  • GRAND TETON 8K is the culmination of nearly a month spent filming in the spectacular Jackson Hole Valley and the foothills of the Teton Mountain Range. Encompassing nearly 500 square miles, Grand Teton National Park boasts an awe-inspiring array of pristine wilderness, glacial lakes, winding rivers, diverse wildlife, and the magnificent Teton Range. Journey with More Than Just Parks as we explore a land dominated by towering peaks, apex predators, and majestic beauty. This is Grand Teton. Filmed primarily in stunning UHD 8K.
    To make this film happen we spent nearly a month in Grand Teton National Park during June & July. Of all the films we've shot this one features the most wildlife. We captured bison, elk, moose, bears, foxes, beavers, and more.
    Grand Teton is situated just South of Yellowstone and while it still sees a significant amount of visitors each year it is far less than its northern counterpart. As one of the most stunning mountain ranges in the world Grand Teton is in a class of its own.
    Wild & Scenic Rivers, abundant wildlife, jaw-dropping vistas, and high-alpine beauty comprise this western wonderland.
    If you're planning a trip to Grand Teton National Park please watch this film and feel free to reach out with questions etc about planning your trip: ask@morethanjustparks.com

    I 3 weeks ago I returned to a beautiful small island off Scotlands West Coast from a solo 2000+ mile USA winter road trip road trip.
    A loop from Rapid City ND, to Badlands NP , down to the Nebraska pan handle, west along the Oregon Trail into Wyoming … from Caspar to the majestic Teton… on through Dubois, a semi frozen magical Thermopolis , Devils Canyon overlook, little Bighorn, Devils tower the Black Hills and , home again to Tiree with a million cherished memories …. This art simply brought tears to my heart , it is stunning … and has managed to help with the post humbling adventure anti-climax … I am begining to understand how blessed I am to have had the journey and every also every beautiful place along the way to myself ( frostbite or not LoL)
    Wee embers of emotion keep our memories alive , your video give oxygen to those embers.
    siincere best wishes K

    Infiniment merci Chère Amie Fanny
    Je te couvre de tendre baisers et mon amitié chaleureuse et sincère est près de toi.

    How was this shot in 8k? Am I the only person here who doesn't know something here about camera gear that does this?

    • @arthurvanstrien
      @arthurvanstrien 7 років тому +8

      Look it works this way:
      1,920x1,080 = 2,073,600 = to capture full HD you need a sensor of about 2.1 megapixel
      3,840x2,160 = 8,294,400 = to capture 4K UHD you need a sensor of about 8,3 megapixel
      7,680x4,320 = 33,177,600 = to capture 8K UHD you need a sensor of about 34 megapixels
      Your average consumer camera can take pictures of 12 megapixel. If you make a timelapse of those pictures, and stick them together you can create a 4K UHD video. Some sony mobile phones already have sensors to capture 20 megapixel photo's. So on the professional market are camera's available that shoot 34 megapixel photo's, and they are there for a while now. The only problem is that they are very expensive. 8K UHD video camera's are available a bit shorter but are there too now.
      The reason that we are all not watching our television in 8K is not because the gear to capture it is not there. It is the enormous size of all those files that is a problem. They are so large most editing software will crash. Also most internet connections are not able to download or upload 8K content even on youtube where the compression is very high. Also the processing power needed to render the final product of such edit is enormous.
      Although the title of this video says 8K, the video on youtube is in 4K. The description says that the video was primarely shot in 8K and I believe the maker for that. But the final 8K product is not here to view on youtube. So somewhere between the shooting and uploading to youtube went something wrong. UA-cam supports 8K video and with some optimalisation from google's chrome browser most high end PC's can now smoothly play the 8K content. 4K to the masses is starting to get mainstream in some countries. 8K to the masses is thill the bleeding edge of technology. If netflix would start to stream all there stuff in 8K today the internet would have capacity problems in some countries and struggeling in other. Thats because it is 8 times the amount of data of an full HD video per second.

    • @DiePixelkrieger
      @DiePixelkrieger 7 років тому +1

      which means 33 mp for 8k...is there a videocamera capable of 8k already ? or are just the timelapse parts in 8k ? and the film-parts in 4k ?

    • @MellowYe77ow
      @MellowYe77ow 7 років тому +1

    • @b1lleman

      Arthur, great info from you. But TBH chrome doesn't cut it with 8K videos since it doesn't use the GPU enough. I've had much better results with EDGE on Win10 where even 60 FPS 8K content is decodable without frame drops on my GTX 1080TI (but only just, about 100% video decoding engine use @ GPU-Z)

    • @arthurvanstrien
      @arthurvanstrien 7 років тому +1

      I hope you are kidding. Otherwise it is probably your internet connection. If it is not you are using a potato and I feel sad for you. If it is not a potato but anything better than a single core you seriously need to look to your PC if something useless is not using up all your CPU power. Smarphones can process this data in 1080P too and those processors are not that powerfull.

    • @artinahmeti5821
      @artinahmeti5821 7 років тому

      Arthur van strien phones can proces it i those high rates becuz screenz not to big.the bigger the screen...the more power it wants to eat.that how it works...but youre still right...he need a better pc

    • @arthurvanstrien
      @arthurvanstrien 7 років тому +1

      The size of screen of phones does not matter. The resolution of those screens does. Most smartphones have a Full HD resolution and most of them can process youtube video's in full HD. But that is not all, a lot of flagship smartphones have a resolution of UHD/4K and process youtube video's in 4K. So yes there are (expensive) smartphones that can process this and a lot of people walk around with one.
      Because your PC cannot process this and you probably do not have the money to buy a new one, maybe buy a Raspberry PI? The new models can process 1440P video.. and they cost around 30 dollars. Then you can browse the web a bit better and watch content like this in reasonable quality.

    • @artinahmeti5821
      @artinahmeti5821 7 років тому

      Arthur van strien it does matter.i the size is smaller it isnt a bigger problem to get it at HD

    • @arthurvanstrien
      @arthurvanstrien 7 років тому +2

      I hope you understand that I am talking about the fact that the amount of processing power needed for youtube video's increases when higher resolutions are displayed. If the screen is as big as a building or 2 inch it does not make a difference as long as the resolution is the same.
      I am not saying that a phone with 4K resolutions will make a big difference in image quality compared to a full HD phone. Personally I thing its useless unless you are using something like a gear VR.
      By the way this might be helpfull:
      www.howtogeek.com/227940/why-youtube-in-chrome-and-firefox-is-draining-your-laptop%E2%80%99s-battery-and-how-to-fix-it/
      A quote from the article:
      "To get more efficient playback, you could just switch to Safari, Microsoft Edge, or Internet Explorer. But you don’t have to do that. You can install the h264ify browser extension for Chrome, which will force Chrome to request H.264 videos from UA-cam. They’ll look the same, but Chrome will play them back more smoothly."
      I actually learned from this article that the CPU problems only appear in chrome. I knew the load scaled at higher resolutions but I genuinly thought that google switched to a non hardware accellerated codec.
