- The B-Line bike park, a world-class facility that has been instrumental in helping athletes build skills and compete at the highest level in freestyle mountain biking and BMX, needs help. Due to rising operating costs and inflation, this incredible facility may have to close its doors. This would be a significant loss for Calgary, Alberta, and Canada. The B-Line bike park caters to top performers and average riders looking for a fun way to spend their afternoon, children who want to stay active and healthy, and anyone who wants to have a great time. Therefore, supporting this fantastic facility and ensuring it thrives is essential. Let's all come together to help keep the B-Line bike park open and ensure that it remains an essential part of the mountain biking and BMX community.

It would be pretty rad if you went and rode your bike at B-Line and help spread the word of this awesome business
RIP B-Line ❤️🥲
They will be missed in the BMX/MTB community in Calgary forever.
That they will, definitely going to make winters way too long
Please save our park! This is the one escape I have left. Everything said in this video is so accurate it hurts. Long live Bline ❤ thanks for making my dreams come true all these years.
It is such a stellar community! Hopefully it will have many more years of growing
All of us just want a place to ride together. Thanks for the support this vid is awesome. Hopefully we get to keep going 🙏
I haven’t been able to ride here yet, but I absolutely am not letting this place close before I get the chance
Definitely make the trip B-Line is well worth it 👌
Thank you for this video Tristan ❤️ long live B-line
Somebody has to get the word out about how incredible B-Line truly is
Nice work!
Thank you!
I hope they don't close. My five-year-old son loves this place and always asks to go there (we go at least once a month). It's great to have a place to go ride during the fall and winter.
The best thing to do is keep bringing your son to ride and if you feel inclined share this video with your friends who may have kids who would enjoy this facility as much as you and your son ❤️
Just bought a bike yesterday to start riding here.. never got wind of the closure until today very very disappointed this place seemed like heaven for bikers wish I had the chance to ride here... maybe some day we can make something like thos happen again
People are trying to get something up and running once again. Hopefully they can make it happen. Until then during the summer months chestermere has a great park to get acquainted with that new bike
I miss B - line 😢
I think we are all in the same boat. That place was awesome!
I've ridden with a bunch of the people you interviewed.
Nice, a bunch of awesome people!
This needs to be played for city council!
Or some billionaire who likes bikes. But I think city council is more likely. Thanks for taking part James!
@@Tristan_Proctor Thanks for letting me speak... Unfortunately, you're probably right about city council 😕
Sad to hear that B-Line is struggling and may close. It's so hard for small community-focused businesses to thrive in our modern world.
Almost impossible when you need so much space to operate a facility like this one sadly
gonna do everything I can to get a new one opened up. Not kidding moving from Toronto to Calgary and love the community. Just have to get the business model right. I hate seeing this. It's not all about making a ton of money folks, it's about having fun!
I’ve heard there is hope of getting something going again by winter 2026. Hopefully it works out so we can ride all year once again. The community of this place is unbelievable for sure!
There is so many friend groups and people in general that will be separated because of this, my whole biking group will be split up.💔
Hopefully it doesn't happen. B-Line is an incredible spot to go hang out with friends and meet new people
Sweet video, have you talked to Ryan about organizing a crowdfunding campaign? I am sure we could raise a lot of money.
I know Ryan isn't fully on board with crowd funding but if some one were to take charge and make it happen I would definitely throw that link up everywhere! Thanks a lot Andrew
Nooo im moving there in 2 months im gonna miss out
That is brutal timing! Hopefully a new bike park will take its place, and by then the outdoor spots should be ready to ride for the summer 👍
Their landlord needs to get some sense ❤ the video
The landlord has tried their best but sadly it hasn't been enough. Thanks a ton for the kind words and for watching
I'm curious what is the biggest hurdle for this place? Is it the need for more members/use? It is there something else threatening the closure?
Perhaps a good business/marketing plan could be the answer? I'd be happy to help
Operational cost tripled since they opened. Plus they were forced to shut down and
/or run reduced capacity for like 2-3 years
Definitely the biggest hurdle is durastic increase in operating cost. It will be a tough battle but hopefully they can attract a lot more riders. I have the website linked up in the description where you can reach out to b line directly and learn more about their situation
... i was born in calgary.. and i always thought Canada Olympic Park would do indoor cycling.. this can be.. no.. is a good thing.. re-locate... they already do bikes anyways.. might as well piggyback on the alpine sports industry..
It would be pretty awesome if they would go for it. It seems these days winsport is moving further away from biking for some reason, likely liability. I heard that unless you are in a program through winsport you can't even ride the new jumps they built a few years ago. But it would be a lot cooler if they did go all in on biking
The place looks great but their pricing was outrageous. A season pass at a downhill bike park is around $300-$400. They were charging that for a monthly membership.
For the amount of time you could spend riding here it was quite a bit cheaper than any downhill park at 100 a month
@@Tristan_Proctor month pass is $245, 10x pass is $300
Women!!!
The wheel mill community feels your pain . This is bullshit !
It is pretty brutal that so many bike parks and action sport training facilities can't get enough support to survive. Hopefully some day this will change
It’s honestly our only option …
