Yeah they're one of those bands that were just quietly there the whole time. Nice stuff though. (Guess it makes sense I'd remember them now. Been rewatching jyu oh sei a bit. I watched it alone in a dark room, quietly , with headphones of course, (iirc) in my single room at the beginning of my freshman year in college. Looking back, I can't really blame myself for not being more outgoing, trying to meet more people. Well actually I did try, but maybe you get what I mean. The girls on the floor stared at me like I was a disgusting freak from the getgo. My family even saw this.)

I am so very sorry. My sister died almost 8 years ago. I miss her every day. I've lost track of how many times I've wished that I could simply talk to her, because she understood me far better than anyone else ever has. There are quite a few songs that remind me of her. We have to take comfort where we can❤
This song has that timeless kind of feel to it. I remember listening to this years ago. It still sounds just as good as it did the first time I heard it.
No way, I finally found the song thats been stuck in my head forever. My younger brother loves NHL games, and this song was in the soundtrack. He always sells the previous copy for the new one, and neither of us could remember the artist or song. I'm so f****** happy right now.
@@undergroundobjekt **NHL13** - my buddy and i are on season 8 of a gm mode that's been going for about 6 years IRL now. would never ever forget what game this song comes from :)
I've been listening to this song for over a decade. It was always just a 'hypothetical' song for me. I would get really sad listening to it even though I had never been through anything quite like it. Then at 33 years old, I did. The worst breakup of my life. Told I was unloved and unwanted over 1,000 miles away from home on a vacation that I was really looking forward to so we could spend some quality time together. I'll never forget her saying, 'see you on the flipside' as she drove away. A year later and I am still very much healing and making great progress, but this one still hurts. It's time I let somebody else lay at her feet, where I used to be.
Waiting 3 & a half hours on line in a light drizzle on a cool May evening in the early Summer of 2012 is how this night started for me... it ended with me being second row for this absolutely incredible show. Out of the dozens of concerts & performances I’ve been to in my life, this one will always hold a damn special place in my heart. Thank you Gaslight Anthem, thank you!
Same! Second row right in front of Alex Rosamillia. Such an amazing experience. Well worth the 3.5 hour drive from central PA to be there and then back.
i found them out through springsteen and yes, i understand how easy it is for them to become your number one band because i didnt have to think twice xD
Me too, mate, miss them everyday! That’s some screaming at the sky-type of music, my favorite band of all time and always great for surviving some love in decline! Stay Strong, brother!
10 years later an this song still speaks to my soul. Sends chills down my spine an has helped me cope with many negative emotions. That’s what music is all about. Mental revival and healing.
THIS SONG NEEDS TO BE REINTRODUCED TO THE WORLD!!!! THE LYRICS, THE MUSIC, THE PASSION!!! This is song always reminds me of being back in my hometown with all my family and friends and kids that I work with in after school programs. Nothing compares to being home and thank you Gaslight Anthem for making such an amazing song!
Takes me back to sitting in the living room with my Dad, Brother, and Cousin, playing NHL tournaments on PS4. The town in the video looks like my hometown which is just outside of St.Louis. Grey skies, blue collar, cold in the fall/winter. But not too cold to head over to what was the Scottrade Center at the time and catch a Blues game when we could score tickets. As time went on we moved out of that house, family all went their separate ways and I moved to Texas to be closer to the woman I love. You don't truly appreciate a moment until it becomes a memory. I'll forever be grateful for Gaslight Anthem and this song.
My ex-boyfriend from high school used to play his NHL game all the time and that's how I first discovered this song, and I've been in love with it ever since. During this period I was just stumbling into the beginning of my 9 year long journey of heroin addiction. Here I am sober today, and I still love this song. And I hope my ex boyfriend is happy and healthy somewhere.
This song always brings up the summer from 2 years ago to me. Just finished college, had a bunch of friends i saw often, all round good time. Its crazy how things change, but at least i got this song to go back to
Brian reminds me so much of Chuck Ragan and Chris Wollard in this video. He captures the thing that made Hot Water Music one of the greats-urgent, driving and melodic longing. Beautiful.
Im in loved with this band since I heard their music video of "The '59 Sound" played in TV. After that , I growed up to their albums every year and in loved with them all. Since, the last Get Hurt Album, I kinda missed these guys. I know Brian started good with his solo albums now, but come on guys. You guys need to make more beautifull songs again. Your songs inspired every aspect in my life and help me through the good and bad days. I missed you guys.
A comment on IG brought me here. We were discussing Springsteen and being from Jersey. The guy mentioned this band, so I figured I'd check it out... I like it.
I saw them play and hungout with them a bit in 2007 in a small venue behind a skateshop in my hometown. I didn't even know they were still around until I saw them on the shakey knees poster just now.
Major props to these gentlemen. I saw them once in 2008 at half strength when the bassist and drummer had personal matters attend to. The GLA remains the best opening to any concert I've ever seen. On my list of things to do before I die, seeing them in full glory is one up there along with going back to Sienna, Italy, the most beautiful and fascinating place I've ever been.
Listened to this for the first time in Pandora back in the day (2013) while laying on my moms couch after a long day of work. I was dealing with deep depression and used to listen to music so I could ease my mind. This song definitely helped by coming out a random day on an online radio.
This song is pure fire… and what happens in the song from 1:59 until 2:22 is like a tremendous musical orgasm for me. Literally feels like my mind blows starting there and increases towards 2:16… Insane really. Feels like all my energy unleashes there. Again and again and again. Rosamilia is my hero!
Coming back to this song after a long time without it. Brought me back so many memories of when I was young, the first time I heard this song, on NHL 13. I can tell this is gonna be one of favourite songs again
Heard this song a decade ago when I was trying to get over someone. Now I'm hearing it for the first time since I've been widowed. And it brings back a lot of the same emotions of trying to move forward in life albeit with a lot more conflicting feelings. Great song.
I did commercial fishing as a kid for work I met a kid named Dom wed take turns riding home while the other slept...I first heard this song using his mp3 player I listened to it on repeat to stay awake that night steaming home ....I'll forever think of him when I hear this song RIP my dude ..see u when I get there
That's great news! Hopefully you guys have been able to see them on tour the past few years. I've seen them 10 times the last couple of years. It's a surreal experience every goddam time 😂😅
I love this song. It reminds me of back when I was young and when punk rock was just barely starting to get mainstream life. It's like a perfect blend of late 90's punk and the passion of great bands like Against Me!.
This song, to me, defines the process of trying to get past a relationship. The kind of relationship that people tell you to get past and let go, but there is a part of you that wishes to linger. It hints towards nostalgia of the person you "used to be" and the realization of the person you are becoming. I loved this song the second I heard it, and have sent the link to my friends to listen to. First gas light anthem song I've ever heard and I hope they continue to make great music.
There's this other song that captures a darker side of this message. Like the dude had a more negative reaction to it before he could move on. Cloud Nothings- I'm Not Part of Me
Saw an article that said they’re coming off their 7-year hiatus. Immediately came to listen to this song again. I haven’t thought about this great song in a longgg time
Such simplicity yet the beautiful double meaning of the song consistently rings true every time I want to hear Gaslight, or every time I end up messing up another relationship. I have to let someone else lay at her feet.
I remember when I first got out of the Army and tried to see if my on-again-off-again girlfriend wanted to try again and she said she'd found someone else (100% my fault. Thought I could do better, then realized too late what a fucking mistake that was). Just realizing that it was real this time and there was no more us after we'd been through so much and had so many amazing times. With all the other craziness going on in my life trying to adjust to life after the army and not having her there after she always was for so much, this song just came out and the station I listened to played it a lot and it helped me get through that time.
I'v listened to many breakup songs in search of one that would help me feel a little better. This is the only song that has been able to make me feel just a little better about it all Thanks Gaslight Anthem! :)
The filming of this video was so much fun. I was about to graduate from college, had just finished my finals and decided to drive to Asbury Park for this filming instead of partying with my classmates. I remember waiting in line in the rain, they played this song 6 times throughout a full set, but on the first run through when the chorus hit and we all screamed "HEYYY! TURN THE RECORD OVER!" Brian had the biggest smile on his face. I don't think he was expecting people to take to the song as quickly as they did.
I haven't heard this song in about a decade. I've meant to listen to it several times over the years but somewhere along the busy dealings of life I forgot to listen. I cannot explain the emotion this song raises more than a general sense of melancholy .
***** your right but they make ppl listen to the same songs over . I always drop the needle again to these guys hahaha. I went from early 70s and 80s to gaslight anthem and no where in between
I remember when I first heard this band - it was actually this song. I was driving home when I heard this song play on the radio. I kept driving, completely missing my turn, till it finished and ended up about 10 miles away. Totally worth it.
I remember my dad loving this song years ago. (As far as I know, he still does) Every now and then, I've had it in my head. It was always just a guess that it was by The Gaslight Anthem, but I never searched for it. Finally found it
Have you seen my hands Just look at 'em shake And the song just keeps on repeating Drop the needle again And I dance with your ghost Oh, but that ain't the way I can't move on and I can't stay the same And all my friends say Hey hey, turn the record over Hey hey, and I'll see you on the flip side There you go, turn the key and engine over Let 'er go, let somebody else lay at her feet But have you seen my heart Have you seen how it bleeds And the nights are so long, baby Out here in the deep The tick, ticking of hours, lonely I hear the alarm I used to hear when she would sleep in my arms But better sense says Hey hey, turn the record over Hey hey, and I'll see you on the flip side There you go, turn the key and engine over Let 'er go, let somebody else lay at her feet And all my friends say Hey hey, turn the record over Hey hey, and I'll see you on the flip side There you go, turn the key and engine over Let 'er go, let somebody else lay at her feet Where you used to be Where you used to be Where you used to be here with me
I still love this song so much after several years, but I cant quite figure out why. its one of those songs that really grabs my heart but I dont know how lol
For me it gives me hope, hope that things will get better amd hope that the good keeps being the best it can be "turn the record over and ill catch you on the flipside"

I second this motion 👍
I hope you are doing okay these days.
Definitely helps
everything about this song, from the guitar riffs to the words makes me feel so strangely nostalgic and sad
We're back baby!!!!!!!!
Listening to this song in 2021. It never gets old.
I haven't heard this song in about a decade. I've meant to listen to it several times over the years but somewhere along the busy dealings of life I forgot to listen. I cannot explain the emotion this song raises more than a general sense of melancholy .
This band, these humans, their achingly honest melodies have helped me get through my darkest hours 🤘💚
These guys really need to be noticed more...
+S Diles especially good rock or music for a fact
+S Diles Listen to Kensington. Biggest band of Holland. And they're great!

So many memories. So many Lovers Lost. Stale!
great song. great lyrics. great voice.
I remember when I first heard this band - it was actually this song. I was driving home when I heard this song play on the radio. I kept driving, completely missing my turn, till it finished and ended up about 10 miles away. Totally worth it.
What a story!
this is definitely one of the best and greatest songs ever made and created of all time
Saw them live in Detroit last night! Sad to say I've never heard of them until last week, but they were fantastic!!
I remember my dad loving this song years ago. (As far as I know, he still does)
Every now and then, I've had it in my head. It was always just a guess that it was by The Gaslight Anthem, but I never searched for it. Finally found it
You're Dad's got great taste in music.
Just rediscovered this band - I wish they would get back together. They are so good.

I love this Song this album and this band!!
One of my favs
Have you seen my hands
Just look at 'em shake
And the song just keeps on repeating
Drop the needle again
And I dance with your ghost
Oh, but that ain't the way
I can't move on and I can't stay the same
And all my friends say
Hey hey, turn the record over
Hey hey, and I'll see you on the flip side
There you go, turn the key and engine over
Let 'er go, let somebody else lay at her feet
But have you seen my heart
Have you seen how it bleeds
And the nights are so long, baby
Out here in the deep
The tick, ticking of hours, lonely
I hear the alarm
I used to hear when she would sleep in my arms
But better sense says
Hey hey, turn the record over
Hey hey, and I'll see you on the flip side
There you go, turn the key and engine over
Let 'er go, let somebody else lay at her feet
And all my friends say
Hey hey, turn the record over
Hey hey, and I'll see you on the flip side
There you go, turn the key and engine over
Let 'er go, let somebody else lay at her feet
Where you used to be
Where you used to be
Where you used to be here with me
I remember this song from the radio back when it was released. Great song 🤘
I still love this song so much after several years, but I cant quite figure out why. its one of those songs that really grabs my heart but I dont know how lol
I agree, every time I hear it. It makes me remember 😕
Joel Mcintosh it's a song that always given me an engize for a song.
Rachel Walker same holy shit it always makes me emotional but I never know why
For me it gives me hope, hope that things will get better amd hope that the good keeps being the best it can be "turn the record over and ill catch you on the flipside"
Its a classic, thats why. The whole album is classic.
Rockfest 2014. Montebello, QC. First band as I walked into the grounds. What a wild fuckin weekend I’ll never forget that one.
Now that my daughter is 10, this song relates so much more now, sometimes life will give you what you need not what you want
Thanks Guitar Hero that led me to this song.
Undeniably one of my favourite songs can't see how someone can say this is anything other than amazing!
