I just wanna add my 2 cents if it helps, if you encounter the “Something went wrong, An unknown error occurred" at 40%. Just restart your iPhone and open up whatsapp again to continue the process that worked for me. Thanks for the video it did work 100% after all.

@@lol-wr2jgmy situation may have been a bit different due to the fact that i have an esim only in the 15pro. I believe i had the esim activated on the iphone but i think that even if you keep it in the android it shouldn’t cause an issue. You may restart your phone perhaps as the first time i tried to restore the backup it took forever and lagged. I tried it again and it worked (after waiting for more than 30 minutes i think)
Thanks for your video! I followed your steps and reset my iPhone. After launching whatsapp and following the on-screen instructions on iPhone, it did not show "move chats from Android" as like your video, but only "restore from iCloud", which I didn't have before. Updates: Finally succeed at third try. At the "Transfer Data" on Move to ios page, directly choose whatsapp first. After finished transfer chat, then only choose what other you would like to transfer like contacts etc. Double confirm that there shows number of GBs under whatsapp. Then follow all the instructions as in the video. Done!

Thanks for your help! I followed your steps and reset my iPhone again after I had my WhatsApp chats transferred. Then I selected Restore from iCloud. However only WhatsApp showed up. I think it's because I selected an option to restore from a backup I created from the first reset. What should I do? Could I go back to the original backup? I did a third reset but I could not find the original backup before any reset.
Friend - the idea is 1. backup (backup 1) iphone then factory data reset. 2. Transfer WhatsApp from android to iphone and transfer whatsapp from iphone to icloud. 3. Factory reset again, this time you no need to backup your phone (in case you backed up by mistake it will be backup 2 and will only have whatsapp). 4. Restore your phone from backup 1. 5. Thanks, it was the only thing that worked free, every other step was demanding money. Also the backup included everything. I backed up data on my pc through itunes. But the process took many hours. Better to do it on a weekend. If restoring data from iCloud on whatsapp gets stuck in last step, then close and then reopen the app, it will continue again.
Unfortunately it didn't work for me. Whatsapp just don't give me the old messages or the option to load them. 6 hours transferring everything but still it looks like it didn't transferred anything. Don't know what else to do :(

Dude - On esim phone you should get an option to Keep Mobile Plans/Keep Data Plans, please choose it. Settings' > 'General' > 'Reset' > 'Erase All Content and Settings' > 'Erase iPhone' >'Erase All and Keep Mobile Plans'. If it is new phone, you can do it in one go. But if you want to do it on iphone that is already having data, then you have to reset twice. 1st for getting whatsapp from android to iphone. 2nd for getting iphone data (that was there before start of the video) back to iphone. If we take backups like this and reset the iphone 2-3 times, and then after that Start the phone again and backup everything, Can we get the same settings we've done in the past in iphone, exact same setting, like camera setttings, accessibility settings?
Looks like a good video, but I am facing issue with verification code for whatsapp after transfer successful to iphone. Any solution for that. I had reset my phone atleast 10 times, but whatsapp not sending me code.

Good evening sir , after backing up the icloud ,i have an issue at 2:15 min after i put my passcode in , the screen shows uploading data to icloud and estimated time with additional option to skip back up . I wait for it to finish but it never finishes ,it ends by saying uploading to icloud failed ,with options erase anyway and don't erase iphone . What should i do ? I was stuck in second process. That is when I installed WhatsApp in iPhone and logged in using the same number it said “problem while moving chat” that too at 40%. And there were 2 options either skip or retry. Retry didn’t work. When I reinstalled WhatsApp, old chats were missing.

Thank you for your video. I have two questions. I haven't used my android in 2 years and I have been using same number in both. I tried move to ios initially but it didn't work like thiw earlier and I ended up using my iPhone anyways. I managed to transfer everything except my text messages and whatsapp. 1) I'm trying to copy my sms messages from old android to iphone iphone. It obviously worked til step 4 but when I restored iCloud backup ii could not see the messages again. 2) it appears whatsapp has overwritten and I'm unable to see older messages in android. Can you please respond?
I hope you now have 2 set of whatsapp messages. you can have any one not both. you can restore your old messages from android and let the 2 years worth of messages go. or you have forget about android messages and go ahead with what you have in iphone.

Eight month back I purchased a new iPhone. I was a Android user. Still i am using WhatsApp in Android phone. My brother have a iPhone 7. Right now he doesn't use it. For avoiding rest my new iPhone can do the same procedure in iPhone 7 to transfer watsapp, and login my same apple ID of new iPhone make a backup in iCloud. Then I will rest iphone 7. After that I will install WhatsApp in new iPhone and download the backup. Is this work?

depending how much data you need to transfer from whatsapp, yes it will take hours.. mine was about 3GB and it took me close to 4 hours to completely transfer.. i suggest to just let it run overnight while you sleep
After i enter the code it connects my android phone and the ihpone then its totally disconnecting from the home wifi and connecting to another network which is coming from the "move to ios app", please help me with this.
Failed at step 1. Whats app wasn´t transferred over to the iphone although I selected it. I have reset the darn phone 4 times by now (took 2,5 others for 1).

2. Didn't try to transfer anything else, only WhatsApp

@@lol-wr2jgmy situation may have been a bit different due to the fact that i have an esim only in the 15pro. I believe i had the esim activated on the iphone but i think that even if you keep it in the android it shouldn’t cause an issue. You may restart your phone perhaps as the first time i tried to restore the backup it took forever and lagged. I tried it again and it worked (after waiting for more than 30 minutes i think)
Thanks for your video! I followed your steps and reset my iPhone. After launching whatsapp and following the on-screen instructions on iPhone, it did not show "move chats from Android" as like your video, but only "restore from iCloud", which I didn't have before.
Updates: Finally succeed at third try. At the "Transfer Data" on Move to ios page, directly choose whatsapp first. After finished transfer chat, then only choose what other you would like to transfer like contacts etc. Double confirm that there shows number of GBs under whatsapp. Then follow all the instructions as in the video. Done!

Thanks for your help! I followed your steps and reset my iPhone again after I had my WhatsApp chats transferred. Then I selected Restore from iCloud. However only WhatsApp showed up. I think it's because I selected an option to restore from a backup I created from the first reset. What should I do? Could I go back to the original backup? I did a third reset but I could not find the original backup before any reset.
Friend - the idea is
1. backup (backup 1) iphone then factory data reset.
2. Transfer WhatsApp from android to iphone and transfer whatsapp from iphone to icloud.
3. Factory reset again, this time you no need to backup your phone (in case you backed up by mistake it will be backup 2 and will only have whatsapp).
4. Restore your phone from backup 1.
5. Restore WhatsApp from iCloud.

Thanks, it was the only thing that worked free, every other step was demanding money. Also the backup included everything. I backed up data on my pc through itunes. But the process took many hours. Better to do it on a weekend. If restoring data from iCloud on whatsapp gets stuck in last step, then close and then reopen the app, it will continue again.
Unfortunately it didn't work for me. Whatsapp just don't give me the old messages or the option to load them. 6 hours transferring everything but still it looks like it didn't transferred anything. Don't know what else to do :(

When I reseted factory/ Transferred WhatsApp and works fine,, at the same time all my app is already on the phone and photos and I hit the back up chat inside WhatsApp, SO what is the reason to back to factory settings for the second time? I would like to understand the reason behind it please.
Dude - On esim phone you should get an option to Keep Mobile Plans/Keep Data Plans, please choose it.
Settings' > 'General' > 'Reset' > 'Erase All Content and Settings' > 'Erase iPhone' >'Erase All and Keep Mobile Plans'.
If it is new phone, you can do it in one go. But if you want to do it on iphone that is already having data, then you have to reset twice.
1st for getting whatsapp from android to iphone.
2nd for getting iphone data (that was there before start of the video) back to iphone.

When I am on the transfer Data menu and select WhatsApp and click start, it shows getting chats ready but the after a minute “an unknown error occurred” message pops up.

If we take backups like this and reset the iphone 2-3 times, and then after that Start the phone again and backup everything, Can we get the same settings we've done in the past in iphone, exact same setting, like camera setttings, accessibility settings?

While Moving Chats it gets stuck in 40% if this is happen , restart the i phone and start moving again it will work

Good evening sir , after backing up the icloud ,i have an issue at 2:15 min after i put my passcode in , the screen shows uploading data to icloud and estimated time with additional option to skip back up . I wait for it to finish but it never finishes ,it ends by saying uploading to icloud failed ,with options erase anyway and don't erase iphone .

Dear Friend - 2:15 is actually where we erase iPhone data, since you’ve already backed up, you should skip back up and erase any way.
As an additional step, or if your iCloud backup is not working, you can actually do a complete backup of iPhone in your PC with below video:

I was stuck in second process. That is when I installed WhatsApp in iPhone and logged in using the same number it said “problem while moving chat” that too at 40%. And there were 2 options either skip or retry. Retry didn’t work. When I reinstalled WhatsApp, old chats were missing.
Setup in android again and see if you could restore from gdrive then retry the steps.

I tried move to ios initially but it didn't work like thiw earlier and I ended up using my iPhone anyways. I managed to transfer everything except my text messages and whatsapp.
1) I'm trying to copy my sms messages from old android to iphone iphone. It obviously worked til step 4 but when I restored iCloud backup ii could not see the messages again.
2) it appears whatsapp has overwritten and I'm unable to see older messages in android. Can you please respond?

you can restore your old messages from android and let the 2 years worth of messages go.
or you have forget about android messages and go ahead with what you have in iphone.

Eight month back I purchased a new iPhone. I was a Android user. Still i am using WhatsApp in Android phone. My brother have a iPhone 7. Right now he doesn't use it. For avoiding rest my new iPhone can do the same procedure in iPhone 7 to transfer watsapp, and login my same apple ID of new iPhone make a backup in iCloud. Then I will rest iphone 7. After that I will install WhatsApp in new iPhone and download the backup. Is this work?
Brother - The idea of using another iPhone to transfer WhatsApp from android to iCloud without resetting works fine. Though i have not tried it on iPhone 7. Noting wrong in trying it out.

Its saying preparing and has been stuck at 0% . I restarted both devices but still nothing has changed sadly. They are also on the same network .
Dude - pls try these steps side by side by and pls fully charge both.
depending how much data you need to transfer from whatsapp, yes it will take hours.. mine was about 3GB and it took me close to 4 hours to completely transfer.. i suggest to just let it run overnight while you sleep
I suggest you to verify if your whatsapp it's updated
After i enter the code it connects my android phone and the ihpone then its totally disconnecting from the home wifi and connecting to another network which is coming from the "move to ios app", please help me with this.
Failed at step 1. Whats app wasn´t transferred over to the iphone although I selected it. I have reset the darn phone 4 times by now (took 2,5 others for 1).

i never restarted the phone ad thought it would be blocked, but was totally safe and still working!
BUT
make sure that
!) you remember your iCloud mail and pass.
!) they will send a code to your phone by SMS
!) it takes like 2 hours so make sure ur phone has good battery.
