For some reason I uploaded the raw recording of this video earlier today. A few minutes of me drinking tea, clearing my throat, talking Dutch and restarting my cast several times. Amazing.
I was so disappointed. Saw the new video. Opened it. Paused it. Made a sandwich. Sat down pressed play. Nothing happend. Reloaded the page. Private video. Waste of a sandwich...
Serral thinks you suck. You're still good enough for SERRAL to analyze your game. It's like Kasparov or Fisher telling someone they suck at chess. Them noticing you even exist on the scene means you actually make a mark.
But still, ironically or not point stands. Lowko is good enough to be put down by Kasparov or Fisher as a noob. That means that he is already 0.X ish percent of all ranked players and fall into category where his name is known by very best.
Serral dont lose Mining Time, when he is pulling the drones away from the minerals. He just do a tactical desicion that he wants to delay that the Base run out of minerals.
The Best thing was that he didn't proxied in the last game, but his opponent prepared for it. The opponent had his spirit so broken that instant GG-outed the game when he saw there was no proxys.
Fun fact: Apache pilots can actually look in two different directions at once, its due to the HUD they have over one eye. There's a book by Ed Macy - an Apache pilot from the Afghan War in 2006 - in it, he mentions that he is actually able to read two books at once due to his training although it does give him a headache after a while. See 57:05 for why I'm mentioning this :)
Man, I really appreciate and love your videos so much. You being a reason of me watching sc2 for the first time 3 years ago was some of the best things that happened to me and not only sc2, your more lowko channel is so fun and good. Thanks lowko, really love your vids keep it up!
I feel like this is a pretty unpopular opinion, but im kinda loving the tvz mech meta, zerg feels really zergy and terran fighting for their life for the whole match is fantastic
Hi Lowko I think you forgot something so let me do it for you: Hellllooooo evvveryone, his name is LOWKO and WELCOME to a top level game of professional starcraft!! gotta love it ;)
I still remember that best of 7 where the opponent thought no way he would cheese 4 games in a row and in the 5th where the opponent said ok he will cheese he didn't
that's really an interesting perspective.I too just say wow zerg can just remax and continuously smash against terran. But yeah looking at it from the other side, it means zerg has to do so much just to keep the terran in check. If zerg is equal economy to terran at late game they already lost.
Thing is, Zerg can always expand faster than both Terran and Protoss. That's their playstyle. Their Hatch is only 300 mineral compare to the 400 cost of CC or Nexus. One Hatch can instantly birth 3 or more Drones to saturate their bases, and as they expand, they are also building up their army simultanously as Hatchery double down as unit production as well. There's a fun little comparison like this: If Terran need 3 Ghost at once, they need to build 3 Barracks, attached with Tech Lab, and a Shadow Ops to bring out 3 Ghost at once, and should they transition to Mech and wanting 3 Thors, they need to build 3 Factory attached with Tech Lab, and an Armory. While in Zerg's case, they only need one Lair and a Spire for Mutalisk. Should they want to transition into Ultralisk, they just need to upgrade one of their Lair into Hive, build ONE Ultralisk Cavern then silmutanously 3 Ultra would be produced. Yeah they don't need to invest much in unit producing building like Terran, their expansion is relatively cheaper than most, their Static Defense is not so Static which helps in expanding as well. Swarming the enemy and outmining everything is already their playstyle. If you're playing Zerg and letting your opponent has equal eco as you, you're doing it wrong
@@hoanganphanle well, zerg buildings are cheaper because they lose a drone, you see Cost of the original drone: 50 min Cost of hatchery: 300 min Cost of replacing the drone: 50 min Overall cost: 400 min But regarding how they can change gamestyle you're right. Zerg is all about controlling the map, finding out what the opponent is doing, and then try to hard counter it. Which leads to the main thing about playing against zerg: you just cannot outmacro them, you are just going to lose in the long run. You need to constantly harass the zerg player, bringing down their drone and expansion count and keeping them at bay. The big achilles heel of Zerg is also their big strength: yeah, sure you can start pumping up drones and units, but they all come from the same place, so most players will end in a situation where they need to choose either droning or making units, so the more drones you kill, the more drones the opponent must replace, and the more drones he or she does replace, the less units they are making.
Took me watching the first 50 minutes of watching the deleted video, before this one was finally uploaded. Good match thus far. Can't wait to see who wins the fifth game.
I haven't played starcraft competitively since high school. Thought I don;t have the skill anymore to play SC i enjoy watching these game casts. I think it would be cool to see some SC1 content here and there
Lowko, you almost certainly won't see this because the video is so old, but you got the phrase right. "Should not have let that happen" is the correct past tense. "Should not let that happen" would be future tense.
(Game 1) That is the ESSENCE of zerg, and it was a joy to watch. Expand and create more than your opponent. Cost efficiency should be an oxymoron to zerg. Create; swarm. The problem is keeping the game balanced, but what I just saw was a top level terran lose to an intelligent SWARM. P.S. Thank you for all the time and effort you put into these videos. Myself, and many others, greatly appreciate it.
This was super stressful: I kept waiting for Lowko to go back to the barely-started CC, and he's like, "let's see Cure's push into Serral's base," and I'm like, "no, Lowko...Lowko! LOWKO! The CC Lowko! I need to see if those Zerglings pacing just outside the base are going to pounce on it! Stop following the actual game Lowko, I NEED TO KNOW!" And then he goes back just as Cure started on the CC, and I started breathing again. Starcraft is a tough game!
I had a friend in college who could independently move each eye. However, he could only had vision through one eye while the other would basically be a lazy eye. He has Monocular vision. He'd mess with people by switching eyes frequently so you wouldn't know which one to focus on.
That first game felt like an almost deliberate "Lowko You suck" Encore in example form, what with all the talk in the original email about Zerg late game. "If you can't contain them, you just loose!" "So contain them."
57:30 So uh... fun fact. There is one dude. BoxBox. Sadly he's a League of Legends player (a pretty good one) and as far as I know, he's more of the giggles than serious gameplay
10:45 clear few creeps, 11:45 the creep completely gone on that part. Does the effect of creep last that long? 1min in sc2 is quite some game changer bonus.
The 3rd map was the most painful game for me to see as a terran. It started with juicy drone bbq, but ended with one-sided beating. My heart hurts :,^(
At 35:46 The English phrase is "in tatters" not "in shatters". Kinda like tattered clothing that means its in a poor state. A similar phrase to use shatter would be like "the 3rd base is shattered" or just "the 3rd base shatters". Thanks for casting in English though. I definitely couldn't understand your cast if it was in Dutch( a full cast in Dutch would be a fun video to watch one-off though)
It seems that the windows of opportunity are very limited to Terran against the Zerg. Cure seems to just a little bit not quite match with Serral, but even in the case of equal players, most of the time you will see Zerg in the proactive position, constantly restraining Terran while expanding at the same time. Terran army has difficulties with Banelings and Mutalisks. And, one wrong move could destroy the whole army while for the Zerg, they can re-max out in no time. Obviously, playing Terran means you take more risks than other factions.

I was wondering, what could lowko have done by turning it private? Did he murder someone live?
I thought it was because it wasn't lunch time yet
That 2-3 minute period between games 4 and 5, was awfully quiet.
Tbh, it was different than usual but still in a way more entertaining with the pauses between games lol
