    For " ULTRA LIGHT " three season backpacking Zpacks Duplex or Triplex camo is an option .

    I`ve got a Kaitum 3gt and a recently purchased Allak2, for different purposes. Love them both…

      Outdoor gear pf this quality is addictive, love my tents. These are my base on the outdoor sleeping gear even if I have been hammocking alot the latest years (again...). Hillebergs is definitely made by folks who knows what qualities that are essential for their users.

    Really good review Mattias. Through those instructions away. We like to discover, part of the adventure. Well, after three years how do you feel about the Akto? Nothing like a Hilleberg. I just got my Staika a week ago. So far a great tent. Old design. I may go with a Allak 3 sometime. However I will get a Soulo BL in the near future for my Nordic travels coming up. Hey, I bet you are the one who taught Robert to snap through time.

    • @Braapncamp
      @Braapncamp  Рік тому

      Hahaa, Rob was born to snap thru time 🤣. I really like the Hilleberg tents and the Allak (2) is the one i habe used most over the years. It is great for motocamp as well with some more room. I most camp solo though and been on hike thru trails, thats why i got me the Akto. The Akto is really robust but still within low weight. Quick to set up. I really missed it this summer on my trip to Norway, butvonly a couple of the nights, the rest of the overnighter was great/better with the hammock. To sit upright with more comfort in the Akto i need to remove two or thre toggles at the innertent. A Soulo has that extra inner height for comfort. The Akto is actually rooms enough for motocamp as well with it's large abside and romy inner floor. These tents last very long and could be passed over to grown up kids so the investment is good. Customer support from Hilleberg is excellent. Love quality family business products 👌.
      ...and regarding the instruktionsbok Yiu bet I had read them over and over again online before getting the tent 👀🤣 But for sure we like to be adventurous 💪🤠🔥.

    Very good video , well put together and excellent camera work. Mattias is right, the views are lovely and the high resolution filming shows them to perfection. What is that gorgeous guitar track playing whilst Mattias is pitching the tent at minute 8 of the video?

      Thanks for Your positive feedback. I put a link below. The soundtrack is from Epidemic Sound. "To Wonderland" with Headlund. I like it and other tracks from same guy myself for outdoor videos. www.epidemicsound.com/track/uYU696OhZW

    Nice review! I have the Unna, and I just noticed it's made by the same guy that made your Akto :) Very happy with it!

      Hey, that's very cool! Love my tents, but this night I'm sleeping outdoors in AMOK hammock. First try so I will see how it ends 😂 looks very nice so far.

    Nice work Mattias!
    Where do you usually put all your riding gear during night? Inside the tent or on the bike?

    • @Braapncamp
      @Braapncamp  4 роки тому

      Thanks mate! In the larger Allak i putt all riding gear in the tent and some bags in the absides (it has two). In the smaller Akto i do the same but boots could be places in the abside. But at both tent i can store all stuff in tent or absides. Its often damp at night in the north so its nice to keep stuff dry. Stove is most often stored in the abside but could be left outside as well since it works in all weather. Happy trails!

      @@Braapncamp Great! I have the Akto too but never used it for moto camp, I usually go with the slight larger MSR Exile 2 that will fit all my gear inside. But next time I'll go with the Akto :). Btw, sun is shining here in Stockholm so maybe already tonight.. :D

    Bit late to the party, but on the subject of footprints, I ended up buying a batch of Mylar hypothermia blankets and putting a couple under my tent (pyramid).
    It's not as neat as a dedicated footprint and is a bit noisy but it's VERY lightweight.

      Thats a great tips James, never thought of that as an alternative. I like the possibilities of dual use as well.

    Thank you for the video, Mattias. Could you comment on your experiences pitching the Akto in good and bad weather throughout the seasons, please? Has it lived up to your expectations? Thanks again.

    • @Braapncamp
      @Braapncamp  3 роки тому

      Thanks! The Ajto is made for tough weather. It's design is just perfext for pitching the tent with the wind in your back. The low ventilations at each side makes wind ventilate thru the tent. If i'm not hammocking, the Akto is my first choise. Robust and acceptable weight, i would not like any flimsy ultra light tent compared to this.

      Used my Akto since 25 years in all sorts of weather and seasons. Mountaineering and bicycling in Scandinavia. Still fully functional and trustworthy. Condensation is an issue, which has to dealt with. Often used without inner tent, making place for two.

    Can you compress the akto to a smaller packing size ?

    • @Braapncamp
      @Braapncamp  3 роки тому +1

      Yes, it compress well. If you store the tent poles separately you can kompress it alot. Another tip is to not carry it in the tent bag. Just stuff it down in the backack tihmgeather with outer stuff thats mostly the most effective way to optimize packvolume of the kit.

  • @MorganSundqvist

    Thank you for a great video. I own a Staika which is pretty similar to the Allak. Would you recommend me getting a Akto if I'm looking for a lighter tent?

    • @Braapncamp
      @Braapncamp  4 роки тому +1

      Thanks Morgan, Akto or Soulo. Akto is more extreme and proven solid design. Soulo has more head room if that is prio. But i love my Akto, so nice and small to pack and as well roomy. Large abside. If you want to sit upright you can detache the inner tent partly and there are better headroom.

      @@Braapncamp Thanks for the reply. Great idea disconnecting the inner! I was a bit worried by not being able to sit upright

    • @Braapncamp
      @Braapncamp  4 роки тому +1

      Morgan Sundqvist i'm 182 and sit upright, nearly with innertent and easy with just one part of the top toggles detached. No struggle to get sit comfort.

    Two totally different tents, but neverthless I liked your comparisation very much. Saw the entire video, it is interesting. You mentioned that you used the Allak during canoeing, right? I am a sea paddler, and during my trips I rely on my Hilleberg Unna (I am also on UA-cam). Every time in the end of a long day it is a pleasure to put up the Hillie! Regards from Spain.

    • @Braapncamp
      @Braapncamp  4 роки тому +1

      Thanks Kayasper! Yes i do kajaking, canoeing, hiking and adventure riding with the Allak. The Akto is for backpacking and adventure riding as an alternative to my hammock. Freestanding tent is a must when kayaking at the coasts of Sweden. Cool I have to check your channel!

      Yes, these are top notch in the two segments. Kids borrow them on hikes. I personally choose the Akto when hiking solo (or with my dog) and the Allak if kayaking or we are two. I've been hammocking though lately.
