Hi, do you sell burn proof decal paper?
Hey..hi , is that a lamination sheet that you covered the tracing paper and the foil with ? And then run it through the lamination machine??

+Bhumika Dedhia I used a Heidi swapp transfer pouch. Please do not use a lamination sheet as your paper inside will be completely laminated.

I would NOT burn this candle with the paper on, it will burn baby burn! there are too many tutorials about decorated candles which do not understand the dangers of candles burning with intense heat, meeting with a layer of paper on the outside. You must clearly state to whoever you give it to = REMOVE THE PAPER COVER BEFORE BURNING THIS CANDLE!!!
+bobzthecat I agree that some people don't understand the dangers of burning candles, but as I have stated it is okay to use burn proof paper (as long as they purchased the correct paper!) or use burn proof decal paper specifically made for candles.

I have a problem. I am having gold foil flecks left on the vellum sheet the size of the piece of foil. Words look great but yeah the foil that should not have printed as there is no ink on those area's.

These are decorative candles, keepsakes. Not for burning but as a display to keep.

Does this work with Heidi Swapp 6" minc machine? That is much cheaper.
This process does work on either size machine but with the 6” machine you would be limited to the smaller paper size and possibly need a smaller candle.

Would vellum paper work?
Unfortunetly not :( Vellum is flammable. You could use it if you do not plan to light it.

Any ideas on how I can transfer my letters/design onto gold foil from waterslide decal paper?
I tried doing the same process in your video but the whole paper became gold, not just the letters.

Hi lovely tutorial.. was wondering if you can use vinyl on candles too?
What brand, double sided tape do you use? Have you had experience using a regular laminator? I attempted with a normal one and it came out a little cracked. Not solid like yours.
We use a couple different brands of tape such as 3m, simon says, ultimate crafts etc...
I would not use a regular laminator because they cannot get hot enough. The foil needs an even hot heat to stick to laser toner.

This is a standard size church candle so you shouldn't have much problem finding it. Some stores are spotlight, variety stores and possibly dusk. The best bet would be online though.

Not sure what you are referring to. We haven’t used any apps, there are no images.

Yes, it would work if it was used as a wrap.

You could use any adhesive for this project as long as it is not flammable

Is that tracing paper = vellum? I'm trying to find some and my searches for "tracing paper" are yielding carbon paper and thin paper rolls like baking paper etc - I don't think that's right because yours is thicker. And BTW for anyone who is wondering about a laminator - I use my $30 "be" brand one from Big W (Australia) for foiling with no probs at all ;) Thanks so much for your tutorials BTW. I always enjoy watching them. :)
+Alisa Gordon Hi Alisa, I used 'translucent tracing paper' which we stock but it can also be called Vellum. Although, some vellum papers have a slight texture which reduces the foil quality.

I've just bought a Minc machine and I am trying to make my daughter a candle. The gold foil doesn't transfer entirely and I don't know how to fix it. I am using a laser jet print and the CMYK values are all correct. Some blogs say to try Decofoil. Do you have any tips on how I can make the gold foil come out right? Help!
It’s difficult to say what is happening in your case as there are heaps of variables. Laser printers all output toner differently, some printers output a lot more toner than others and this can have an effect on how much foil sticks to the paper. Another issue can be the paper you are using and what the surface is made of. Surfaces and textures can be very different from batch to batch. If you are able to foil other papers with no problems and it is not your printer, try using a different vellum or maybe give waterslide a try. Good luck!

No, I wouldn’t risk it unless the vinyl was heatproof
