The only thing we did was never told anyone that we are in sabbatical. 2- if you get a good placement, then drop your resignation mail to HR. Best part is you don't have to serve any notice period. Hi, 1- you can take LWP on health reasons, as sick leaves are limited. The process remains the same, approach your HR and manager and seek their approval. 2- unfortunately, distance learning courses maynot fetch you Refitment, however it will be best to talk to your HR once, they may guide you with latest updates. Hi sampad, Thanks for reaching out.Firstly if you are in XLRI then I would strongly suggest to try and take placement from campus itself. Because there is high probability of landing in a better company and salary. If you want to return to tcs, then the expected roles would be of a program manager, project maanger, pre-sales role. If you are lucky you can get into strategy roles also. The salary hike would be of range 80-120 % from your current salary. Hope it helps.

Hi Ashish, You have to join your base location from where you avail LWP, irrespective of the from where you are pursuing your masters. According to the rules, employees need to report to their base locations. The policy is in place to prevent employees from taking an advantage of it. In fact, just before the sabbatical if you request the HR to accommodate, they vehemently oppose. However, I have come across some people who have rejoined in Canada. After graduating, people receive Post Graduate work permit, which legally allows them to work in that particular country, now that Visas take a lot of time for approval they usually prefer utilizing the talent that is available in that geography. However, this didn't work for 2 of my acquaintance, they were located in USA and Ireland. So it's very complicated.

Hi, You have to join tcs india only, because thatvit the geography of tcs from where you have availed tcs and you are employed. Usually they allow you to join, but you have to provide all the evidence that you had opted for a course along with the marksheets for the semester you were enrolled in the college. Hi Anu, Justification is usually given by your Manager. In my case my manager wrote the justification. If you have to write yourself then you may write that your upgraded educational qualifications and skills are relevant to the project. Hi, What I have seen is you will get band for the period you served in tcs before taking the LWP. Suppose you took LWP from June, so your project in which you worked from April - June will give you final anniversary rating and generally they give C. So your allowance may be revoked. Hi, No tcs does not provide any experience letter. However you can ask for LWP letter from HR. In case of placement, have your offer letter of tcs with you, along with the LWP letter. 1- me and my friends did not face any problems. We were allowed to sit in campus placement as well as summer internship. The only thing we did was never told anyone that we are in sabbatical.
2- if you get a good placement, then drop your resignation mail to HR. Best part is you don't have to serve any notice period.

1- you can take LWP on health reasons, as sick leaves are limited. The process remains the same, approach your HR and manager and seek their approval.
2- unfortunately, distance learning courses maynot fetch you Refitment, however it will be best to talk to your HR once, they may guide you with latest updates.

Thanks for reaching out.Firstly if you are in XLRI then I would strongly suggest to try and take placement from campus itself. Because there is high probability of landing in a better company and salary.
If you want to return to tcs, then the expected roles would be of a program manager, project maanger, pre-sales role. If you are lucky you can get into strategy roles also.
The salary hike would be of range 80-120 % from your current salary.

According to the rules, employees need to report to their base locations. The policy is in place to prevent employees from taking an advantage of it. In fact, just before the sabbatical if you request the HR to accommodate, they vehemently oppose.
However, I have come across some people who have rejoined in Canada. After graduating, people receive Post Graduate work permit, which legally allows them to work in that particular country, now that Visas take a lot of time for approval they usually prefer utilizing the talent that is available in that geography. However, this didn't work for 2 of my acquaintance, they were located in USA and Ireland. So it's very complicated.

You have to join tcs india only, because thatvit the geography of tcs from where you have availed tcs and you are employed.
There is no provision of getting moved to the tcs location outside of India from where you pursued your MBA.

No you won't be allocated to the same project instead you'll be on bench and RMG will share your updated resume.
You can choose the project and role within your education/ preference.

No it won't affect your future employment. Your service letter will have exact number of LWP days mentioned in it, so you can justify that. It won't be an issue.

If Someone is taken lwp for higher studies 2 years, after completing 1 year he don't want go continue the higher studies for some personal reason,Then he can join TCS immediately after 1 year of lwp ?

In that case you need to convey the same to the HR and wait for their response.
Usually they allow you to join, but you have to provide all the evidence that you had opted for a course along with the marksheets for the semester you were enrolled in the college.
HR will guide you and tell you all the document required.

After that you can request for transfer from the RMG to your preferred location.

Yes we have to exhaust all the EL and we get the complete salary for that.
I had 48 leaves and I got my 2 months + salary while I was studying at college.

Hi Manish, i wish to take LWP for MBA in tcs. My manager was initially not approving it but now he has approved it giving a clause that i need to complete my assignments before leaving. Now HR is processing the LWP request after consulting with hr leadership. Is there any chance it can get rejected now provided that my manager has given approval. Please reply to this.....

Don't worry, your LWP request won't be rejected. The main approval is from the project, since your manager has approved it so rest of the approvals will be done without any hiccups.

How to write justification for refittment post rejoining. Any sample or idea will be of great help

Justification is usually given by your Manager. In my case my manager wrote the justification.
If you have to write yourself then you may write that your upgraded educational qualifications and skills are relevant to the project. Then write the skills being used in the project and your new role after "MBA" and you posses those skills which will provide great value to project.

In my understanding, you can still join tcs even if you have your some exams left.
Only thing that would happen is your Refitment would be late, because for that you have to show your degree and marksheets.

What I have seen is you will get band for the period you served in tcs before taking the LWP. Suppose you took LWP from June, so your project in which you worked from April - June will give you final anniversary rating and generally they give C.
So your allowance may be revoked.
And after MBA you will get Refitment based on your MBA clg.

Your existing health insurance plan at the time of awailing LWP will remain active.
If you are an tcs employee having base location as India then the validity of the insurance might be valid in India only.

No tcs does not provide any experience letter. However you can ask for LWP letter from HR.
In case of placement, have your offer letter of tcs with you, along with the LWP letter. Companies ask for the experience certificate after you are selected and your documents needs to be verified. You can resign once you get an offer.

Yes the health insurance plan will be continued. They will cut the premium and add it as a negative balance under your employment. Once you resign then they will cut it in full and final settlement and if you join then they will cut from your first salary that you'll receive after joining.

No tcs do not provide any NOC.
I never told my clg that I am in sabbatical. I interview I told them I will provide you experience certificate during BGC.
In your case you just have to convince your clg management/ tnp that you will resign after you get selected in a company through campus placement.

1- No there is no bond after rejoining tcs post LWP. You can resign after salary revision but you have to serve 3 months notice period.
2- it will be specially mentioned in your Service certificate.
