Nice vid! I like how flash has a built-in prep time called super speed thinking. I agree with your point and I think it all comes down to writing. It’s who they write and how compelling it is. A story of green lantern walking through a mall could be super boring on paper but it could be the most well written comic ever.
As a Batman fan, it does annoy me that most of the fandom's argument for Batman to be unbeatable is that old, tired meme that I'm fairly certain derived originally from Chuck Norris memes and that was "Because he's Batman" smh. No matter how much I love Batman, he can be beaten. He's admitted that if Superman got serious, he'd be put 6 ft. under ten times over. He's human, and just like any human, he has limitations.
@@chrisbryan7611Yeah the lack of limitations and the inability for people to have discussions, instead of shouting matches, has pushed a lot more potential fans away from this character. It's doing the opposite of what people engaging in the behavior think it is.
Even as a Batman fan, I can't stand most of the fandom, I hate how they think Batman can beat every character, it's ridiculous and they'll give you shit if you like a version of Batman they don't like, I honestly don't blame people that hate Batman fans.
Me too I'm the biggest Batman fan I love him but I know that Superman would beat the crap out of him if he actually wanted to. And I love so many characters besides Batman
My main issue is how they treat batman. They treat him like the second coming of christ who's just smarter and strknger than anyone in fiction. What's more annoying is this prep time shit too which is just plot armor. It's do bad that it bleeds into batman media sometimes. I think ppl forget that one of the best things about batman is his humanity and the things he goes through mentally abd physically. Treating him like an unstoppable god is a disservice to that imo
I swear people hate Batman and his fans for no reason I mean the same toxicity and more is present in other characters, Spiderman, Ironman, Thor, Kratos, Darth Varder.... and more but people like to point fingers at Batman and his fans for no reason, and I am 100% sure that if Batman was a Marvel character, people would not have hated him and would not have said bad things like that. When Iron Man uses his thick plot armor, which is stronger than Jesus, and makes suits and fights gods with it fans: This is badass, what a great prep time and you say this is my Ironman. Batman makes the strongest suits in the universe and defeats an enemy. Fans: This is forbidden and does not make sense, this is plot armor.
Prep time bullshit and dc writers litterally kissing the character's ass while underlining the others to make him look good is when I truly started to dislike the character
When Iron Man uses his thick plot armor, which is stronger than Jesus, and makes suits and fights gods with it. fans: This is badass, what a great prep time and you say this is my Ironman Batman makes the strongest suits in the universe and defeats an enemy. But thr writers need to contently glaze batman in situation to undermine other characters
i use to be a spiderman hater. i was so jealous of him till i saw the movie NWH and it made me open my eyes. ironman used to be #1 of my favorite marvel character now spiderman takes that #1 spot for me now. so batman #1 and spiderman#2 for me.
Batman and Spider-Man are easily my favorite superheroes. They’re the most human to me in that they use their pain and trauma for good in spite of all of their pain. Batman uses his mask to inflict fear upon his enemies, whereas Spider-Man uses his to hide his fear from his enemies
I just don't like the fans of batman who ignore his flaws and act like everything he does is justified. I recently saw that even in universe they'll justify his crap by saying " because he's batman " those 3 words have ruined his character for me
"It's Batman" It's not Batman fans who say it you idiots, it's haters who learned it and started spreading it so you can come and believe they're Batman fans

_"People only want Batman."_ It's not true. You know iit's not true, I know it's not true. ANY of the Justice League could've had their own games, and people would've flocked to it if it's well made and treated the characters with respect. But here's the thing: even if it were true, there's nothing wrong with it. And it's the job of a comics company, or a video game company, or a film team, to MAKE people care about them. Before the Arkham series, people loved Batman, but I remember all of us being like, 'Why is the first NES game the only passable Batman game we've ever gotten?" Rocksteady changed that.
It's honestly unfortunate that instead of building these characters up when they have chances to, the leads at the top always play it safe and jump out of the way of any risk. It's why a lot of characters don't get the building blocks they need to succeed on a bigger level. I'm hoping that is going to change in the future, but who knows. It's just sad. I can see the frustration of feeling like other stuff isn't selling as well, but it needs marketing and more time to do so imo. They don't want to give it those things.
@@DegenerateJay That seems like 2024 America in a nutshell: want all the money and the characters to be making money, but no one wants to put in the work to make them loved, loveable. HOW did we get to a point where SUPERMAN is considered a risk but the Suicide Squad isn't?! Green Arrow on Smallville and then his own series for most of the '10s, and NOTHING game-wise except for fighting games. I can't imagine that it would be too hard to make a game for him, and could probably play just like a Batman game. Green Lantern had the movie tie-in, and I'll be honest: while I haven't gone back to play it since I beat it on its release, I didn't hate that game. It wasn't a terrible little God of War-clone that did about as well as anyone could expect with a power set like that. (Though...imagine a GL game where you get to design your own imaginative attacks and shields, like WWE Create-a-Wrestler style. Need a missle-like attack? Draw your missle-like object in this box...Need a shield bubble? Sphere? Cube? Pyramid? Create your own design! Especially if it released for a system with stylus options, or Skyward Sword-like conrols.) Never been a Flash game (lolz...you know what I mean). Not one. Put him with Hawkman and/or Martian Manhunter for a game. Or the Question. Or Constantine. The greater the risk, the greater the reward, publishers. Can you imagine what's going to happen if the Wonder Woman game sucks, though?
Im no game writer or designer but I can understand why it would be hard to make a flash or Superman game. Unless they butcher these characters powers with tropes like the suicide squad, fans will complain if they feel the character is weaker than what they are. Superman is practically invincible to everything except kryptonite or any character that scales to him physically while flash is faster than fast & making him remotely slow to fit the games design while make fans cry and complain. Now how we haven’t had a green arrow game especially during the CW tv show is beyond me as & a green lantern game definitely seems possible if everything is taken place in space. There is a supposed Wonder Woman game that’ll come out so hopefully if that does good enough it gives us hope on the other JL members
@@Tobiasagain If Bruce Timm can take some liberties limiting Superman's strength and things like his ability to breathe in space, I think people would be accepting of some limitations. But I mean, if you really wanted to go back to the Arkham Asylum style of gameplay, that whole Metroidvania-in-3D approach, you could literally do the Metroid thing and have Superman weakened at the start of the story and get his powers back one by one over the course of the story, too. Like, Smallville The Game, but at the end you have your whole suite of powers. Or you could just do something like the LEGO games did, which is just contextualize everything. Just get his flying mechanics right (which is where Superman Returns' game really screwed the pooch, imo) and fight a reasonable main villain ploy, and the rest would sort of fall into place, I think. And mind you, I really think Superman Returns got SO close to it. Just don't have me flying haphazardly from one point of Metropolis to another while a clock counts down while we have to put out X-number fires or save X-number of people from falling to their deaths, and it's already a better time. AND NO RINGS. 😂 Flash...I'd think Flash IS harder, I won't lie. It's not so much that running fast is his only power, but games have long struggled with how to give the player a sense of speed without forcing them to be completely out of control. ALTHOUGH, I can see a player basically having to shift gears, sometimes you need to run fast but not TOO fast, and other times, you REALLY need to be on the edge of out of control? His ability to phase through objects is cool, but finding a way to incoprorate that in a game could be troublesome. But it's 2024...surely SOMEONE has a take on him that could work. He's got one of the best Rogues Galleries in comics! God, I hope the Wonder Woman game is good. I mean, I hope it's phenomenal. But I'd even settle for passively enjoyable at this point. Don't get me wrong, I could be perfectly happy with nothing but Arkham Origins sequels until the end of time, but i REALLY do want great games of my favorite heroes, and maybe even some that make me love characters the way Young Justice made me love characters I never expected to even like. Those old movie tie-in games so often got it wrong, I really don't blame publishers for being hesitant. It's 2024, and I'm STILL miffed about the Iron Man games and the awful Thor game. 😂 But then, I also really enjoyed games that other people blast, like that Incredible Hulk game and the Capitain America: Super Soldier game.
For me its just the repetitive stance in person of the most common trope meeting people who say "I like DC but only Batman". Thankfully not very apparent in online spaces but man does it make me not even want to talk comics in person with people who's perspective 90% of the time is other heroes are boring and only Batman. Then as you said extending to comics of other character runs getting canned (Hawkman, Mary Marvel, Aquaman during his 80th anniversary etc.) to games too where I put more blame on DC pushing Batman for so long that at this point they cant stop since they'll lose money and instead have to shoehorn Batman and hos cast in other superhero comics to tey and sell it.
@@assassin8636 Since you clearly didn't understand what I said I'll try to simplify it: • Yes obviously Batman is popular but DC pushed him too hard compared to other characters, just look up the optics of hie many Batman and Superman comic appearances there are compared to other DC characters and compare that to the balance of Marvel characters. • DC should've spent more time using Batman to bolster other characters like Marvel does with say Wolverine or Spider-man. • Instead because of the Batfamily push its rarer from my experience to converse with DC fans who don't see everyone outside of Batman as boring & discontinued ooks from them.
Something I hate about the fandom is that they want to gatekeep him, yet they mistinterpret his stories 24/7. Like how are you going to gatekeep and then not know what the fuck you’re gatekeeping?
He just looked like a believable Batman, not a guy in a bat-suit. He was angry and vengeful, you could see it in his eyes. When Keaton Batman hit his enemies, he did it with a certain anger. Just as a dude who saw his parents murdered by criminals would.
Yeah. With prep a guy with no superpowers is beating every single hero and villain is fucking absurd. Can't stand it. A large percentage of superheros would completely destroy batman even if he had prep.
@@bigdoinks2006Why are you so against it? Batman has the money, the equipment and the time to learn about people like superman. It isn't that absurd, that batman, someone who is intimately familiar with other heroes, would have Plans to stop them.
@djb9267 people use this argument for villains and heros batman has never faced. How is he going to have prep time against a hero like wolverine who doesn't exist in his universe? This prep time argument is just ridiculous. It makes every single other hero or villain in these universes seem like 5 year Olds. Why do none of them have counters to batmans prep time? If we are giving batman prep time why doesn't flash get prep time? You'd figure he already knows his weaknesses and he's often stated that multiple times in comics. He isn't 1000 steps ahead of everyone in the universe. He can't even stop his own villains and most of them have no powers and he's given unlimited prep time for them.
I think the main reason on why so many people despise Spider-Man & Batman Fanboys is that both have something disgusting in common, & is their obsession to constantly attack, insult & dismiss other characters in order to Highlight those 2
I think it's also the idea that because batman has many dark and adult graphic novels a lot of batman fans think they're intellectual and that batman is a superhero for adults and that other heroes are silly or less intellectual. In other words a lot of bat fans are pretentious as fuck
Batman doesn't defeat everything and anything, that's a lie from you, and other than that you have to see Iron Man and Cap defeat Thor, Hulk, Thanos and the strongest creatures in the comics
I'm saying and speaking this as a Batman fan, and I have to say that I mainly dislike the fan base or Batman fans in general, I've been in many arguments with his fans over anr over again trying to explain that he does not stand a change against the Justice League, he's just a human being and this prep time thingy is absolutely bullshit. Batman isn't a God, and nor is he about to harm his friends, I've seen everywhere that Batman fans keep on saying that the contingency plans Batmans held against his friends is considered "Well, Batgoat always prepared." Well, no? I just don't see Batmans having the most foul plans to defeat his team, when he views them as family, especially his friend, his brother Superman. They also have the delusional that Batman is this edgy dark vengeance guy who's always about the darkness when he is not, Batmans character is about getting up and never giving up, I can't help you blame that they are the reason Batman doesn't get character development. Mordon Batman is so unlikable, and his fans are also unlikeble.
@@unusualsuspect980 I don't believe I'm apart of the problem, it's not everyday, but these annoying fans won't stop replying to me explaining that "Batgoat" would definitely have kryptonite to harm Superman, or when "Batgoat" has these contingency plans to take down the Justice League, Batman does not have the heart to harm his team especially Superman. At the end of the day, I just block these annoying fans anyways. Or maybe I am apart of the problem, however I try not too, and I've been ignoring these fans and getting in less arguments lately.
I used to like Batman, but then his obsessive fanboys ruined him. Now Batman fanservice moments are one of the reasons I don't watch DC animation anymore. If I ever do check out a new movie, I ask myself "Which hero is now going to be a complete idiot just so Batman can correct them?"
Honestly, I like stories where Batman is outwitted, and has to think on his feet to even barely make it out of the situation alive, I like it when instead of just beating people up, he actually shows compassion, when he’s stumped investigating a crime, when that one thing happens that shakes him to his core, because it shows his humanity, the one thing that makes Batman relatable. I hate stories that give him this almost “invincible and omnipotent ” status, stories where he has a contingency for every possible plan the villain could think of, or show him pulling off impossible feats of strength for a normal human being.
Atleast Spiderman fans are aware of the characters weaknesses and don't treat him like some God-Like being saying he can go against somebody like Goku.
@@jagartharn6361 Well, they have an unhealthy amount of people who thinks spidey can beat hulk if he stops holding back. But that still pales compared to batman fans
@@coldwater9540at least i can see where they are coming from. Hulk isn't always portrayed as a planet smasher immortal whose healing factor is comparable to Wolverine. And Spider-man is pretty strong himself, with his spidey sense and agility he could dodge close combat attack easily and he has a nice track record of being the underdog but still winning against much stronger guys with his battle iq. But Batman, a powerless, 20-40 years old guy, with non alien technology being this Doctor Who like figure who can sabotage Alien invasions and build gadgets that can take out planet destroyer creatures, like elfking how? Is he having superhuman or alien brain? No Is he having almost 1000 years of experience fighting aliens? No Was he kidnapped by advanced aliens as a child who tought him how aliens and their tech work. No... Then how the elfing hell could he make a plan that defeats guys like Darkside?
No fanbase has ruined a character more for me than Batman fans. And it brings me no pleasure saying that. I grew up on the animated series and the Keaton films. And later on enjoyed the Arkham games.
So a fanbase ruined a character for you I’m sorry but that is so dumb. I still love batman and Spider-Man despite some of the fans . Fans shouldn’t be a reason you dislike a character
@ unfortunately it often comes hand in hand. Hence why I never liked certain bands, films etc. some fanbases do their damndest to turn you away it seens.
Absolutely wonderful video. I’m down for pretty much anything MARVEL and DC have to offer given that it’s a quality product. But we as fans can’t just dunk on someone because they only like one character. It’s wrong and if our goal is to show them what else DC and MARVEL have to offer, we need to act in a way that is congruent with that goal. If we want some of our other favorite characters to get the same treatment as Batman, we as fans and a community need to operate in a manner that is going to get people to WANT to invest in other characters. Great video.
Pattinson is my favourite batman cos the Batman focuses on his worlds greatest detective side which some fans often forget cos they are used to seeing Batman kick the shit out of people
Jay you've hit the nail on the head with this one 👍🏿 It's usually always 3 things. 1) The oversaturation of him & his characters 2) The "Prep Time" argument 3) The "Because he's Batman" syndrome. And of course Kevin Conroy is *THE* definitive Batman 🦇
As a spiderman fan I sometimes like to engage in a toxic debate with other fans who are just as big of a spidey dork as I am but it has been more chill online since Nwh
Because their annoying. I'm the single biggest Batman stan and truly believe he can beat Lucifer, but even I can see how unlikeable I am. We don't care. Batman gave us so much. Least we can be is loyal. We should probably stop being so obsessive, tho...

There are Batman fans, who are cool. They know a lot, thet get the ideas and themes inherent to the character, they are willing to learn and discuss. And then there are Bat fanboys who show up at Batman threads and immediately start arguing that Batman beats almost everything. Even though said fanboys almost always have poor knowledge of the character, poor knowledge of comics and no rhetoric skills. Instead of a nice discussion it turns into low IQ mental gymnastic fest where fanboys take panels out of context and ignore basic logic. It is frustrating.
My favorite Batman is Christian Bale. The movies did such a good job showing what a realistic Batman would be like. The Dark Knight also gave us a the best Joker I could ever ask for.
Here's the thing. I love Batman dearly, yes. There's no denying it. But I love Super Heroes in general. I know some comics fans have to "pick" which side they like best, DC comics or Marvel, but I'm the kind of fan that likes bits and pieces of both. Thanks to the Marvel movies and things like Xmen cartoons from the 90's, I have my favorite Marvel characters. Same goes for DC comics. I love bits and pieces from DC Comics. Not all, but some. Batman happens to be my favorite "major" character of the franchise. I grew up with Batman. He's the hero I loved since I was conscious enough to choose if I like stuff I watch on TV or not. It's just that I'm faaaar from a "1-trick pony" when it comes to Super Heroes. My favorite version of Batman is from Batman: Forever. I'll say that shamelessly until the end of time. The internet will not prevent me from enjoying this film. I love that they focused a little more on his detective side of the character in this movie and even toyed with the idea, if very briefly, of a version of Bruce who could retire the cape and be with the chick of the movie who he fell for.
Robert Pattinson is easily my favorite live action Batman, he embodies the detective and dark depressing vibes so perfectly, I love seeing a younger more angrier Batman that was inexperienced and was still trying to figure out who he was as a person and I can't wait to see him develop as a character and hopefully grow out his Bruce Wayne persona Ps, spiderman and Batman are both peak 🔥
For me, Michael Keaten IS Batman in terms of live action. He's the first version of Batman that I grew up with as a kid and pretty much shaped my love for superheroes as a whole. Also an interesting fact is that it was Keaten that first suggested that he would use a different voice for Batman so that no one would catch on to Batman's identity as Bruce Wayne. So, in a way, Kevin Conroy's legendary performance may not have happened if Keaten hadn't come up with the idea, which I think is kinda cool.
The thing I just dislike is taking a fictional 1v1 and saying Batman would beat characters who are just (way) stronger than him because of the bottomless well that is prep time.
Keaton. He's just really cool he has an air of confidence while being actually brooding. And Batfleck was my least favorite because he wasn't bats, not just for the killing he just fundamentally isn't batman. He also should have been Tomas Wayne, not bruce.
Fun enough the other live action batmen killed and never batted an eye while bvs used it to tell a story that people apparently can't comprehend I guess
@bossmine3997 No, I comprehend. It was just poorly executed, and he isn't batman because he just doesn't do detective things. Not to mention the fact he's 2 very different batmen slamed into 1 singular being by a guy who strait up said batman could get raped in a prison in his movie. Look it up.
The thing fans don’t understand about The Dark Knight Returns is that Superman allowed Batman the prep time and even knew he was giving it to him when he lasered “where” right next to him and could have easily took him out at almost anytime before the battle.
The whole dark knight returns was just a big fuck you to Superman, I’m pretty sure the author didn’t like Superman so he made Batman fight him, also Superman would never become part of the government, the whole point of Superman is that he for the people and him working with the government is so out of character.
I’m a Batman fan and I like a bunch of hero’s he is a short list but it is much longer: Sonic Crash bandicoot Mario (kind of) Doom guy Master chief Black adam Superman And many more
So far, my favorite live action Batman has been Pattinson, and it's not just recency bias. It feels the most true to the character. The unhealthy obsession, being a detective, making criminals terrified of the thought of him, his relationship with Gordon feels perfect, he's not a murderer. Imo, Every other live action Batman fails at least one of those, but Battinson succeeded all of them
Literally this! That’s also why he’s my favorite version of Batman. I also like seeing him make some mistakes seeing that he’s still learning early in his career like when he kinda failed his gliding when he was being chased by the cops.
That movie has been blasted a lot lately, and I do get it, but man, it gave me almost everything I've been asking for since the Nolan films were still in theaters. A Batman who is primarily a detective, and a Riddler who COULD legitimately be smarter than Bruce (I even used to suggest he should be able to figure out who Batman is, and I swear, the film seems like it was checking off all my boxes at some points). It had a great Batmobile, too.
@@unusualsuspect980 The film is basically a noir detective film, and it's paced exactly like you'd expect one to be. Loving or hating it is obviously a subjective thing, but it's close to what I wanted out of it. Could've been a LITTLE more cinematic, I think, but I have no real complaints about the pacing. Bale... look, I love Nolan's films, but I'm not sure Bale's Batman, or especially his Bruce Wayne, would make the top of ANY lists I'd put together. He's smart-attainably smart, even, which I'm not sure is a great choice for Batman-but he's no detective. He reassembles a bullet in TDK, and the computer does ALL the work for him. It was cool, but not really the ideal situation for The World's Greatest Detective, imo. And the damn voice takes me out of it every time. (I've also never liked the TDK or TDKR suits. The helmeted cowl looks so goofy to me, but again...entirely subjective.)
@@Goldnfoxx Agreed. I also wanted Pattinson’s Batman to be more detective oriented since Batman is called “the world’s greatest detective” and we don’t really see much of that in the earlier movies. I also think his voice is perfect and intimidating enough for a year two Batman. I really like the Nolan movies, but I just couldn’t take Bale’s voice seriously at times. Idk why The Batman is getting cooked by people nowadays. It’s like people are turning on it like some fans did to Spider-Man NWH.
@@GoldnfoxxI really liked it too. Pattinson was the best Batman, it was good having Riddler and Penguin instead of Joker again. Farrel was brilliant as Penguin and I couldn't even tell it was him. I even liked Paul Turturro as Maroni. It also felt similar to "Dark Knight" and seemed very Nolanesque, despite Reeves doing it. I was also glad it wasn't tied to the DCEU and remained its own thing. One thing I would have liked of it was linked to the "Joker" movie and when Batman finally confronts him, it is the Joaquin Phoenix Arthur Fleck version.
As a long time Batman fan and despite that he’s one of my favorite fictional characters ever, I’m really annoyed when people say he beats any character with prep time or when he’s propped up as the most important person in the universe or whatever. This was evident when people bashed the opening scene of Gotham Knights with Ra’s Al Ghul ambushing Batman in his own game. They claimed that scene made him a joke without even considering how characters are actually made into jokes, if that makes sense. People tend to forget that despite how smart and skilled Batman is, he’s still just a man who isn’t immune to losing and that’s part of what makes his character amazing. P.S: In case anyone asks, no I’m not saying this to defend Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. That game DID turn Batman into a joke and Harley’s lecture is proof whoever wrote the game hates Batman.
Robert Pattinson is my favorite live action Batman. To me, his version is the most comic accurate especially when it comes to him just starting out as the caped crusader
I am a Batman fan, but having read comics for decades, supported the genre through all mediums, I am NOT one dimensional and appreciate a myriad of other heroes from other sources and writers. Why be limited? I love Breyer's Vanilla Ice Cream, but also enjoy tons of other flavors. Gtrat vodeo, and some of the points made apply to fans that are myopic over anyone of a number of heroes. It helps to appreciate any one character when you can appreciate a backdrop of them all. It allows you to place that character into a larger perspective and greater understanding and appreciation in my book. Thanks for a great piece.
I have to agree with the prep time thing because you can take down the Justice League because he actually has plans but like other characters like Spider-Man or Godzilla they're just ridiculous
But thing is, these other heroes also likely have prep time. The flash is a genius and probably one of the strongest heroes. It's hard to believe just a human would beat not only the flash, but fucking superman. I feel like too many storylines look to strictly make batman OP, while nerfing any other hero he's in the story with.
@KNIGHTWING8307 yes but it makes it seem as if everyone in the justice league is just brain dead. You really think the flash and superman who are both geniuses (more so flash) won't have counter plans to batman plans? This "I know everyone's weakness" argument that batman fans have is wild. Likely the whole league knows his weaknesses as well. So if we're giving batman prep time, the people who he's also fighting should he allowed prep time.
@KNIGHTWING8307 yes they wanted him to. But just as he knows all their weaknesses, they know his. That's my issue. Half of the stories are just batman exploiting everyone as if he has no weaknesses when in reality he has the biggest weakness of them all. I get its comics, its all fake. But the notion that batman would destroy every hero is silly. The same batman who was beaten by bane, catwoman, joker, hush etc. Batman is one of my favorites. But the notion that he can beat anyone with prep is just so dumb to me.
I hate the fans whenever I say something about Batman that is pretty much common sense for anyone if they payed attention and Batman fans will instantly say "you didn't read the comics/you didn't understand his character". No, I understand his character fully well and I still say he has lots of problems and flaws that should be dealt with and talked about, yet the "fans" will try to find any reason to justify his actions and make it seem like he is always the good guy in every scenario. A character won't always be right, they can be wrong and I like that about some characters. If a character is wrong about something, it would give them the chance to deal with it and become better from it. Also, I'm pretty certain most Batman "fans" only like him for the fact he can essentially beat anyone if the writers allow it. And I hate all of it.
Bro what? Bruh who said that batman always right? Oh you just made this excuse out there's no creature could never be wrong and second you didn't even say your excuse of hating you just coping from other people 😂 funny
I don’t mind people not buying other comics or movies about other dc characters is that they don’t want to see that and it’s their money. My problem is how Batman’s written, I wouldn’t be surprised if he knocked out darkseid at this point.
As a Batman fan, I notice that other Batman fans are quite close-minded and balk at doing anything new with the character and his cast and setting. They always want the same old, executed in the same way. Or in other words, “NOT MUH BATMAN!”.
As a Batman fan, I am the worst for this, I only ever watch and read Batman related products and I shit over other people who don’t like the character, I know I’m wrong for this but that’s been my mentality for the past 30yrs
My favorite live action Batman is Christian Bale. While more realistic, I feel his version leans a little more towards Kevin Conroy's Batman outside of the killing aspect. All 3 movies are close to the source material.
As a fan of superheroes both DC and Marvel, I have never been like these people at all. When I first saw Spider-Man 2 way back in 2004, I was instantly obsessed but then when the first Lego Batman game came out 4 years later, I became a fan of Batman then later in my teens, I grew to like other DC and Marvel characters and it just grew from there. I don't just like ONE CHARACTER and that's it. I obviously like variety and find out more about them over time. There are some characters like Ironheart and MCU Captain Marvel who don't work for me don't get me wrong and I do get pissed off when my favourite characters like Reed Richards, Tim Drake or Hulk or even Thor are not portrayed properly. But I give things a shot and don't just stick to one superhero for the rest of my life.
In my opinion on toxic fandoms or people tunnel vision on things about characters whether comic, cartoon, or live action is that the tunnel vision may be a comfort zone which leads to the toxicity of people. The other problem with fandoms is people forget that there are variables to help characters. Also the batman cartoon show is my favorite non live action batman. As for live action Keaton batman, bale batman, batfleck, pattison batman
My favourite live action Batman is Robert Pattinson. At first i didn't like the idea but the trailers looked good and when I finally watched the film with my friend, we were both very surprised. After the film everyone even clapped their hands in the theatre because they were surprised too. Now my favourite Batman overall is Kevin Conroy (RIP) because he is the Batman I grew up with
I love Pattinson's Batman. Dark and brooding. But i also honestly really like Afflecks Bruce Wayne. Lively and charismatic. If you could mix the two it would be the perfect live action representation imo.
Isn't this like every dedicated die hard fandom ever ? I see it everywhere, like comic books, movies, tv series, pro wrestling, history, science, sports, you name it, it has fanbase that is like that and they are gatekeeping it and are always like:"No, that's not accurate, it should have been this way", Im big Batman fan too and I can somewhat understand it but it is kinda tedious and every hardcore fanbase is like this.
Honestly I never really understood the Batman hype train The only versions of him i like are Lord Batman/dcau or Flashpoint/Lego/ New52 The Batman movie and Owlman to a slightly lesser extent
@@bossmine3997 No, it is what a normal person would say about an idiot director who hates the source material And you can roll over in bed and tell him that.
@@dhenderson1810 thanks for proving right you unhinged weirdo. How can you call him an idiot and say that he hates the source when you only see the characters in one specific way with one specific outcome to their story.
I'm glad you mentioned money; when I first got into Comics, I'd grab anything that caught my eye in the comic book shop, I'd walk out with a whole collection in my hand... and I nearly went Bankrupt from it. Fortunately I was still a teenager and after cutting back and only focusing on a few of my favorite characters, I recovered, but yeah, I suppose, at least as far as comics go, I am tunnel visioned, but that's because I need to, for the sake of my money.
Awesome video, I couldn't have said it better myself. Question of the Day - Personally, I love the Pattinson Bat. The kind of Batman that I love is very dark, gloomy, brooding, and a loner. I think that Pattinson did all of these things perfectly, and he made Bruce seem like he's a bit unhinged like something is wrong with him. Terrible description, but that's what I love in Batman personally As far as non live action, I love the Jason O'Mara Batman from the DCAMU
For your QOTD I would say that my favorite live action portrayal of Batman has to be Val Kilmer. I know several people forget about Batman Forever and hate it, but I honestly loved it. It's not the perfect Batman movie by any means, that title goes to The Dark Knight or The Batman. However, what stood out to me most was how Batman was portrayed. The story is focused primarily on this internal conflict of what is Bruce's identity? Can Batman and Bruce Wayne co-exist? I feel like the story did great in trying to have him explore those feelings. It allowed character development for Bruce that I feel was lacking in "Batman 1989" and "Batman Returns". To me in those films, Bruce felt more like a punisher than the Batman. He killed his enemies and had no remorse for it. He also just did not have lots of growth from the two movies. It was an interesting story, especially his the part we figure out Joker is the killer of his parents, but at the same time it felt empty. Val Kilmer explored the regret that he has for taking the life of all the villains he faced. He has a sense of responsibility that many see Batman with. You can see his relationship with Robin develop and how he wants him to be better than he ever was. How Riddler shows that being Batman not only affects his crusade, but his personal life as well. Not to mention Val Kilmer's acting let the audience connect with Bruce Wayne more. Once he has gone through the journey of figuring out his identity, he is able to confront Riddler and put an end to his plans. He lets Nigma know that he has finally discovered himself and he can be who he chooses to be. "I'm both Bruce Wayne and Batman. Not because I have to be, now...because I choose to be." That's just the plot stuff for me. Aside from that I feel like Batman Forever provided a great balance of a goofy campy Batman, and a more serious one. I won't lie there are some parts that are way too goofy like Two-Face, but although Harvey wasn't the best in this film I can die on the hill that Bruce Wayne was. I don't see Batman as the serious killer that Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck played. I don't see him as goofy as Adam West. I don't see him with a weird voice like Christian Bale...seriously I love his Batman, but what the fuck was his voice. I see Batman the way the DCAU and Arkham portrayed him. As a serious guy, but when the time comes for a bit of light heartedness in his character, those moments will shine. Kilmer is my definitive live-action Batman as much as Kevin is my definitive animated one.
I guess my Sales Pitch on Green Lantern would be this: “Unlike someone like Batman, who pretty much is always Bruce Wayne; Green Lantern can tell anyone’s story. Despite Hal Jordan being the titular main green bean, there are many Lantern Corps with many distinct characters. The Corps interact and fight each other in various ways, their different powers have different impacts! Plus, already existing Heroes can join Lantern Corps! We’ve seen it with Superman, Batman, Supergirl, etc! Green Lantern is capable of telling a myriad of different stories for different characters. That’s the main strength of such a concept like Lantern Corps!”
I recently watched mask of the phantasm for the first time and I gotta say it’s one of my favorite versions already because it makes Batman feel a little more relatable and grounded in Duluth a short movie
There's a lot about batman fans that I could unpack, but I don't want to leave a bloated comment, so I'll just leave a small gripe I have with batman fans. Ahem...the crimes of batman's villains do not alleviate the crimes of batman. And believe me there...are...several.
I don’t really have anything to come in on in the first half of the video but you’re spot on in the second half with why I do not like hardcore Batman fans
His prep time helps, with some opponents it means his victory a decent amount of the time. But if he fights a character that would beat him without it its not a sure victory with it
I think this attitude that Batman fans have with the character as being 'the ultimate superhero' can turn most people off, and give them the impression that 'Batman is overrated', and I get that. Especially fi you're A fan of other DC characters who don't nearly as much recognition, or love from 'casuals'.
I totally understand the tunnel vision. It reminded me of when you were doing a live stream and you were talking with Slcmof about UA-cam. Where do you guys say when you go make a video about something else that isn't Batman it doesn't do well. But if you made a video about Batman even though there wasn't much effort into it. It did really well so I do understand where the problem is. Even I know this which is why my channel is just mainly Batman and not any other character. Because I understand if I do any other character I know It won't do as well. I recently did a spider-man audio comic for my friend Batman in a chair. And that did decent but if I did a Batman Audio I promise you it would have done even well. However I don't have a problem with this Because I love Batman. Him or Terry maybe leading towards more Terry. Also favorite live action Batman is Robert because he's more close to the comics than other live action Batman. Also sorry for writing for so long my bad man.
I think the problem is that any large fandom has these kinda toxic factions, for instance, at least in terms of moeny spent, my biggest fandom is Transformers, and there we've got faction lines drawn deep between all different iterations of the franchise, particularly the Michael Bay Movies and Generation 1, and there can be some quite heated arguments between these different factions, with those of us who just like the franchise as a whole caught in the middle. That's just an example, we have it for Marvel, for Star Wars, name a franchise, there will be people like that. And I believe, I genuinely do, that they are not the majority, they do not speak for all of us, it's simply the fact that they shout loud, while we do not, we are quiet, in part out of a desire not to engage with them, we just sit at home and like what we like, but because we don't make as much noise, those noisy, toxic corners of out fandoms are the ones people outside of us think we all are.
I'm just tired that 95% of an IP's roster is just strait up ignored. Another channel pointed out: How many Wonder Woman characters can you name compared to Batman. Since Batman has been in the public eye moreso than all of the other DC characters combined? Even I know some of his lore even if I only really enjoyed Adam West Batman.
If you look back at the game universe of the superhero genre for the SNES I played Batman returns, Death & Return of Superman, Spider-man: Maximum Carnage, even during the PS3 era they had created both Iron Man games based off of the first two movies, Captain America super soldier, Thor god of thunder and the Incredible Hulk. During the PS2 era they had Batman Begins, Spider-man (Toby McGwire version), Hulk (Eric Banna), Fantastic Four, Ghost Rider, Blade and Superman Returns which we’re based off of their respect movies.
My favorite live action Batman is the dark knight trilogy because of the amazing stories. I also liked The Batman (2022) because the story was new I’m very glad that it didn’t repeat the death of Batman’s parents
On your point about showing people stuff and explaining why they should care, I've tried, and most people just aren't interested. They don't want to listen. Therefore, I given up on convincing people to get into comics. It's their loss and not my problem.
I like some of the movies like Batman 89, Batman Returns, Batman Forever, The Batman & (my favorite one) Return of the Joker. Since we're talking about live action my favorite Batman is between Michael Keaton and Robert Pattinson. Michael's BatMan was entertaining but Robert's has a better story and character ark. Also Val Kilmer's Batman is extremely underrated (at least think he is, I don't remember hearing him get much credit). Now my favorite Batman in general is easily Batman Beyond.
Ben Affleck is my personal favorite Live-Action Batman I know there are several different iterations. But, to me Affleck is Frank Miller 's version brought to life. And the look is INCREDIBLY comic book accurate. I just wish we were able to see more. I wanted to see that Batman fighting Deathstroke in the Affleck solo film.
I been a big Batman fan since 12 years old now 41. my favourite movie is Batman begins Christian Bale as my favourite actor. Conroy is my favourite in BTAS and Arkham games. He happens to be have the best stories and villains etc that I enjoy watching and reading. I buy Batman stuff I only can afford what I like but I know a lot of other superheroes such as Superman or Wonder Woman’s background that doesn’t mean I hate other characters

Especially if it released for a system with stylus options, or Skyward Sword-like conrols.)
Never been a Flash game (lolz...you know what I mean).
Flash...I'd think Flash IS harder, I won't lie.

@@assassin8636 Since you clearly didn't understand what I said I'll try to simplify it:
• Yes obviously Batman is popular but DC pushed him too hard compared to other characters, just look up the optics of hie many Batman and Superman comic appearances there are compared to other DC characters and compare that to the balance of Marvel characters.
• DC should've spent more time using Batman to bolster other characters like Marvel does with say Wolverine or Spider-man.

I always saw the prep time thing as people taking the piss and having fun with it how paranoid batman is
As a spiderman fan I sometimes like to engage in a toxic debate with other fans who are just as big of a spidey dork as I am but it has been more chill online since Nwh
【 *"With Prep Time"* 】
Is *Self-Flagullatiom* plain and simple !
Because their annoying. I'm the single biggest Batman stan and truly believe he can beat Lucifer, but even I can see how unlikeable I am. We don't care. Batman gave us so much. Least we can be is loyal. We should probably stop being so obsessive, tho...
prep time🤓🤮❌
Plot armor✔️
Bro you are a Brain dead😂 you involve the writing to the powerscaling
When Iron Man uses his thick plot armor, which is stronger than Jesus, and makes suits and fights gods with it
fans: This is badass, what a great prep time and you say this is my Ironman
- Batman makes the strongest suits in the universe and defeats an enemy.
Fans: This is forbidden and does not make sense, this is plot armor, prep time is cap, yes this Hypocrisy
Why are you crying here 😂 and commenting the same
1:04 man you might be right, i personally don't f with any other dc heroes aside from the batfamily and teen titans
batman having a sidekick being robin is a hot topic.
I bet Batman with prep time can't prepare me a 5-star gourmet Michelin star 3-course dinner
I can’t come across a Battinson post without “fans” hating in the comments
My favorite Batman is Christian Bale. The movies did such a good job showing what a realistic Batman would be like. The Dark Knight also gave us a the best Joker I could ever ask for.
i really like to thank christoper nolan making batman back on top afther that 1997 movie.
I love Batman Forever. Very Underrated.
Robert Pattinson is easily my favorite live action Batman, he embodies the detective and dark depressing vibes so perfectly, I love seeing a younger more angrier Batman that was inexperienced and was still trying to figure out who he was as a person and I can't wait to see him develop as a character and hopefully grow out his Bruce Wayne persona
Ps, spiderman and Batman are both peak 🔥
Battinson is my definitive Batman
@@thegreatacolyt1277 just in general friend?
my top 2 best movie batmen are bale and keaton.
@user-zd1oc3pz8s If Bale didn't do that hilarious voice, he would be one of the best.
Look it up.
Me personally; I've given a lot of comic characters a chance, but the Batman universe is the only one I have a lot of interest in.
Batfanboys are to Comicbook universe what Bronsexuals are to Sports.
I like Robert Pattinson's Batman cause he's literally me (I'm vengeance).
@@Jack.Martson 💯💯💯
@@Jack.Martson not to mention he made Superman kill a crazy amount of people
I’m a Batman fan and I like a bunch of hero’s he is a short list but it is much longer:
Sonic
Crash bandicoot
Mario (kind of)
Doom guy
Master chief
Black adam
Superman
And many more
for me batman spiderman sonic mario thundercats and sliverhawks and black panther.
The larger the fanbase, the louder the love and the louder the hate. I think that’s more the issue
The most hardcore Batman fans think Bruce is flawless and unbeatable and that's just not true
And my favorite live-action performance of Batman I know that he's not Batman very long in the show but it's Gotham
And the reason I love Batman it's because he never gives up and he understands other people's pain
9:07 AYOO, BAT- BATMAN?..... WHA- WHAT ARE YOU DOING? 😳
@@bigdoinks2006 he plotted several ways to take down the Justice League from present and passed
@@bigdoinks2006 yes but the Justice League wanted him to do it after they learned about it
@KNIGHTWING8307 yes they wanted him to.
Ben Affleck Batman is my favorite feels like Batman aa far as what he is capable of
As a Batman fan, I am the worst for this, I only ever watch and read Batman related products and I shit over other people who don’t like the character, I know I’m wrong for this but that’s been my mentality for the past 30yrs
The argument that we batman fans only read Batman is stupid cause we also read batfamily comics
I've been reading comics about every Justice League members lately, these die-hard BatFans just make it seem like we only watch or read Batman
for me. its batman. superman spiderman. ironman and black panther i dont read the batfamily just bruce alone.
My favorite live action batman is Micheal keaton because he has such a cool aurua as the character.
My favourite live action Batman is Robert Pattinson. At first i didn't like the idea but the trailers looked good and when I finally watched the film with my friend, we were both very surprised. After the film everyone even clapped their hands in the theatre because they were surprised too. Now my favourite Batman overall is Kevin Conroy (RIP) because he is the Batman I grew up with
Battinson to me is the definitive Batman though he has some flaws he’s so far the most faithful to the source material.
I love Pattinson's Batman. Dark and brooding. But i also honestly really like Afflecks Bruce Wayne. Lively and charismatic.
If you could mix the two it would be the perfect live action representation imo.
As a batman fan, I can tell that batman has plot armor
Isn't this like every dedicated die hard fandom ever ? I see it everywhere, like comic books, movies, tv series, pro wrestling, history, science, sports, you name it, it has fanbase that is like that and they are gatekeeping it and are always like:"No, that's not accurate, it should have been this way", Im big Batman fan too and I can somewhat understand it but it is kinda tedious and every hardcore fanbase is like this.
The Batman the animated series was my favorite. He had his moments where he was struggling and having doubts about whether he’s doing good out there.
Favorite Batman movies: Dark knight Trilogy, The Batman and my guilty pleasure is Batman and Robin
Honestly I never really understood the Batman hype train The only versions of him i like are Lord Batman/dcau or Flashpoint/Lego/ New52 The Batman movie and Owlman to a slightly lesser extent
Says he doesn't understand why people like batman, then says he likes 5 different versions of the dude
@Davetonitheone I didn't say I did not understand why people like the character, just not the over hype surrounding him You have selective hearing
Batman, Hulk, Punisher and Deathstroke fans are rough to listen to
Love Batman (mainly the one from the DCAU), hate his fans, mainly those who blindly defend Zack Snyder's abysmal take on The Caped Crusader.
Eh no, it's the people who hate that are extremely blind and delusional but they always want to find reasons to hate Zack

Terrible description, but that's what I love in Batman personally
As far as non live action, I love the Jason O'Mara Batman from the DCAMU
My favorite Batmen are Kevin Conroy and Christan Bale.
Man I just hate the prep time argument but I love the character😭
Finally someone is honest not a hyperitce 😊
Not because I have to be, now...because I choose to be."
That's just the plot stuff for me.
Because Batman refuses to kill his boy toy ! Literaly the worst ani-hero ever
Batman has prep time aka plot armor
Batman is the modernized re-telling of The Trials of King Odysseus, Batman fans love him for that even if they don’t understand that.
Many times I run into situations and problems and I think what would batman do in this situation? It helps a lot 😂
On your point about showing people stuff and explaining why they should care, I've tried, and most people just aren't interested. They don't want to listen.
Therefore, I given up on convincing people to get into comics. It's their loss and not my problem.
Main problem with Batman: He’s never a bat.
Then that just makes him a furry with a leather kink
He's always just Man.
Great video, i think the worst Fandom i saw is the star wars Fandom
