Wow! You‘ve certainly nailed this difficult LK piece! Must be hard work on the fingers - left and right! LK‘s technique is amazing and you seem to have mastered it! 👍👏👍
Love your playing - comes close to the original and still you have your own style. I also love the sound of the guitar... very nuanced tone, when you first play only the high strings and then the basses kick in. Do you build these guitars yourself? Asking, cause I built my own guitars many years ago...
@@herring-instruments what is the scale length of this guitar? Is it also longer scale and tuned down like the Taylor LKSM? The last guitar I built during my apprenticeship was also a 12-string that I tried to build following the dimensions of the LKSM. Unfortunately the neck wasn't strong enough to deal with the 0.013 strings that I think Leo Kottke played on the Taylor... so I ended up with a beautiful looking guitar that is pretty hard to play... and bought me a LKSM years later (that plays like a dream...).
@@mikelord9860 No, I know that one. I review it every year during the holidays. It could've been a misprint in my edition of Fingerpicking Guitar by Hal Leonard; they credit this piece as Bach/Kottke.

Thankyou! Yes, this is the first and only 12 string that I built

This guitar has a 650mm scale, and built pretty robust with a total weight of 2.4kg
Nice! So, I heard this was based on a Bach piece, but I can't place in my head which one. Any ideas?
Leo did do a cover of Jesu, Joy Of Man's Desiring, is that what you're thinking of?

Thanks! Must be a missprint. Maybe because they credit the medley Crow waltz-jesu joy-Jack Fig as Bach/Kottke
Wow, well done! My nightmare song.
