Love seeing you cook, you are quite the talent, please take that as a compliment from a chef, always love your blog.
Actually watched through the sponsored segment. Love more cooking videos
nice video as usual! have you ever considered doing personal vlog type video? would be keen to see day in the life of Janice.. ie what goes behind the scenes
I have actually! I personally really like watching personal style vlogs on UA-cam haha
Great recs!!!
Thanks for watching !
loved your first encounter with the rice cakes .... great episode we eat lots of indonesian feed so this was really useful
Love all the street views, makes the video very elegant and enjoyable :) 💞
thanks Cindy - really appreciate it!
You describing that drink was the best Lool so funny and love your sense of humour
The flavour of that drink.. takes some getting used to haha
That's definitely a chef's knife!
Great video Janice, ABC sweet soy sauce is deplomb 😂
Did you try Java in Randwick? They’ve been around since 1984 and the ‘Aunty’ still cooking today 🤯
Yes, that place is fantastic!
“Tante Wawan” I think
It's amazing! I'm so lucky to be living around the corner from this amazing restaurant. It's quite a popular dinner destination around here 😊
I will have to check that out! Thank you 🙏🙏
Java restaurant is the best in Sydney
Im glad you posted this. I had indonesian last night because I was interested in trying it. I was also curious of quite a few places you went to. I went to Ayam Penyet Ria and had Ayam Penyet. I have to try Ayam Goreng 99 in Kingsford and Rosebery.
Cough syrup when I was a kid used to taste good. I remember there was this thick pink one mmmm 😄
'Cap Badak' (Rhinocheroes Brand in Indonesian) supposedly has a sarsaparilla taste.
Interesting way that you use the vegetable peeler JF..
LOL I saw someone do it on UA-cam and started adopting it myself - it does help me peel a lot faster haha
O M G... im cooking dinner and your making me so hungry~
Chicken veggies served best on separate bowls woof
Janice I actually started buying ABC sweet soy sauce a month ago! I like adding a table spoon of it to my lamb chops and rubbing it in before frying it. Delicious!
Ooooh I gotta try that! Any other recipes you’d recommend?
Hey Janice! Thanks for your videos and I'm always looking forward to seeing where you are headed to next. Just wondering, what is the camera gear you use for your videos?
I use a Sony zv1 for vlogging but for most food shots I use the Sony a7c! I’ve started linking my gear in my description too :)
Never tasted Indonesian food💁, thanks for sharing Janice👍👏👌✌️
Another great video Janice. 👍Do these places cater for nut allergies? 🤔
Everything looks good, but the Ramen looks next level
You must go to Pondok Buyong in Kensington! Best Nasi Padang around! My partner and I will go with you if you want more stomachs to try all the tasty things 🤤🤤
Ooooo thank you so much for the rec 🙏🙏
There are 2 types of martabak, the one with pancake and the thin one as known as the crispy one.
I prefer my martabak manis (pancake type) with just butter or margarine we called in Indonesia and condensed milk. It's absolutely delicious and stunning. You can adjust the sweetness by leveling the amouthbof the condensed milk.
Oh that sounds like a super delish combo!
My favorite combination of martabak topping is: chocolate, cheese, peanut, sesame. If I want something less sweet, I'll remove the chocolate. Sesame is kinda optional, but I personally love it.
for the Martabak's filling i'll suggest you just cheese or the cheese-corn combination also works well😊
thank you!
Hello 👋 Janice very nice look at very tasty 😋 Indonesia 🇮🇩 hope 🙏 it's smell so good for the Indonesia 🇮🇩 yummy 😋 food
Smell good 👃👃Indo not cool??? Yummy grub innit? innit? 👀✊Thanks for comment 😏🤭
wait where was the rendang? rendang is one of my favorite dishes around the world next to adobo, tikka masala, jerk chicken. rendang with coconut rice or with nasi goreng is my all time indonesian dish.
Will have to do a part 2 then 😌
badak is like indonesian sarsaparilla (bundaberg and schweppes have their own sarsaparilla drinks) but right! it does taste like medicine hahah. like licorice and a hint of sweet vanilla
Oh yah that’s a good description! It tasted like liquorice.. and I’m not the biggest fan of liquorice haha
@@JaniceFung me either! eugh licorice lollies are especially terrible..
i dont mind these drinks as much, though its not my first choice 😆 i reckon its also reminicent of root beer. try it with ice cream or as a float!
To all my sydney peeps - Where else do you recommend? Would love to check it out 🙏
You should try Medan Ciak 😊
Pondok Buyung in Kensington for Padang style
Good video
Cheers Joseph!
That drink similir taste with sarsaparila.what do you think Janice..?
when are you going to Cebu
Kamsiah ci Janice
That pancake is actually similar with 冷糕 in Hong Kong, I think your mum may know more about it.
I will ask her haha, thanks!
Another name for the Martabak is Hok Lo Pan in hokkien chinese, some area in Indonesia still use the chinese name for the food
Janice you should check out Shalom Indonesian in Sussex St in the city, Medan Ciak Indonesian in Sussex St in the city
Oooh Thanks for the recs ! 🙏
First🙌
Hoiyaa
Hellllllo
The Murtabak almost looked like an oversized crumpet..
Next time you're in Kingsford, go a bit closer to the city on the same side as Ayam Goreng 99 and go to wewok. Used to be Kingsford Chinese but reopened under a different name. Salt & Pepper Squid, shantung chicken & steamed fish with ginger & shallot is my standard order. Its quite a bit more expensive than it used to be but this is my happy place. Visit every time i come over from Adelaide.
Thanks for the recs!
those are sarsaparilla drinks
The drink call badak....the taste like AW softdrink
You should definitely do Pakistani food next!!
Ok! Any suggestions on restaurants ??
@@JaniceFungI’m not from Sydney but I have visited and here are some Pakistani restaurant recommendations:
Lal Qila
Shaahi Tandoori
Mazaidar foods
Sultan Palace
Pakistani foods you must try:
Lamb biryani
Halwa puri breakfast
Keema Aloo
Chicken or Lamb karhai
Fried fish
Keema naan
Saag paneer
Samosa chaat or papri chaat (this is so freakin bomb!!)
Mixed grill
Mango lassi
Falooda
Rasmalai
Kulfi
Masala chai
Hello salam kenal🤝🤝🙏 👍👍❤❤🇮🇩🇮🇩
Hello!
Hello Janice. Did you know that vermicelli is an Italian word that translates as “little worms”? Also, commonly in many Italian words with a single c - it’s pronounced ch as in cheers mate.
Thank you! I will remember for next time haha
Indo food not spicy? lol. I haven't been to Ayam Goreng 99 in ages!
I go easy on the sambal but it’s so fragrant and flavourful so it’s a delicate balance between what I want and what I can handle 😅
@@JaniceFung The last time we went to Ayam, we also got the chilli in a takeaway jar to bring back across the boarder. 😅
Please do Australian food next! Like eating kangaroo or meat pies. I don’t know what else they eat. Lol
Haha .. and lamingtons and pavlovas? Lol
16:20 can't stop staring at her pimple 😂😂😂 did she left over food??? 😅😊😢😂
It is a beauty
We need more Indonesian restaurants in Metro-Manila.
Is it me or is the chicken skewers look burnt 😢
It is you
Go for Medanciak. They offer a delicious authentic indonesian food. Go for their nasi kapau too. Their head chef as known as Mr Harjo is so talented and he was my junior high teacher. Medan is located in north sumatra of sumatra island in indonesia and it offer the best and well known indonesia chinese cuisine. You got to try it, because they also offer the best dessert of indonesia. My minister and mayor have visited there too.
Chews on chimken sticks for healthy strong teeths
Dam i won't buy cough syrup for that drink
wtf?
$17 for kangkung/morning glory! so cheap!!!
😂😅
That's not murtabak! It's called a Min jiang kueh originally a chinese hokkien or fujian breakfast snack usually with crushed peanut fillings and a little sugar, but these days people also put chocolate sweet corn condensed milk or other types of sweet fillings you can find it all over malaysia and singapore, real murtabak is southern indian flat bread with eggs diced onions meat fillings and pan fried with oil till bread is crispy. but aud18 for a nasi goreng wow that's expensive. In SG or Malaysia you only pay a third of that, but in indonesia you only pay a further third of that again LOL! I guess every place is different.
Its MARTABAK not MURTABAK. Two diff things. There' also MARTABAK TELOR which more similar to Indian's Murtabak.
Why she comments everything are tasty…off course there should be something that she doesn’t really like, she doesn’t have her own opinion.
If I really dislike something I don’t put it in the video
Jan, you look amazing babe.. hard to know what is more yum.... you or the food. :0 P.S cool hat at the start..love it !!!
*Cringe 🤣
