Such a great time. Camping at the Spectrum for three days. I miss these days. Love this show. Thanks. The energy of the Spectrum could never be topped. Always a fun crowd.
Incredible!! What a show to have video and crazy good crisp clean audio. You can hear every individual instrumental note. Crowd was feeding the bands energy. So good to see and hear. Thank you to anybody who had anything to do with capturing this timepiece. Other comment mentioned lightning in a bottle and it sure f n is...LIGHTNING IN A BOTTLE!!! Enjoy the ride kids..
Thanks 🎉❤ I was there. Great 3 nights. I don't remember anything 😅 must've been the roses 🌹
Thanks for his upload!@!!! This is my desert island show!! I was there, they end the first set with Music Never Stopped and then the 2nd set is just relentless, no breaks.... this is a very mature, disciplined Grateful Dead!! The Bertha immediately followed with Cumberland just explodes and, then, I don't care how many versions there are, the Playing segway into Uncle Johns still gives me chills..... like a sun coming out on a cloudy day and a flower just blooming out of nowhere..... This show was also broadcast live on either WMMR or WYSP so the boys knew they had to be on their game, and they were!!!! This show is one of those needle in a haystack shows...... THANKS AGAIN FOR THIS GEM!!!!
I love all of this that u give us Deadheads because most of us couldn’t make all of those shows so thank u very much with great love ! ❤️🐰🐇👽🪐🛸🚀💜💀☠️🩵🧚♀️🧚🏿♂️🧚🏼💖💕😍🥰😘👻😰Jerry is a ghost now , he chose to b earth bound !
💕💕💕 it! I was at all of this run! High times indeed! ❄️🌍❄️🥀✌️👌🔥
I remember the concert started late because of a wrestling event there in the afternoon, so the whole vibe was special from get go. That and the NFL strike was across the street and Eagles players were picketing. I guess that's why they played Cumberland Blues, "make good money $5 a day". This was my favorite live show I went too. Great set list!
Yeah that's right..forgot about that! I was too busy watching the stage go up for the U2 concert at JFK that was on the day after that run.
My birthday show!
One of the best shows of the year. Garcia is shredding, particularly in the first set.
Cool. Check out 5-2-87 2nd set if you haven't already.
The second set sounds pretty shredded as well. Big Bad Billy was on fire this tour.
Music Never Stopped 🎉❤
@@danielosullivan3110 That's right....all-timer!
This sounds just exactly perfect. Thanks Kevin. Lightning in a bottle.
I always said Philly was the THE place for a show. Everyone has their own idea of what constitutes a great show. Well, for me, this one has it all. What a setlist. I remember someone sitting by me saying "what is this:"roll away the dew". Well, this was the tour that alot of people jumped on with the "Touch of Grey". That's fine. But learn your history and appreciate what was going on with this show. It's hard to tell on this video but during Bertha when Jerry sang "throw me in a jailhouse" it was just just deafening. Read up if you don't know why this was so timely. this was one of my top 10 shows.
Indeed this is an excellent show.I feel that the Dead always played best in the Northeast.Whenever they played Boston,Hartford,New Haven,Springfield,NY or Philly they always blew the doors off the place.

We can't forget Maine!
Richard M True. They always were good at Lewiston and Cumberland County.

Let It Grow is spectacular!
Philly ❤
thank again Kevin for the spectrum philladelphia shows good uncle John's band kev
Another killer Philly show! Glad I was there! It was weird in the lot because they were setting up JFK Stadium for the U2 show that was there the next day. and it was double weird because the night before this run Madonna had a concert at the Spectrum.
My first show! 👍😎what a night!!!
Thank you!
I never can get enough of the Gratefuldead all in itself like nobody else can do ever ! 🌹🐇🐰🥀🐇🐰😍🥰😘😏💀☠️🫥👽🪐🧜🧜♂️🧜♀️😇so full of love for these guys who r very close to that heavens door but not Jerry he became earthbound as a ghost ! That’s y he had his ashes spread in Sanfrancisco India so he would make sure he old travel wherever he wanted to go ! He does funny things to me like dropping foolish things like silverware , napkins , stuff that wouldn’t break but he hurt me sometimes because he is so powerful ! I have to tell him to get the fuck out for awhile because I couldn’t stand hurting my bruises on top of eachother !
Saw quite a few Garcia Band shows that smoked at the ole Sprctrum as well
thx ! keep 'em coming...much peace
Best Desolation Row ever....EVER
Still one of my all time favorite shows...thank you for posting! Peace.
He pulled me half way out of my bed then came back to put his thumbs on my eyes but he was so strong I had to tell him to b easy on me that I was still alive but wish I wasn’t because I could b with him but later gator ! 🐊🌹🥀it must of been the roses !
I caught the first two nights but was shut out on night 3. too bad the desolation is incomplete. its one of the best I've heard.
