It's a bittersweet day as we bring this years TX2K to an end - not just an end for this year, but an end for Houston. After 9 years at Houston Raceway Park, TX2K will be moving to Texas Motorplex in Ennis, TX! We made the best of our last day, taking in the smells of the cars, the sights, the good people, and of course - some of the best racing in the entire world.

@@realMaverickBuckley the property the track sits on was bought out by the neighboring industrial warehouse factory complex (Katoen Natie).... Houston Raceway Park is in Baytown, TX near many industrial plants. It used to literally be the only thing out there, but now the growth of many industrial companies now surround it.
I am so exhilarated and thrilled Texas 2k race event is coming to Dallas next year! I have never been before, and I have never heard these type of cars in person. I am telling my family about it. Hopefully, I am still alive to see it. I am dealing with constant dizziness and vertigo since February, and still trying to maintain my job. It's all stressful. I have my oatmeal and raisins to watch this.

Sad to see these iconic tracks demolished. We are losing our tracks here in Canada at the same rate. We need to preserve these pieces of history for the next generation. !!!
I agree I just got into cars 3 years ago and I’ve only been to this track a hand full of times and now it’s gone it sucks
everything is going electric and gas is soon to disappear with 10 years by force. sad times we live in

I was born in 2000. Grew up at the track, was there every weekend with my dad, and almost every nhra event. I'm happy I got to grow up with this track, watch some of the best racing, meet some crazy legends. R.I.P HRP, WE WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU. Time for a burnout for the memories

I have been watching 1320 for YEARS! as a car guy, I think you for the content, everything you bring and have brought us over the years. its absolutely incredible where you guys started and where you have come. thank you for the evolution, thank you for not losing sight of where you started. Its has been a pleasure getting older with you guys, I wish Kyle and your team nothing but the best. You're living a dream!

I was there when Eddie Hill ran the 4.93 second pass. A thunderstorm came thru after and we all got stuck in the grass parking lot before it was paved!

I was there with my 9yr old and that mustang lifted off right in front of us.. it was easily the most memorable part of the day for him.

So sad seeing more and more tracks being closed down in the US.
Same here in the UK. 60% of our tracks have closed since 2013. We still have a handful and we have hundreds of WW2 Airstrips but the Airstrips aren't prepped.
@@realMaverickBuckley You guys will only be able to drag electric cars soon from what I've heard. The sport will die out in the UK.
@@mercmitsu No one is going to want to race electric cars and hardly anyone can afford to race anyway, which is why so many tracks are closing down in the first place. It would take a miracle to save car culture at this point.

All the way from New Zealand, I was at that 1988 NHRA race; watching Eddie Hill run a record 4.93 pass, just before that massive thunderstorm. My all time drag racing HERO, Bob Glidden holeshot the guy I dis-liked immensely (Wanker Johnson), for the Pro Stock WIN too !!
That McFlurry was actually probably the best sounding car too

In Quebec the main reason for closing tracks are new developements annoyed of the noises, but we luckily have a few tracks that are safe.
