I was surprised. Just shows the factory rear mufflers are actually OK......

Excellent video. The top end would maybe benefit from shorter intake runners(trumpets) and definitely from different Camshafts.

....except there are none of either available for the ISF......Bigger cams would help 😀

@@2URLex I reckon the Coyote Boss 302 type inlet would be awesome. The 5.0 is very similar to the ISF engine. Almost a copy....

Might be better off going for a RCF in that case - what do you think - better car ?

    • @SouthernCrossMotors

Nah...ISF is the car for me. With bolt on's and N/A, the ISF is the second fastest Lexus, only out gunned by the LFA.
I have checked Dragy leaderboard, Drag Times and others and not found an RCF or GSF quicker than my ISF, and certainly no 11 second RCF or GSF unless they use Nitrous or supercharging.

@@SouthernCrossMotors Mine has only exhaust and RR Racing tune. Takeda intake does not add any power so I am not counting that. My RCF runs 11.9 seconds @ 120 mph corrected for sea level density altitude. 12.5 seconds @ 4000 feet. 11.0 seconds for 60 - 130 mph at 4000 feet using Dragy GPS. I also achieved it with pump gas Octane 94. I am on stock headers as well so far from being a full bolt on. The only ISF that can be quicker than mine are the ones that have full bolt-ons including headers and tune as well as racing slick tires. A lot of the ISFs I have seen have a lot of weight reduction as well that run on the drag strip. There are RCFs that are achieving nearly 500 whp to the wheels completely N/A (with E85 tune). That is before we get into the platform evolution around the race track where RCF is a much better platform to start with for going around the race track.

@@robert7307 Mod for mod, RCF is faster. ISFs have been around since 2008 so there are simply a lot more modded ISFs out there because they have been around longer. I have an RCF and have many ISFs in our F club. A lot of them have weifht reduction like JLS System who runs 11.3 seconds with his ISF. He has over 300 lbs of weight reduction. I ran 11.9 seconds with just intake/exhaust and RR Racing tune. Stock everything else. It is generally accepted, RCF is quicker than ISF unless the ISF has significantly more mods than the ISF.

What do you think a good low klm 2014 ISF is worth now a days ?

    • @SouthernCrossMotors
      @SouthernCrossMotors  Рік тому

There are two for sale on CarSales here in Australia. One has 69,000 km and he wants $77k. Another with 100,000km is $79k.
I would guess a really low Km model with less than 30,000km would be near $85k or more.
Prices are crazy for the later cars.

Hey Mike, greetings from Perth. Only just found you on UA-cam. I had a very nice isf a couple of years ago , actually did a review on it on Ross Reviews, it’s the blue one if u care to have a look. It was pretty much full bolt on except RR intake. I had 18 inch light wheels on it.
I have had a bunch of BMW M cars in the past and think it’s time to go back to the most sensible ISF especially hearing about this new Loi transmission tune, wow those down shifts are way sharper. Could you tell me what it costs and is his tune better than RR as well. I am thinking I would do just headers , exhaust and tune , light wheels again., suspension etc. As you said maybe the intake is not really worth it.
    Thanks for any advice .
    Cheers.

You can run headers on a stock tune and get 40+ hp gain at the wheels. A true dual exuast like mice give another 10-15.
Loi's tune is far superior to RR as he is still developing it and can tune to your car's mods.

My isF has bubbles in the coolant tank but there’s no overheat u think it’s the valley plate?

If it is the valley plate you will see pink coolant at the back of the engine and running down the gearbox.
