Jughead was such a cool character when he became a serpent now they made him a drunk and a failed writer? They left him including his family (after his best friend and girlfriend betrayed him) didn’t bother to call him and he always waited for them to come back just for one time a year.

All of this was set up in the episode In Treatment. Everything Ms. Burble says to the core comes to fruition. She says to Jug "are you insecure about your ability as a writer? Are you getting distracted on purpose in order to not do the real work you should; write? Do you have a paranoia complex which causes you to blame others for your problems?"
That's exactly what he's done.

Betty did love Jug but her feeling for Archie since they were kids always still there, it’s complicated. And after the cheating I think deep inside, Betty feel that she is not deserved Jug. And don’t forget about the murderer Betty looking for, and her family ,she has serious problem with her right now more to start any relationship. So she choose to be FWB with Archie instead.

Guys the new episode made me so sad for some reason... Jughead being and acting like this makes me sad I feel like he is kind of depressed... Watching them not being teens anymore makes me so sad, like I miss how happy all of them used to be... Okay, Betty and Archie's shower scene was hot but I still felt like something wasn't right... I just can't be happy for Barchie when I know Jughead died inside when Betty told him about cheating on him.. And so did Veronica :(

Okay, maybe this scene is a tiny scene, but it seems clear that nothing is over between Betty and Jughead. We can just see how he looks at her when she says she's going to come back to Quantico. Inside him he's afraid of losing her again. Yes he still in love with her, we know it since the 4x04 (thanks to the t-shirt) On the other hand, Betty is in a more complicated situation. I have a theory but please dont attack me it's just my opinion : I think she's still in love with Jughead too but for now she wants to focus on Archie because it's more easier. (I already see the Barchies calling me "hater" haha) But here we go ! Betty knows how much she hurt Jughead and just wants to run away from this, because it made her feel bad, guilty and sad. Everything she doesn't want to feel more right now ! And when we knows what she's been through it's really understandable. Don't forget that Betty was sequestered by a serial killer during the time Jump. I think after this nightmare she locked herself in denial like when she talks with her therapist and says "everything is fine." While absolutely nothing is fine and we know it, she is traumatized and most of the time the people who suffer from post trauma symptoms reject everything and every person they feel too close to them and act sometimes differently without even realizing it. I'm not saying Betty's trauma have something about with her sudden obsession for Archie but I think there is a connection !
For me she's looking for fun, no fuss and I also think there's a lot of dark Betty in this story, in the sense of impulses, obsessions and sex and she knows she can have that with Archie. Jughead represents too much upheaval that she can't handle for now ! That's why I think she's so distant with him and almost indifferent. Afterwards of course I could be wrong and maybe Barchie is going to be the "big love" but I don't think so. I don't think anyone can understand Betty better than Jughead. He's the only one who has always known how to appease her dark side, the only one who was never afraid of it. So for me it's naturally the only one who will be able to get her out of this.
That's why for me Bughead is endgame no matter what.

A lot of comments are indicating that Betty never loved Jug like the way he loved her.am sorry but you are wrong. Jug was the one who used believe they should not and can not be together. It was Betty who kept the relationship. Yes, Archie was a big part of her life but when she fell for Jugy, she fell hard. Even after the kiss with Archie, she chose Jughead. It's been 7 years after the break up and she also deserves to be happy. We already saw two girls with Jug. Also am not sure from where the word cheat is coming. Betty and Jug are not together. Season 5 does not feel like riverdale if that makes sense, first bughead.
It makes no sense on why there would be 4 seasons of bughead and them being together and, bughead has been through SO MUCH TOGETHER, they’ve been detectives, gone to dances together, said there “I love you” , had there moments, so it’s really upsetting if they just end bughead after they have gone through so much. I hate that.
Second, I hate how they make Betty sound like such a mean person this season.
Third, I also have to hate how they made jughead this season. In the last 4 seasons he was a successful writer in blue and gold, he fought for things, he was king of the serpents, now they wrote him into a not so successful drunk writer.
So far in season 5 it feels like everything has gone to waste from the past.
All the realationship histories, character developments, just pretty much everything.
I want Jug and Betty to be together because I don’t think Betty and Archie fit together

Same story...Lucas was a writer and his first book was about Peyton and himself but they broke up before he published. He had writer’s block and it was only until he spoke and kissed Peyton that he was able to complete the book(at this time he was engaged to another girl) but on the wedding day, the girl saw the finished book, read it and realized the book was also about Peyton and that he still loved her...so she left him at the altar.
lili and cole has my respect for them to keep doing this for the show, bruh the comitment to still work in the show with your ex, it's just unbelievable.

I agree with this and don't at the same time. I ship bughead sooo much but betty is making me feel bad for jug and makes me feel like he should get payback. Then again jughead had like 3 girls that we know of just before he left for riverdale so who knows. Im gonna cry when jug i mea he already is in a rough spot i life so that ill be hard t watch but he should know.At least she didnt cheat on him this time at least they broke up.

I feel the same way finaly someone mentioned it! Jughead had hook ups too! its life ppl gotta move on i just think betty is heartbroken still and very very confused and i think archie takes avantage of that bc think abt it, When jug was "dead" he got with her. when her and jug broke up near Xmas he got with her, and now betty was lonely and sad so there archie was. The solution is clear....GET SOMEONE TO TELL ARCHIE BACK OFF HE IS RUINING RELATIONSHIPS,FRIENDSHIPS AND HE NEEDS TO SHUTUP!
There's nothing wrong with people hooking up, as you mentioned, Jug hooked up with other girls, but NEVER with a friend's ex, that's kinda wrong. Archie did hooked up with his best friend's ex.
I mean, i know it's a tv show, so it's not a big deal 😅, but in real life doing that is kinda wrong.
