10 seconds in... finally someone who talks slow enough to understand what you talk about. Thank you.
This instructor does a great job of teaching, while sewing samples, so students can actually understand what she is talking about. Good job!
Thank you for getting straight to the instruction without an overly long introduction!
Thank you. This was simple and to the point, just the way I learn best. I struggle to concentrate with excess talking or long videos. This was perfect.
Thank you for those great tips. I will definitely be putting them into practice.
Loved this video! I'm new to sergers, and this was very helpful!

i have only watched one video which is the tips and tricks and it is very good and usful please make more tutorial videos thank you
You are a very good teacher, as well as good seamstress. Well I have learned something from this machine, that scares me a lot. because once accidentally cut fabric. thank you very much
Thank you!
Good advice.
Thanks for the video :)
Thanks!
If you have an overcast presser foot for your sewing machine, you can create the same basic type of hem as a serger; it's just slower on a sewing machine. A serger will trim the edge of the fabric before it sews, whereas the sewing machine will not do this. I think there is a special foot for cutting, but I don't think you can combine it with an overcast foot, so either way it's going to be faster with a serger. If you cut your fabric straight, you should be able to use just a sewing machine.
How about more serger ideas? I really like these. Thanks.
Did your serger come with the blue dot on the pressure foot, or how did you determine it's position? Thanks
can i use 4 threads for attaching stretch fabrics?
I need some help. Can you please tell me how to get a 1/2 or wider stich out of my Janome 1200D? Doesn't matter which stitch it is I just need to get it wide as possible as it is going to be covered anyway. Please respond as I need some help now I can't find an answer anywhere. Thank you!
Hello, I have question , Can this serger make regular stitches like a simple sewing machine? Or I will need a regular sewing machine for that?
Thank you
What happens to the few inches of threads in the beginning and end. How do you "finish" the piece ?
Take a large eye needle, fish the tail through and weave back through the serged edge, then cut off any extra.
help just bought a janome serger sewed one seam now it won't make the stitches when i run the machine the straight threads just come out won't chain off or make the "serge" stitches. ??? I'm lost
My serger blade ...i can not get it to return to up so as to cut. I have a Janome 644d myLock . any suggestions on how to get it to lift up. it pushes in as it is to do before you turn it up. but maybe there is some step i don t know to do. thanks.. any help appreciated.
Whats the problem if the needle thread breaks during sewing inches long? Please help, thank you.
How to attach a bias tape foot to my alna serger no. 945
I like the video. Very helpful. I'm looking to purchase babylock protege. Do you have any comments on this serger?
Hello 9 years in the future. I hope you are well
what brand serger are you using?
Do you have to use a straight stitch before serging? I didn't think you did.
janome are famous for slipping, check to make sure both your loopers are threaded properly, rethread them. I have the same problem, before I figured it out I was ready to throw it out a window.
While I have never used the Baby Lock Protege, I have had the Baby Lock Eclipse, Imagine Wave, & now the Evolve, and while I know they are far more expensive than the Protege, if you are new to serging, and have any way you can swing it, I would keep an eye on Ebay for an Eclipse ( appx. $500), Imagine ($700 to with wave $1,515), Evolve ($800) those are average prices, they vary. Protege should be OK too, just more work.
This is pretty much what I've been looking for. I'm just wondering, you said a seam stitch prior to serging is not always necessary. I'm doing a pair of leggings. So I would not need to do a seam stitch first, right? Also, I'm curious about the hem. How would I know where to fold the hem up to after serging it at the ankles of the leggings?
You can assemble leggings on serger yes, seam will hold fine, then turn up hem and top stitch with a twin stretch needle on sewing machine. I would not even bother to trim that raw edge, it won’t fray.
"Sew Quick And Easy"
Is that your basic hem? Or is that something else?
Are you able to serge fabric with a regular sewing machine?
You can use a zigzag stitch on the edge of the fabric.
I would zigzag and then go down with a straight stitch. This post beginning 9 years ago you probably already figured that out.
You have a jpop song in the back ground 0_o
Why let the machine do such a long tail after finishing the job?
Did she just say "Sew Fa King easy" in the beginning?
no you dont have to stitch before you serge
Thank you!
