshan, in fact they both had a traumatic past, they killed their father and then simply thought of removing the problem by taking refuge in the Creed.
Most of the Paris Brotherhood was selfish, having conflicting priorities and being more interested in their own interests even if it meant murdering the problem people rather than working as a Brotherhood. Arno is no different in motive but more noble in execution since he was advocating for a long term unified solution.
Now I wonder where Kassandra would be. Throughout most of the game she was pretty selfish, doing most stuff either for money or revenge. But in the end of the Korfu story line she did decide to give up everything she had to hunt all of the Isu artifacts.

For me I'd probably say Edward. I mean for like 80% of the game all he wanted was money and nothing else, if that isn't selfish I don't know what is. I don't consider characters going against the Creed as selfish since I don't care about the Creed at all, they have proven that they can be very stupid like in Rogue. I consider a character selfish based on how they treat others and just their overall attitude. I'd also say Altair is up there since he killed an innocent man, and even in Revelations it seems like he cared more about the stupid Creed than his family, which for me family is above all else so that made him selfish in my eyes.
Tyranny Connor is more selfish in that he is very much swayed by the power he takes from the red bark tea, and it’s left ambiguous at the end of this version of him would use the Apple and its power more in the direction King Washington took. The DLC starts with a quote about absolute power, and for the starting point being an end of base game Connor to fall under the influence shows what the Apple can bring out in people.

In the main timeline Connor used the tools available, the Tyranny timeline gave him tools with more mental influence just as the main timeline gave Washington the mental strength to resist the Apple’s allure as he asks Connor to send it somewhere it cannot be retrieved after witnessing his potential self.

I think arno is more selfish than bassim, bassim sacrificed a lot to the brotherhood and at the end of Valhalla he even said he's still committed to the creed while arno never showd any consideration to the creed and used them to get revenge on de la serre's killers
I think Arno is pretty selfish. He immediately offers the full extent of the brotherhood TO THE TEMPLARS because he has a crush on a woman who was never gonna get with him anyway.
Connor doesn't take decisions that negatively impact him because he's selfless... he takes those decisions because he's stubborn and thick as two bricks. ALL he actually cares about is killing Charles Lee for his own (contradictory) selfish reasons. He doesn't do it because Lee's a templar, since he's more than willing to make peace with the other templars. He doesn't do it because Lee is siding with the British, because Haytham shows time and again that the templars are NOT backing the British. He doesn't do it because he considers Lee a threat to his tribe, because Washington ADMITS he himself attacked Connor's tribe, not Lee. His entire motivation is that he hates Lee because Lee was mean to him as a kid and therefore Lee must die. Hence, Connor's actions are led by a personal grudge. Connor is easily one of the most selfish characters on the list.

I dont know, Jacob tried to save people and be a proper assassin, while he did make mistakes, he tried. His sister just hooked up with Henry and complained when a task presented itself to her. She was only interested in her own feelings about trying to please her father's wishes. Jacob was actually interested in being an assassin and freeing London. Eventually, Evie left Jacob alone with the responsibility of bieng the mentor of a new brotherhood, while she ran away to India with Henry. Evie is probably a pro at gaslighting, considering she has fooled many fans as well, and she literally did nothing that didnt benefit herself. Unless the problem faced by others was right in front of her face, she'd not involve herself. Evie even would've let Robbert topping die, when she sees he is in danger, she simply says "what a pity but no diversions from the mission." She only saved him because she heard he had info she could use, and then she left him tied up. Jacob simply wouldn't have let that happen. Plus evie exploded lart of Croydon, lost the shroud key twice, and would've been shot if not for Jacob. She was a lazy, and gaslighting assassin. Certainly she is the most selfish assassin.

For me I'd probably say Edward. I mean for like 80% of the game all he wanted was money and nothing else, if that isn't selfish I don't know what is. I don't consider characters going against the Creed as selfish since I don't care about the Creed at all, they have proven that they can be very stupid like in Rogue. I consider a character selfish based on how they treat others and just their overall attitude. I'd also say Altair is up there since he killed an innocent man, and even in Revelations it seems like he cared more about the stupid Creed than his family, which for me family is above all else so that made him selfish in my eyes.
Arno is my favorite assassin and I just want him to be the best at something lol.

Tyranny Connor is more selfish in that he is very much swayed by the power he takes from the red bark tea, and it’s left ambiguous at the end of this version of him would use the Apple and its power more in the direction King Washington took. The DLC starts with a quote about absolute power, and for the starting point being an end of base game Connor to fall under the influence shows what the Apple can bring out in people.

In the main timeline Connor used the tools available, the Tyranny timeline gave him tools with more mental influence just as the main timeline gave Washington the mental strength to resist the Apple’s allure as he asks Connor to send it somewhere it cannot be retrieved after witnessing his potential self.

I think arno is more selfish than bassim, bassim sacrificed a lot to the brotherhood and at the end of Valhalla he even said he's still committed to the creed while arno never showd any consideration to the creed and used them to get revenge on de la serre's killers

I’d Say Basim
Connor doesn't take decisions that negatively impact him because he's selfless... he takes those decisions because he's stubborn and thick as two bricks. ALL he actually cares about is killing Charles Lee for his own (contradictory) selfish reasons. He doesn't do it because Lee's a templar, since he's more than willing to make peace with the other templars. He doesn't do it because Lee is siding with the British, because Haytham shows time and again that the templars are NOT backing the British. He doesn't do it because he considers Lee a threat to his tribe, because Washington ADMITS he himself attacked Connor's tribe, not Lee. His entire motivation is that he hates Lee because Lee was mean to him as a kid and therefore Lee must die. Hence, Connor's actions are led by a personal grudge. Connor is easily one of the most selfish characters on the list.
I like Connor but I kinda agree. I defintely don't think he's selfish, but pretty much his only goal for the entire game is to kill Lee.

I dont know, Jacob tried to save people and be a proper assassin, while he did make mistakes, he tried. His sister just hooked up with Henry and complained when a task presented itself to her. She was only interested in her own feelings about trying to please her father's wishes. Jacob was actually interested in being an assassin and freeing London. Eventually, Evie left Jacob alone with the responsibility of bieng the mentor of a new brotherhood, while she ran away to India with Henry. Evie is probably a pro at gaslighting, considering she has fooled many fans as well, and she literally did nothing that didnt benefit herself. Unless the problem faced by others was right in front of her face, she'd not involve herself. Evie even would've let Robbert topping die, when she sees he is in danger, she simply says "what a pity but no diversions from the mission." She only saved him because she heard he had info she could use, and then she left him tied up. Jacob simply wouldn't have let that happen. Plus evie exploded lart of Croydon, lost the shroud key twice, and would've been shot if not for Jacob. She was a lazy, and gaslighting assassin. Certainly she is the most selfish assassin.
Yeah I gotta agree, most people probably just agree with her because they think she's the best looking character in the series. I personally liked Jacob more than her.
