I do remember seeing this episode, I can see why it was problematic especially when they think just mentioning a surgery snack will send him into a trigger
Definitely lolll
I'm type 1 for 14 yrs and I watched the show and I was like whaaaaaaaaaaaat are they talking about
I feel like the nurse telling two random kids about "Oliver's secret" is a massive HIPPA violation
1000%
wouldn't the nurse be violating HIPAA by telling Lilly and Miley about his diabetes?
That’s true
Ahahaha yeah actully
I was thinking the same thing
I remember this episode and I swear it DID show on the channel more than once. Like I remember vividly the plot and everything and this was around the same time Disney had Nick Jonas in those commercials about having Diabetes
Yessss it did after it was fixed
You are right about the original episode airing on Disney Channel once! I remember the exact date: It was December 12, 2016, and after 8 years of never airing on Disney Channel in the United States, the original "No Sugar, Sugar" episode finally aired. I remember how surprised I was, haha.
Woooow how'd you know that so easily!
@Johnny2000s It's something that I've always remembered! 😊
Nah, the rerun would’ve been years before that. I stopped watching Disney Channel in 2013, hence the original would’ve been shown before even 2013
@@Johnny2000sthey’re lying😂😂
@@brittbc4215 I'm not lying. In December 2016, Disney Channel was airing a Hannah Montana marathon, and the episode aired then. Ask questions first before saying that I'm lying.
I definitely remember watching either episode. Hannah & Lola running around trying to get all the sweets was funny. The rest of the episode is just a huge…?
Definitely
Not tryna die on this episodes hill
I remember this episode. Disney Channel did a teaser promo about this was a 'lost' episode and how it takes place before Oliver and Lilly became a couple.
Omg yeah the promos
this episode aired in Canada, i don't think we ever lost it! I remember watching this one so many times, and i only watched Disney in the mornings so it must have played alot 😊
Omgggg people probably didn't complain there, America's weird like that
I actually did see the original version on On Demand. I was confused because it had both versions and I remember looking it up and seeing the controversy. It was pretty funny seeing the cast change ages in between scenes.
YES I REMEMBER
People dont know you can 100% have sugar as a T1D. But unless your dad (me) or someone close has it you wouldnt know what it is. Why would you in 2008?
True like at that time I sort of knew what diabetes was because it unfortunately runs my family but I never got it thankfully but they did mention it in school so that episode didn’t bother me that much however it does mean we all have to be careful what we eat cause these days there is sugar in almost everything we eat and drink
Oh interesting!
my only experience/knowledge of diabetes came from the Babysitters Club because Stacey was diabetic and they made such a big deal about how she couldn't have ANY sugar. (But, to be fair, those books were written in the 80s/90s so i'm sure advancements were made going forward, right? lo)l
i officially found my section of youtube
Yessss join us
I remember seeing this ep when it originally aired in the UK. It aired after s3 began here but they still had it credited as a s2 ep and I was so confused as to why Miley/Lily looked like s2 Miley/Lily but Hannah/Lola looked s3 style wise. Now it all makes sense lmao 😆 Thank you!
Edit: Also this ep is available on Disney+ (at least in the UK/Ireland)
Yessss the season 3 thing!!!
i’ve seen this episode more then once back in the day 2007-2008
Throwback then?
@Johnny2000s thanks for this video because as a teenager in the early 2006 and 2008 and 2009 I never understood why this episode looked like season 3 episode instead of season 2 .I just thought it was in season 3 because they were wearing their season 3 clothes and not season 2 clothes and I thought the reason why they were doing the season 2 into because of nostalgic before season 3 best of both worlds remix . Now that I know that I now guess that the product was showing Hannah 's new look before season 3 film .I like season 4 but I don't like the light for seasons 4 because when disney channel 's that so raven aired the light was like it was a live show like snl same with the suite life of Zach and Cody and Hannah Montana . But by season 2 of the suite life on deck and season 4 of Hannah Montana the light became like if it was shot like a movie and I never knew why . Don't get me wrong some sitcoms like the middle and Newhart and radio news sit com and fracher and Seinfeld could work like that but Hannah Montana season 4 .? I don't understand why . Tell me in the comments section guys what the deal is.
Same lol
My sister is 8 years older than me and always hated watching Hannah Montana with me, but she was a type 1 diabetic. So i have a very vivid memory of watching this episode with her and watching her get mad about it being so misinformed...
Hahahaha so it's true
I definitely remember. I myself was diagnosed diabetic at around age 16 right around the time this episode aired. My whole family (literally) has it. Even my uncle’s friend who lived with us for a few years has type 1. By the time I was diagnosed I had already known everything there was to know about both kinds of diabetes and knew how horrible this episode really was.
Wow! So this one hit home
I remember seeing this episode here in Canada with none of the changes you mentioned and when I was rewatching Hannah Montana as an adult in Disney plus I noticed it’s not there and then learned that this episode was controversial which makes sense honestly it was interesting to see what changes they made to appeal to the criticism tho
It's cool it's available
You could kind of tell it was meant to air in season 2 because all the scenes except for the scenes at the party and the end, they were in their season 2 style. But at the party they were in their season 3 style. I remember watching the original episode where Oliver had type 2 diabetes. Which I guess was changed because type 2 is rare in teenagers.
I’m pretty sure that’s what happened, I just remember seeing scenes about how in the no sugar sugar episode, the scenes at the party had Miley in her Hannah season 2 style.
Also while the original airing isnt on Disney plus, the “Uptight (Oliver’s Alright)” is on Disney plus.
Trueeee
I remember this episode I remember when I was diagnosed with pre-diabetes I actually thought about this episode 😅
It saved your life ? Haha!
I only remember them sitting on the couch and he tells them he’s diabetic. I remember watching them on Disney channel. I remember it being called “uptight, Oliver’s alright.”
Yesss
oh my god I remember seeing trailers for this episode and thinking it was gonna be about teen pregnancy 😭😭😭
Ahahahahahahahah
Don't lie.🤨 They DID air this episode back in the day.
It was waaay later because it was considered misinformation about diabetes
This *somewhat* reminds me of the episode of Shake it Up!
When this show aired, I was maybe 20? But sometimes background noise is background noise. I legitimately hated it.
Anyway, I paid attention a few times and recalled the red-headed girl losing her mind over dyslexia. I have dyslexica. Many people I know have dyslexia. It can make life difficult. They wrote her to bust out in an insane crying frenzy about it. Like her grandmother died.
"I can't tell my left trom my right! I'm a FREAK!" Like, lol, it was laughable, but also really stupid. The reaction, I mean. Never understood the dramatization of things that are common place and managable.
I also have dyscalculia and ADHD. I'm still okay.lolol
What's worse is Bella actually has it, the drama surrounding Cece having it probably made Bella feel bad or whatever about having it in rl and not just as Cece
OMG i didn't know that
@Johnny2000s Are you going to do something with this information?
Reminds me of the That So Raven banned episode where Corey's girlfriend begins smoking. I vaguely remember Disney mentioning they were going back in time for the episode, because I believe one of the main characters was dating another character in the newer season and the storyline wouldn't have made sense.
OMG YEAH
I do remember seeing this episode maybe once in my life
Lollll
I thought the banned Ep was the one where Hannah tried to found a new look because she was worried that her fans would leave her..... I think it was because the name of her idol was named Isis but changed to Ice
That one is readily available! I love that one
I remember when it came out I thought that they were doing an episode on diabetes because of Nick Jonas lol
LOL
I remember that episode very well, I didn’t realize there was controversy with it but i guess that makes sense
Yeah I didn't realize either until recent
I remember this episode, I have T1 diabetes and it was frustrating to see how they acted about it but I also thought it was nice how much they cared as friends. The parents can kinda f--k off tho cause ask any diabetic how parents and family talk to them about their diabetes lmao
i remember when it premiered. i had no idea they pulled it. Also im new here, were you born in 2000?
I'm in '97 !
@ oh interesting 🙂
This is the episode I mostly vividly remember watching lol
It's a throwback
Until the end, I was going to say, I’ve definitely seen this episode before **In the U.S. including every “banned” scene. But I was a Disney channel > Nickelodeon kid and lived on Disney Channel so I probably caught this episode during the Hannah Montana marathon rerun that you mentioned😂😂
Loved the marathons lol
I watched this as a kid who’s mom was diabetic and it bothered me
Dannngggg
yoo good vids. you use more 2000 ish music to match the vibe of the videos
Good idea
This episode played all the time in Canada lol
Ahahahah
A similar thing happened with Jessie when they made a joke about Stuart having a gluten allergy. And the Ross kids bullied him for being allergic to gluten. The original version aired a couple times but suffered a lot of backlash and the episode was pulled and re-aired with that scene was edited out. It was season 2 episode 18 quitting cold koala.
Ooooh really? Never heard of that!
I remember this episode when it first aired. Lol!
Danggg I'm jealous like I never saw this until Disney plus
i guess i only watched the redo version cuz i never heard oliver rapping about diabetes.
Ahahahah
I saw this episode! I'm from The Netherlands and completely forgot about it, perhaps it only aired once
I bet it did!!
Wait not available to watch of Disney plus? I just watched it on Disney Plus like last week?
Oh yeah it was banned but it's available
So I guess the edited one is the one on Disney plus? Because I’ve definitely seen it during rewatches. I don’t think I’ve seen the original episode.
Yeah that's after 2 reshoots
Actually the episode is on Disney+.
My bad I saw that
Please add clarification on this if it's needed, but isn't Type 1 Diabetes something that the majority of kids are born with? And for Type 2 diabetes, last I remember is that's something that can develop later on in one's life and that is usually due to blood sugar I believe. I believe blood sugar does factor into Type 1 Diabetes as well, but I know it's different as well, right? I do understand how that particular episode can be confusing and controversial as well.
Might need to see a doctor to ask!
Boy, has Miley changed.
So much
4:32 yeah I remember this episode
I mean to be fair a lot of men and women back in the 2000s hair crushes on their teachers I have my fair share of crushes on teachers so I get where they're going with it I believe if I remember correctly president Millard Fillmore in love with his teacher to the point he actually married her.
Yeah
i remember this episode
I remember this saw it a few times on. TV
I remember seeing this episode
Back on cable?
I remember seeing this episode on Disney + but they probably took it off
They didn't actually!
I 😁 remember this show is was good 👍 😊
Best show ever honestly
i remember this episode airing in my country, unsure which version aired since i watched the dutch versions
Oh wow!!
I love this Hannah Montana episode!
Wooooo!
This aired on Disney multiple times? Lol
It was reshot!
I have remember watching it I was 7 not sure it was in 2007 when it aired I remember some scenes like Miley & Lily were covering themselves with candy & in Kim Possible where Ron eats a lot of junk food he turns in a monster not sure is considered a controversial thing
Ahahahah I forgot the Kim possible one
As someone with type 2 diabetes i agree
Dang!!! You need to review this episode next
So there are two versions of this episode, and they are willy nilly floating around? How does the episode count if jt work fkr the series?
Ikr it's weird
Miley was so annoying looking back
LOL she had flaws
Make a vídeo about ben 10 generator rex heroes united
Hannah Montana was never good to begin with
Omgggg I disagree!
Is the girlfriend Kat Graham Bonnie from tvd.
I'm not sure!
Yes it is.
