Just did a quick research on Ara Parseghian. He won 2 national titles, Nick has won 7 😭😭. I am a big Notre Dame fan. I went to watch my first college game there 35-0 vs Nevada. It was amazing. Loved it.

Between stallings and Saban, there was Mike dubose (sucked), franchone (sucked), price (never coached, bought a hooker with a university credit card), and Shula (mediocre at best). Saban inherited the 8th or 9th best team in the sec, and that was before it expanded. His hard work and recruiting built bama into the monster it is today. I'm a life long bama fan, and we absolutely sucked for 15 years before Saban, with Shaun Alexander being the bright spot.

Fran didn't succ. He just underachieved and left the program a little early.
Actually Franchione had the program going in the right direction. He improved his win total every year despite NCAA sanctions and then shocked everyone by leaving for A&M and they did not ‘suck for 15 years’as you put it. In between 1993 and 2006 they only had 3 losing records and they won at least 10 games 5 times.
Bro, Franchone was LIGHT YEARS better than Shula. Fran got the program going in a really solid direction, he just bolted. By far the best of that bunch you named.

It’s really hard to determine who’s the GOAT of coaches in the college scene because championship success is directly related which school can get the most top recruits.

@@jamarr-6022 for all we know Lincoln Riley could be the new “goat” since he’s attracting so many recruits to USC. USC could be the new Alabama and win multiple championships with the new name and likeness rule. I think coaching ability needs to be weighted more in the GOAT debate, rather than just ability to recruit.
That's kind of why I'm annoyed with UConn. Geno is a great coach, but when everyone wants to go to your school, you don't have to be the best coach, anymore. Having the best players and the most talent covers up any flaws you might have as a coach. Even UConn not winning in the last couple years doesn't change the fact that parity is almost non-existent in women's college basketball. I remember Mo'ne Davis getting famous for playing in the Little League World Series and she said, when she grew up, she wanted to play for UConn basketball. At this point, I see every college football player as either someone who plays for Alabama or someone who didn't make the cut.

I'm a die hard Alabama fan, and I love college football. I've looked at every tradition out there, even Ara Parseghian's run at Notre Dame. I will agree that is a nice run, and he did defeat and own Bear Bryant's Crimson Tide teams of the 1970's, what many media considers as Bryant's decade. But you are not going to convince a man who spends the majority of his time looking at historical data for Notre Dame, Alabama, and all of the great programs, head coaches, players, and crazy things the college football fan will do when it comes to their team. And it gets none as crazy as the SEC, especially Alabama! And in Alabama, the SEC, and all over this college football landscape, even my best friend who lives in northwest Indiana and is a die hard Notre Dame fan, the same love as I do for Alabama. And he would call Mad Dog crazier than a conspiracy cocktail!!! Nick Saban is THE greatest, THE GOAT! The Best in the present, and he will be in the future. And I will keep saying this until they listen- "Calm down haterfans! Just might as well sit back and enjoy what ya got. Because this is what you're gonna see Saban for possibly another 7-10 years, and this Alabama run for another 15 yrs. Cause Saban isn't going to leave Alabama in a poor position. I guarantee they win at least one or two more national titles after he retires. I'd just about guarantee it, but we know there is none of those right? I gotta tell you Mr Mad Dog, you're wrong! 2010- 10-3 (5-3) lost 3 games by a total of 21 points (@SCar 38-21 @LSU 24-21, and Auburn 28-27)
2011- 12-1 (7-1) Didn't win west, but won National Title. And I think people don't understand that makes it even more proof that Saban is the greatest.
2012- 13-1 (7-1) SEC, and destroyed Notre Dame (12-0) in the Orange Bowl for the BCS title.

2014- 13-2 (7-1)(SEC, and was #1 in initial CFP rankings.

He is 7-1 in SEC championship games, and has made 9 trips to a national championship game, and is 6-3 in those games. This isn't counting @LSU either! All ALABAMA! Even the Dolphins was a success for Saban. They were 4-12 before him, went 7-9 a couple years with him, and then went 1-15 without him. That team was just terrible, and the medical team failing Brees’ physical didn’t help.
And I went 16-0 an won a superbowl with them on madden 06. Never happened again
