Dinesh is an extremely sharp man, as you seem to be also. Amazed I'm just now finding out who you are. Everyone is concentrating on what their annual return % is and will be, with No regard to what their Tax rate % is and will be. Keep your eye on the ball America, Net return is your real return.

I just canceled my health insurance. Even if it isn't taxpayers paying your bill, you are paying higher insurance premiums to cover the inflated healthcare costs.
I am planning to just get catastrophic insurance. I have been paying out of pocket for my meds and dr appointments lately. I realized my insurance was costing me about $5k/yr above and beyond the cost of just paying out of pocket.
It is also interesting saying you are paying cash, because all the sudden the pharmacy and drs are automatically applying discounts to my bill.

The great Nobel prize winning economist Milton Friedman describes the four levels of efficiency when spending money from least efficient to most efficient:
    1. Other peoples money on other peoples things
    2. Your money on other peoples things.
    3. Other peoples money on your things.
    4. Your money on your things.

OK, having it in a Roth is better than a standard IRA, especially if tax rates go up in the future. But what happens if they get really desperate and change the law to allow even Roth to be taxed by some backdoor trick or even explicitly? Remember, they ALWAYS have more options than you can even dream up. If they want your money they are going to get it.

You have to plan on what is likely to happen not the low percentage worst case scenario. Only 5% of all retirement assets are in Roth so this scenario is not likely and not something you should probably worry about.
