Oh Ingrid! Dying paper is my happy place! I usually use coffee because I can't seem to make the tea work for me color-wise, but these are lovely and they inspire me to try tea again! I'm just getting organized after a move from the desert in southern California to the Midwest where I'm having to go about drying my papers very differently!! I found myself using the oven the last few times, and that leads to wrinkles, so I get to iron my papers, which seems to be my second favorite thing to do. I always think it would classify as one of those "oddly satisfying" videos! 🤣🤣🙌 TYFS sweetie! Hugs, MK 🤗❤️🤗 Wonderful little journal! I'm noticing that the envelopes, with their wrinkles ironed in, look like they've been pressed between the pages of an old book for decades! 🙌🙌 ...NICE!
MK, I completely know what you’re going through. in 2018 we moved from Florida to Michigan. Air was like learning everything over! Mostly I noticed it with painting and the time things would dry. Praying that you get settled soon and it begins to feel like home for you! Yes the crinkling was the best part! Ps. I do hope you try the tea again…I love it 💕 Thank you for all your kind words! I always love reading your comments! 💕
I like tea dying papers and I take my paper to the extreme when I do. I've never tea dyed envelopes, so you have inspired me to try it out and do it your way, but also add something extra. I also like coffee dying papers, and I also do that different from most too. I will be making what I call my coffee paint, and getting different flower stencils to decorate the envelopes with. Im excited to see how that will turn out. I also found 1 roll of that tape at Dollar tree, I will now forever keep an eye out for those to keep extas in my stash. And when I make a journal similar to the one you made on here, I will be using the handmade vintage tape trick you showed in the other video to put the pages together. Thank you for sharing, and I hope you have a blessed day 🤗
I love these envelopes/ They look just like a treasure from the past. I didn't feel at all well today so this video was perfect, just quietly watching you create these beauties and reading the Scriptures and comforting words while watching. Thank you so much for this.
I bet you can. Grass is always greener. I will tell you that when I did it I felt like it fell short, then when I watched the video back, I really liked it. Whenever in doubt, always make it and let it sit for a day. You’ll be surprised how much better you’ll like it! 💕
Hey Candi! I used a gel pen. If I had to guess .5 or .3. Another great option is a fountain pen. I’m not sure if it “matters” but I feel like a thin pen gives the look of a fountain pen or quill 💕
Yes definitely do! I also think that the hot water makes the paper take the ink quicker, or darker. The only thing I missed, that I would do next time is add a little splash of white vinegar, which I believe neutralizes the tea and helps to keep it free of mold and bacteria.. 💕

Lovely. TFS❤
Hi Ingrid! Did you use a regular ball point pen, or gel ink pen? I wonder if it makes a difference on how "vintage" it looks...

Very cool ❤

They seemed to turn out a lot darker when dried. True?

Do you leave in tea longer for darker papers or use stronger tea?
You can use more tea bags and leave it in for longer to get darker papers 💕
Goodness clear your workspace!
Did the envelopes get stuck like on the part with the glue getting wet? (Maybe I need to keep watching 😂)
It looks like it wasn’t an issue 😊
What did you use from the dollar tree.?
Can't see.
@@rhondaclofer6038 What do you mean Rhonda? 💕
I guess I couldn't see which stamp you were using.
On the third envelope you were halfway out of frame? 35 min mark
Too much ironing
It doesn’t look like anything
Hmm..maybe look harder. It definitely looks like something..it's beautiful.
I love the process ...
OMG MOVE ALONG WOULD YOU?..SHOWING 1 OR 2 ENVELOPES WOULD BE ENOUGH...
I enjoy watching 😮
And besides waste not want not ❤
There’s a fast forward option just for you!! 😊
Fast forward is a thing you know. Kindness doesn't cost a thing.
Interesting but far too drawn out. I dont need to see every envelope ironed. Just waste of time
Fast forward for goodness sake.
