People are shameless! This is an example of where we are going. I can’t figure out which is more breathtaking, how I imagine the house in its glory or how people have torn it up. All I want to do is restore it. Truthfully I’m sick. Thanks for the thoughts I have! Oh how I wish I could restore it!

    Hi Brandon
I was worried about those 2 closed doors. Glad no one was in there but the
mattress was evidence that someone has squatted there or still is.
Must have been a nice house before the vandalism. That interior glass
wall was cool. I’m surprised there wasn’t any graffiti. All together a nice
    explore.
I would never tell you what to do but you really should go on these
explorations with other people. Most of the other guy’s in Canada
do. One time you had Noah with you. We don’t want to see you hurt
even though you are a big guy and can take care of yourself.
    Stay safe and well.👍🆒😊

The house was heated by electric. My guess is that ductwork was added later and an auxiliary gas furnace added, which was on the main floor. Or the added ductwork could have been AC. I like electric baseboard heat, but it’s expensive and usually means no AC. In Michigan, we have need of both heat and AC. Brandon, you have moved to my number one spot for explorers. You moved ahead of Proper People. Here’s some things I like about your videos: 1)no cursing. If I hear the F bomb one more time, I’m going to lose it. Some explorers use it in every sentence whether it makes sense or not. 2) I like how you acknowledge the viewer as if we are physically exploring with you. I feel like a buddy on an excursion. I would actually enjoy that for real, but I will have to settle with YT. 3) I like how you have some knowledge of building. I know you work in construction, so you probably know quite a bit about the structure itself and the mechanicals. 4) I like how you show basements. I love looking at the mechanicals. I used to buy houses to flip. I would walk in where the the realtor let me in, and head straight to the basement. You can tell most of what you need to know down there, such as electrical box, water heater, wiring, plumbing, furnace, termites, water leaking/flooding. If possible, next I would look in the attic. I wanted to see under the shingles. A roofer told me what to look for as to what the shingles were nailed to-what was code and what needed replacement. New shingles is expensive enough, but to install plywood as well would really increase costs. Then and only then would I look at the house. Paint, wallpaper, and carpet are meaningless, but hardwood floors, bathrooms without rot, and workable kitchen cabinets are important. I loved tearing out, cleaning up, and painting. I had to hire out big jobs, but I started doing my own mudding after I saw my guy do it. It’s barely more than frosting cakes. He saw my work after I started doing it, and he praised my work. I’m pretty good if I do say so myself. Then very minimal but eye-catching decor and the For Sign went up. I had a nice little biz going in 2012-2014, but real estate prices started rising and I ran out of capital. Anyway, I hope you keep your style the same as you are doing it now. I know this house didn’t have a basement, but most explorers don’t show them, or if they do, it’s a cursory look without focus on furnace, water heater, plumbing, and electrics. Thanks for another good explore! See you in the next one! --Christine PS: I’m not sure, but this house seems a lot like my son’s house, which was built in 1959, so I’m guessing this is a 60’s house, not a 70’s house. Anyone else have an idea on the age of the house? All that bathroom tile wasn’t how bathrooms were done in the 70’s, so far as I remember.

Were they going for the industrial look? It doesn’t fit the style of the home. Must have been nice before it got trashed.

It’s so sad to see a beautiful house get destroyed by a people. What goes around, comes around! 7 years for broken mirrors and since ithink windows are most expensive…..double! 14 years! Just my thought! Thanks Brandon!

Was it just me or was the house strange? There would be very nice things, like the FP, but then there’d be the duct work (I guess that’s what they were), just exposed, not walled in or anything done to try to make them any less obvious. Also the rooms looked to be mostly very small except for a few, but maybe it’s just my imagination. Thanks for the video.

Was a beaut when it was built around 1970 my guess, then someone decided to wreck the appearance with exposed ac ductwork. All was needed to be done was put an ac air handler unit and related ductwork in the small attic over the upstairs hallway and run ducts in the 2nd fl closets for the first floor.
Thanks for the tour Mr. B!!
