Saint-Saëns is an underrated composer. A lot of his contemporaries are much more well known, but I don't think I've heard anything from him that I didn't like.
Thank you for a fair and entertaining review, especially because I know this genre isn't your bread and butter. This is one of my favorite concertos because of how simple yet evocative the melody is, and the harmonies are beautiful as well. In this case, i just wanted to share it with you. The high score was appreciated but not expected. I wish i could share more of this type of music with people... it really does have its place in the reportoire. Maybe someday I'll be able to play it. Also, thanks for dressing up. I was very amused.
