In our first video in this series, we looked at various factors that should be considered when thinking about retiring in Italy. These factors included taxes, visas, healthcare, and safety. And wears took a look at three properties in Cisternino, which is a small town in Puglia. In this retire in Italy video, we have two more properties in Cisternino that we think are better deals than the ones we looked at in the first retire for cheap in Puglia, Italy video.
There are also several factors that you should be aware of when thinking of retiring for cheap in Puglia, Italy. Italy offers a 7% flat tax regime to attract retirees. This is an incredible opportunity for anyone looking to retire in Italy. But, there are some conditions. This tax incentive is available to foreign retirees who decide to move to certain regions in southern Italy, including Puglia. To qualify, you must receive pension income, or passive income, from abroad and become a tax resident in one of these designated areas. This flat tax applies to all your foreign income for the first ten years of your residency in Italy. Additionally, you must live in a town in one of these designated regions that has a population of less than 20,000. Luckily, there are many such towns in these regions. Cisternino is an example, and we dive into two properties in this video. Also, there is a dual taxation treaty between the United States and Italy. Under this agreement, you won't be taxed twice on the same income. Finally, if you're a non-European Union citizen, you'll need a visa to retire in Italy. The Elective Residence Visa is the one you'll need to apply for.

Your videos are very well done! A couple of things. In Europe, the first floor is what we would consider the second floor so the first property show is actually on the first floor. The other thing to note is virtually impossible to get a mortgage in Italy for a for a national. If you were able to get a mortgage, it would most likely be a 50% down payment

Interesting! Thank you for the info. I will look into the second point on getting mortgages and percent down required in Italy for an immigrant. I believe you but just would like to look at the data (if it's discoverable).
