@@rottenflesh7015more like more cats needed, also if you want to build this 10 times you should rly reconsider the location of this farm. Building it on the land will drasticly decrease your spawn rates. But if you build it in like an ocean and then afk like 120 blocks above it it will make it acctualy pretty damn good.
I recommend building your farms over water or place down a bunch of leaves for a better spawn rates👍🏼

My mob farm doesn't even spawn anything at all lmao that's the only farm I'm unable to make
To all the people saying underground or sky. Wrong, the higher a platform is less mobs spawn. Why not underground? Because there will be caves and so it's recommend to have a perimeter. The best alternative is to build it in a deep ocean so there are less caves, it's down to sea level and you afk it high up so caves aren't loaded

Note to anyone else building this: This is also a stackable design if you replace the slabs on the roof with whole blocks and make the next level on top of that, it can be stacked as high as you want.

@@tyzon1794 any up to date version I think, I made mine in 1.19.1 and it works on the latest. I assume it will work on any version where creepers are afraid of cats, it’s a very very simple design.

What do you mean? It works in java.
@@Celticshade Over 300 million Minecraft players *only* use bedrock (Mojoang's own stats). Java players are a very small amount compared to the bedrock players. This is why all tutorials should ALWAYS state if they're bedrock or java ONLY, or work on both. Various YTubers are actually very good at doing this.

Some major improvements: build the walls with stairs. This is important because stairs do not interfere with pack spawning so you will increase rates even if the pack cannot entirely spawn. Tinted glass or glass with a roof works as well.
Light up the area immediately outside the farm or there will be night time spawns. Also make sure that an area about 5-10 blocks wide is available but unspawnable for the pack spawn checks. Place the cats on chests. That prevents them from teleporting away.
Soul fire killing chambers are the way to go. That maximizes the damage the creepers take so new ones can spawn. Ideally drop them down about 7 blocks and don't use a water stream at all. There should only be minimal spawn proofing required.

If you are on bedrock use fence posts instead of carpet. For some reason the spiders will still spawn on the carpet, but not the fence posts.
Edit: on bedrock I also would not recommend building this creeper farm as for some people it doesn’t even work with the fences.

The mobs have less chance to spawn the higher the y value. Building the farm high you make it less efficient.

btw, if you have looting 3, you can do what i did where they go to a nether portal which drops them into a large killing chamber on the nether roof. It’s also means any other nearby farms on the nether room will be active too!

Somehow I've missed the whole "creepers are shorter than zombies and skeletons" bit. Now creeper farms make sense. I've never really had a need for pure creeper farm so I haven't looked it up before. The more you know.
how how u not had a use for a creeper farm yet. gp for elytra n tnt are both essential parts of the game imo
@@user-dw1fr By not playing vanilla since 2012 or so. Much less needed in modded and if gunpowder is needed then so are the other drops and a general purpose mob farm works better.

Edit 2: I rebuilt my farm and rates are much much lower than pre update.
Edit: it was patched last night. Should be good to go now.
Just an FYI, this does not work currently on bedrock as of today. Spiders are ignoring their 3x3 spawn and are spawning on 1x1 blocks again. Gotta wait til they patch it.
So it's a bug and isn't a feature they added?

@@Ashley.Gomez.I would keep the farm built, but replace the carpet with iron bars. It will kill rates but will work until they make a spider spawn fix.
Caves underneath the farm 🗿
That's why he has the tower 120 blocks up, mobs can only spawn within roughly 124 blocks of the player. Any mobs farther away from the player than that immediately despawn

Start this build with a 100 blocks or scaffolds tower, build the complete farm on top of that.. prevents most spawns nearby.. and all spawns below ground.
@@erikblaas5826 This is very true, but as of 1.18, the game's spawning algorithm favors lower elevation, so be aware that if you do this, your productivity will go down significantly

Better build it on the ocean, cuz all Monsters/Creeper will Spawn only at the farm

it's also useful to turn down render and simulation distance when afking so mobs spawn in chunks closer to you. if the area around the farm is lit up, you'll get more spawns inside the farm.
I have a idea to improve it, while I don't know why you have to afk in the sky. If you build 22 blocks up and build the farm off of it you can have them drop to 1 hp and not have to climb a bunch of scaffolding. Saving climbing and killing time. plz respond and tell me why going afk in the sky is necessary (I only play java but have played bedrock before)
it is because mobs spawning takes place at certain levels just like if you were above the surface and mobs were in caves below it just shifts upward but nice recommendations you made!
You have to afk in the sky because if you don’t, then mobs will spawn in the caves below and take up mob cap. There’s a big sphere around you, and you only want that creeper farm to be in your sphere otherwise the rates will be terrible
@@lukraniom8731 wow, i forgot about the comment i made here a month ago... anyways i think i ran through all, ALL of the caves below my base and lighting them up. oh and I got like 6 stacks of copper. blocks.
You could also make multiple levels.

What does the scaffolding and the platform with glass do? Not sure of the mechanics
it is an afk platform basically allowing the mobs to spawn down below and glass provides visibility with phantoms unable to attack you

it's for gunpowder which combined with paper makes fireworks for flying around with elytra

the multilayered creeper farm with waterfalls is so much better
if your creepers are getting stuck on the hoppers not dying place slabs above them to stop them from being pushed forward the gunpowder will still flow through

Good and compact tutorial and all, but my friend built this and we never used it. Its so much worth it building a big efficient creeper farm in the ocean so you have to light up less caves to get actual good rates
The only reason to build a creeper farm is for gunpowder but then if u need gunpowder there's better farms that tbh I have 0 idea how they work but the amount of gunpowder produced is insane

@@lakshyagangwar2451ill give you an avice that will tramendously help you. Asume that all the farms for java dont work on bedrock and the only ones that work are the ones specificly made for Bedrock.
Creeper farms also has minecart powerd rail dropper or dispenser to make the mincart move forever you must use slime to push the minecart then your done!

The reason you have to build up is because if you were in the ground mobs would spawn in caves below killing rate also mobs don't spawn if you are 24 blocks or closer
There is nothing aesthetic about 120 blocks of scaffolding
make sure to add more layers. you can do that by placing solid blocks on top of the trapdoors. it will help allot but this farm is still very slow (compared to other farms)

Best to build it 124 block above a deep ocean so the only mobs that can spawn are creepers you want to spawn.
When I bulit this I wasn't expecting it to be so Efecient since it's so easy to build but I afk for like 1 hour and got a lot of gun powder
When it is day time is the farm meant to be dark
Yes
Mobs can't Spawn in areas with a light level of over 14 you can check the light level by pressing f3 if you are on bedrock then you can't tell what it is but usually you want to have all farms dark so any light shouldn't be inside the farm
Also to make farms more efficient light up any caves near the farm because if mobs can't Spawn in caves because they are all lit up they will spawn in your farm instead
Also if the farm is on the surface light the area around it to make sure they spawn in the farm at night as well
If you've lit up all caves in a chunk around the farm you should be able to get a lot of gunpowder but really in this case it's dependant on the size of the farm

Looks like Chapman's farm. I've been using it for a couple of years now.
If you built this to the deep ocean biom is bettel, less cave you need to light up, and you not need this high.
Even better on bedrock you can make a trident killer which applies your looting 3 sword if your holding it

if you use a trident killer instead, holding a looting sword out while you farm will give you extra loot
