I think this shows the problem the creators had with dreams. Not only do they demonstrate creativity here in LBP, but they show off how fun the levels can be when you play them. Dreams focused so much on creativity and how advanced the tools are that it frightens people watching it. It focused solely on cinematics and single play (which makes sence, it's a single player game) that it doesn't do a good job of being fun. You can hear the Audience laughing when they make there sack people get up to shenanigans. It's becuase of that mentality that made LBP fun and interesting to people. They loved how easy it was to make something, they loved how easy it was to play and have fun, they loved how easy it was to join in on that fun, but most importantly they loved how funny the game was and that level of charm is not present in Dreams. While Dreams is amazing, it lacks the charm and personality that LBP has. All of that is left up to you, and that's kinda dumb. Mario Maker may be droll and boring compared to LBP and Dreams, but it had character and you know what you're getting when you buy it. Just a bunch of Mario levels. If you like playing Mario games that's basically all you get, infinit Mario levels. That's not much and it gets boring tbh, but it's something. LBP had a heck of a lot more to offer, especially in variety of character. There were infinit themes to explore and create. Dreams may have that, but it's not present in the main game... AND it requires online service to experience it. I know the same can be said for Mario Maker, but that's total BS. We shouldn't be accepting of this type of behavior in creative games. LBP1-3 and the handheld titles don't require you to play online to have fun. They are still great games by themselves. Dreams and Mario Maker are not... all you can do is create things... which is honestly boring. Now to be fair Dreams let's you make movies, that can be entertaining tbh. But it's still so much work. If you can't share the movies you create... it feels pointless.
This comment is just wrong in a lot of ways. You can make anything in dreams and its not just a movie maker. Also you need a online connection in lbp 1-3 todo the things you list. Like play so many different themes and play with friends. Which you can also do on dreams too btw. Just an ignorant comment.
Dreams has the charm of a plank of wood, it might as well just be an engine and nothing else. It’s substance over style. So focused on just being an engine that it loses all the charm this series has.
It has been said that soon LBP 3 and all the DLC for all the games shall be delisted from the PlayStation Network stores , goodbye to you LittleBigPlanet , one of the greatest video game series that just deserved so much greater and to be treated better than this . I hope that you will never get forgotten in the future and that somehow your community will rise back up and all the ugc levels shall be playable again . < 3
I’m kind of sad that the effect where the camera focus on an object and blurs out it’s surroundings, or racks its focus, was left out of the final game. It kind of adds a dream like quality to the overall presentation. Also I like how the lighting looks in this version of the game more, and the bobbling heads on Sack people looked fun. Of course the good thing about Media Molecule’s new game Dreams is that it might be possible to recreate these things now.
That's actually still in the final game, it was just taken out in LittleBigPlanet 2 for whatever reason. If you look at LBP1 it still has that nice bloom effect.
in this version of the game, it seems that the gameplay controls are final. With the dpad he was probably reffering to the 4 expressions sackboy can make
Fast forward to this day 04th September 2020 where Alex Evans steps down.
Thank you for everything Alex Evans, we will always remember your passion.
100% A legend
What, did Alex leave MM in 2020??
@@rihasanatrofolo2472almost all of the original media molecule team are now gone
Let's fast forward to 2024 and LGB 3 is shut down
aw man this brings me back
It was a beautiful game. It created my childhood. I wish I could play it again.
Back to where? Argentina? Lol jk
I agree, tis goog game
Its crazy that 16 years later, this demo is still pretty technically advanced. Modern engines still haven't created these kinds of simulations.
...yes they have? You just don't play games where you primarily interact with those simulations. We've had this stuff even before LBP release.
We have gone way past these kinds of simulations? Rose tinted glasses?
Bro is just talking
YEEEESSSS
The dawn of a new era for PS3. The great comeback.
Dang I remember watching this as a kid, yearning for the game's release
I think its interesting how much this build resembles Dreams in some abstract aspects
I remember first seeing this as a kid and being blown away.

You could always just play Dreams community-made levels and not create any yourself.
no multiplayer was dreams' biggest downfall
I watched this so many times waiting for this game.
I miss this series.
they did great. im so proud

Me noticing that the level is created in more than 3 layers:
HEY THATS ILLEGAL
This game is the reason I bought a ps3
R.I.P. LBP
They predicted Annoying Orange
I thought this was the most amazing thing when I first saw it. Can’t wait for Dreams, which is the spiritual successor to little big planet.
Awesome. Nice upload! Really has changed a lot since initial inception. Glad it's still going strong today.
This single video made me fall in love instantly, and i was right to do so
Man I remember this game... Had so much fun 😀😃😃
I still remember watching this live
I was 12 when I saw this the first time

Странно... Так легко сделать 3D

I can't believe people fell for the gimmick of "creativity".
Fucking uninspiring shit of a game.
