I always wondered how much fuel line with the filter in the tank, you answered it perfectly, at the far end of the tank, stand that filter UP! Thank you very much
I had a model older than this one that I love. My sister has difficulty with tools that are too heavy and she actually loved mine and found it easy to use ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx_rBCFuDW1zD6blTGhLkvAkxU657uR_lG . This is a newer model but was even lighter which she really appreciates. She enjoys it and I no longer have to go to her house to trim as she can handle it fine. Haven't used it enough to comment on the battery life but lithium batteries last longer than the old style. Being cordless makes it easy to trim the far edges of the property. The entire yard can be trimmed with one charged battery.
Brilliant thanks, I have a 12 year old McCulloch trimmer and the fuel line broke and was wondering how I would thread it through those tight holes. Never even crossed my mind to cut it at an angle.
great tip on cutting the diagonal, they can be a pain. i just fixed one for my old neighbor for free because of his medical condition. this is the secind time i have used this trick to get them fired off after sitting for a period of time. remove spark plug and squirt a drop of oil in the cylinder. pull cord several times and reinstall plug. compression is higher and starts right up ,works great
Very good tip Roger! Yes, oil will increase your compression temporarily and it's also a great way of diagnosing worn rings and the degree of wear. If you only increase a little compression (say 10-15psi) then ring gap isn't too bad, but more than that and you should be replacing the jug and piston assembly. Now days, you can do this for around $25 on most 2 cycle weed eaters. Takes longer to remove the plastics than the actual replacement lol. Cheers my Friend! Zip~
This just came in late last week. I really think Ryobi and the others that don't include an air filter really SHOULD include it. It doesn't take long to clog up the internal strainer. Hopefully this will help you out on the next one though Sir Doogals! Zip~
Hey Zippo I use a pair of 90 degree needle nose pliers best 15 bux I ever spent 5 years ago when I opened my shop back up. I also have quick access to my diet drinks in the SILVER cans ~!~! Yes it does say Light on the can LOL ~!~!
I too use 45 and 90 degree pliers as well as the clamps I showed in the video. If there's a problem, there's a tool and a "Light" Coke for the job! Cheers Mate!! Zip~
I couldn't sit through 6 0r 7 at one time. I'm too fidgety lol, but it is nice to have a spot to chilax and have everything within arms reach. I did have to stand to reach the mini fridge for another coke though lol. Cheers Joe!! Zip~
Thanks so much Zip, U explained the process very well, I found others but now iv'e got the best. In my opinion. OK now I replaced the parts on my SS30 whacker but still have a problem, I did notice the new bulb keeps some fuel, bout 1/4 of fuel & its hard to start. Should I buy A new carb, maybe? Thanks for sharing mostly for those of us whose bulbs are not well seated. 😀
I did! I was attempting to replace a neighbor's carb. The main fuel hose and that other primer hose had deteriorated and broken off in the tank. I had no idea which port the main/fuel filter hose was to connect to on the carb. This video was very helpful in solving that. Runs like a new one.
Thats exactly how I do it and a little lube spray. I also have a habit of blowing through the hose to make sure its not restricted , I had one in the past that was restricted .
hello i saw another video and the actual fuel fliter was snugged up against the hole which is why the little gromet is tapered. does that make sense or just a different tank maybe?
I replaced my fuel line and it started by not well. bought carb and accessories for $15 on amazon. I had to replace the fuel filter and carburetor. Also inserted a gasket, which was never in place between carb and body. Runs better now except at full throttle. I think I need to use high octane fuel in the thing according to the internet.
Wasn't too bad! There ARE weed eaters out there that are a pain even using the tricks. That's when I feed a single core wire through the hole and use it as a guide to get the line started from inside the tank. That video is coming soon! Cheers my Friend! Zip~
My toro weedeater I changed carb out and worked fine for about 20 minutes then had soo much trouble starting and keep it running . Could ba bad gas or what ? Spark plug I dropped and may have damaged the gap .
tank does not pressure carb sucks fuel from tank primer bulb primes carb so you dont have to pull start rope a 100 times to get fuel in carb at first start up it will run with no gas cap so no pressure in tank
I hope this gets your weed eater back up and running Leigh! If you have another problem, let me know and I'll post a video to try and help you along. Cheers!! Zip~
Mexican Know how... Pass First a guide line... Make a hole AT the end of your line pass It true.. Tide It and Just pull the guide line... Wen the end passes out of the gas tank... Grabe It Whit a pointed pliers and Finish take It out.
fuel lines are the Weakest link in these trimmers after few year s lines go brittle break or Carbs plug up and after few more years parts DisContinued !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yep!! Most times, they're not worth the effort to repair them other than replacing the fuel lines. Give me a good old weed whip over these new built to fail POS trimmers. Cheers Joni! Zip~
I watched about 10 of these and this was the most in depth and well explained. Shows every step of the way. Saving this video for future use. Thanks!
Glad you found it helpful Scuba! (I just had the urge to call you Scuba Steve lol) Zip~
@@ZippoVarga Everyone does! :)
Great video. I was having massive problems here and your instructions were perfect!
Great to hear!
Excellent video! This addressed several questions I had. So that's what that little spring is for. No mention of it in replacement package.
Hope it helped Paul! Zip~

Excellent tip on cutting the tubing at a diagonal so you begin feeding the tubing just enough to grab it with the pliers. Thanks for posting!!
THANK YOU SIR !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also liked cutting the line like that. that's my job for tomorrow. Thanks Zip.
Makes for easy installation, that's for sure. Cheers! Zip~
Why does my fuel tank have two holes in it?
I needed to see this many years ago! That Weed Eater is long gone. I could have gotten a few more years out of it.
This just came in late last week. I really think Ryobi and the others that don't include an air filter really SHOULD include it. It doesn't take long to clog up the internal strainer. Hopefully this will help you out on the next one though Sir Doogals! Zip~
Thanks. Great how to video. I pulled my trimmer out to use it this spring and the lines are leaking gas.
Glad it helped
Nice video and great demonstration on how- to -video really informative thanks

thank you . the next time i have to replace a line im going to do this .
Most welcome Stephen! I know many people have to fight replacing the lines and it was high time I got to this video. Cheers!! Zip~
The best so far..i will try this weekend
I wanted to ask if you would mind sharing the brand of the cutter you are using in this video, Much Appreciated
Sure thing ejdav, It's a Craftsman Handi-Cut. An invaluable all around great cutting tool. Cheers! Zip~
Thanks for the video will be doing mine very soon

If you can get ahold of straight gas that might help at full throttle. Ethanol is bad for small engines.
You need to adjust your carb if it is adjustable
Good video! But I believe the return line is a slightly larger diameter line?
I never knew nice good stuff brother
Good job and thank you
Thanks and welcome! Zip~
Thank you very helpful appreciate
Good job.
Thanks Danny! Zip~
Quick fix! Thanks, Zip!!

Happy to help!
Great job putting fuel lines in
very nice job.
One screw in tank, easy to take off and install lines and reinstall fuel tank, plug in lines and you are finished.
great video
Thanks!! Zip~
Thanks
No problem
Saya dari indonesia sangat suka sama vidio ini sangat membantu
English?
Does the machine use mixed ingredients or not?
How thick is the fuel line?
Also, to address the constant sniffing, you may want to try some nasal corticosteroids and antihistamine tablets.
Thanks Mike...I know it's annoying for my viewers. Zip~
Or cut back on the coke.
Had the same problem with same wacker.
Pretty common issue with most weed eaters sold without the air filter. Cheers Buzz my Friend! Zip~
I though you had to use two different sized hoses ?
Easy peezy! :) Cheers!
What size fuel line did u use? I have a Ryobi S430
tank does not pressure carb sucks fuel from tank primer bulb primes carb so you dont have to pull start rope a 100 times to get fuel in carb at first start up it will run with no gas cap so no pressure in tank
Great info Zip! 😐
