Is this thioacetal reduction unique to Raney Nickel? Or can other catalysts like Urushibara Nickel work?

I would need to research this. Raney Ni contains Hydrogen from the reaction with the aluminum, but Urushibara Ni would not. If it does work, you would need to supply hydrogen to the reaction.
