Why they made all the Genie's signature moves 100% accurate for rain only and not a different weather for each is a mystery to me, doesn't rain have enough moves with the same benefit? Landorus could've been the sand sweeper this gen needed...
Bleakwind Storm's dex description in both Legends: Arceus and Scarlet/Violet describes it as "Savagely Cold Winds" and in Arceus it could cause Frostbite, it was clearly designed to be a Winter storm attack, why tf doesn't it get perfect accuracy in Snow??? Clearly it should have been: Tornadus - Bleakwind Storm - Snow Landorus - Sandsear Storm - Sand Thundurus - Wildbolt Storm - Rain Enamorus - Springtide Storm - Sun
In Legends Arceus they all caused status effects, but for some reason they didn’t put Frostbite in SV, so one of them causing freeze would be too broken. Now there’s no consistency and some of them cause stat drops while other cause status effects. They got lazy with carrying these moves over.
Gigaton Hammer is the funniest thing they’ve put in a pokemon game, with Tinkaton herself at a close second. 160 BP, 100% accurate, physical steel type move is insane. Not being able to use it in concession isn’t too big of a deal, since you can just protect or click another move. Not to mention, Tinkaton gets stab to boost its power even further. Only thing holding it back is Tinkaton’s bad attack stat. It’s still really funny though.
Yes, but they also introduces an arguably even more broken move. An effectively 200bp move with 90% accuracy, and the mon that has it has an ability that makes it effectively 300bp. Also said mon has a seprate move to both boost it's attack and speed by 1 stage, and also clear hazards at the same time.

Petition to give octolock to every single octopus or squid pokemon and then give all of them octazooka and then buff octazooka to 70 BP 100 accuracy, nastiest stall shit on the earth and would be extremely funny
I always thought that Octazooka should have been a 120 bp Hydro Pump variant, and not be matched by freaking Bubble Beam in power. You know, being named after a bazooka (or straight up a tank cannon in JP) and all. Yes, it would be extra strong on Kingdra. No, I don't care. Let it be busted.
Honestly, while it isn't signature exactly, I'd love to see Topsy-turvy mentioned. Only the Grapploct and Malamar lines get it, and if you use a Focus Sash, one use of the move can completely annihilate Setup Sweepers. I have considered running Malamar on Showdown sometimes because of this.
I’ve been running it in trick room w caly-I and hisuian goodra. Definitely takes a lot of support and good positioning, but seeing Draco meteor go brrr is really fun.
It should activate off of any move, and then give Turt +1 Defense when the trap is being set. It still would be anti-physical, but not be so niche that it you have to always run an extra Fire-type move like Flamethrower alongside it and waste a moveslot. It would also synergize very well with Body Press, giving it a niche of having a somewhat offensively inclined way to boost its Body Presses as opposed to being completely passive with Iron Defense.

@Dragonstorm1234 Mystical Power is pretty trash, though. Azelf would rather just use Psychic not only because of its higher initial bp, but also because for some _ungodly reason_ they gave Mystical Power only 90% accuracy. In the same generation they made a move like Torch Song for a starter mon. Mystical Power could have been 100 bp and 100% accurate, and I guarantee Azelf still wouldn't rise beyond UU. My favorite signature move has to be Fire Lash, Heatmor's signature move that it got 2 gens later just to be blatantly stolen by Salazzle. She doesn't even run it because it's physical but haha horni lizard goes bdsm
Grapploct is such an interesting pokemon man. Access to not just octolock, but circle throw and topsy-turvy give it the position of a dynamic utility pokemon that can control your opponents stat changes and swaps. If they gave it mach punch or storm throw, the two fighting moves ideal for technician, I'd expect to see it at least 1 tier up solely for fucking with the opponents gameplan.
btw I think it'd be cool to do a video on signature moves that became not signature, like topsy-turvy in this instance not being a Malamar line exclusive. Maybe speculate who'd be the most fucked up pokemon to get moves that are no longer signature
Octolock is so good that my vgc team in gen 8 using grapploct actually saw some degree of success even with the atrocious stats of my favorite judo octopus. Stalling a turn on a trapped opponent turned alot of close to kill moves into kill moves and caught people off guard (especially considering it also ran soak). Main issue was the plague gamefreak added in the form of urshifu. No way to stall a turn or two for defense drops against that cancer.
galarian moltres is an oomfie i vibe with them a lot (fellow dark/flying type, i suppose, but also i don't really like iron jugulis so idk) octolock actually keeps lowering defenses, not just for 3 turns (you're probably confusing it with syrup bomb's effect) also obligatory mention of grapploct being remembered by anyone in existence

I never rlly knew what galarian slowking does because I never played thegaar dlc, I just learned about chilly reception the other day and now the pokemon makes sense to me! Same for galar moltres
for me, the weirdest signature move was Rock Wrecker, it's essentially the Rock/Physical version of Hyper Beam, and it WAS EXCLUSIVE to rhyperior in gen 4 and it learnt it at like level 70 for some reason and then in gen 5 they gave it to the Crustle line
I remember when people were sleeping on chilly reception, its really powerful with hardly any downsides. Literally just physically bulkier ice types... You're never going to face an ice type that isn't so frail the defense buff really increases survivability (anymore)
Landorus-I is absolutely insane because Sandsear Storm is boosted by Sheer Force + Life Orb. What’s more is it can learn Gravity which removes the accuracy problem from Storm AND Focus Blast for a little while (while ALSO removing immunity to Ground). It’s even better in doubles since it’s a spread move while another ally can run Gravity.
Honestly the first move I thought of when watching this video is revival blessing. The most broken move in the game, allowing a pokemon to gain back half its hp after fainting, all without using an item
I like to use Glowking Chilly Reception to both pivot and set up snow to take advantage of ice types gaining a Sp. Def boost. Still weird that a Poison-Psychic type has a move that sets up snow.
I kind of wish accelrock wasn't the signature move of Lycanrock So many hard hitting rock types like Rhyperior,Rampardos and Tyranitar would love to have a priority rock move
I'd say the 10 increase between Dark Pulse and Fiery Wrath matters quite a bit in singles too. Going from 80 to 90, it just crosses the threshold of going from an okay STAB to a good STAB.
There will always be Kadabra's "Flash but with spoon" signature move Kinesis, which has never been updated to be more interesting even as Flash at least became accurate and marginally useful in singleplayer. Triple arrows, hisuian decidueyes signature is also one of the most ridiculous moves ever that was given to a really bad Pokémon. It’s a 90 power 100 accurate move that has a high crit rate, 30% flinch rate, and has a 50% defense drop rate. Insane move on a very bad Pokémon
If I had a dollar for every signature move that carried a Pokemon over the edge. I'd have four dollars. Which is crazy. Why? Because Shed Tail, Rage Fist, Last Respects, and Dire Claw are all absolutely ridiculous.
dark void, geomancy, wicked blow/surging strikes (urshifu would be broken without these still but the free crits never hurt) you'd have a bit more than 4 dollars, plus theres definitely others im not thinking of either
Assault Vest on Glowking wouldn't work since Chilly Reception is classified as a Status Move, as you pointed out in the correction comment. For GlowBRO, however, Assault Vest could be ideal if it wasn't running Teleport or Nasty Plot. It would boost its tanky defences while still allowing hard-hitting moves to punch holes in bulky Fairy types like Grimmsnarl or Sylveon with its signature move having adaptive damage, and be able to take hits in turn. But, it does miss out on running extremely satisfying Calm Mind or Nasty Plot. The trade off is a few turns of setup for sweeping over having higher defenses from the start, in exchange for middling to high damage output depending on EV spreads. I would posit that the fact Chilly Reception can cancel out/override weather set up by things like Sand Stream, Drought, Drizzle and so on, as well as benefit Ice Types on the player's side and boost Ice Type moves that would hit Glowking's Ground weakness very hard actually makes it ideal over Teleport. Even if it's only temporary and doesn't do damage over time like Hail used to, it still opens up lots of enticing strategic options, especially with Tera Types still being in play at the time of relevance. Chilly Reception has insane potential; I use it on my Trick Room team to have my Storm Drain Gastrodon with Ice Beam come in to obliterate opposing threats to Glowking in Doubles like Ground and Steel types, and wall them due to Gastrodon's absurdly good defenses despite it's glaring weakness to Grass. In Trick Room, it thrives and can reliably overtake Pokemon it would normally fold to. It's a bit of a hat trick, admittedly, but it's extremely satisfying to pull off when it works. I usually have my Glowking hold a Sitrus Berry, because it can effectively heal twice in one turn if the berry activates on the same turn I switch out with Chilly Reception. I had a battle recently where that very thing happened, and it almost brought Glowking back to full HP. He was able to come back in and set up Trick Room twice that battle because of it. It was incredibly fun.
Assault Vest on Glowking wouldn't work since Chilly Reception is classified as a Status Move, which invalidates Assault Vest's effect. Assault Vest takes effect whenever the Pokemon holding it only knows attacking moves. Given Glowking's role in this case as a pivot (or in my case, a Trick Room setter/pivot,) Assault Vest would not work. For GlowBRO, however, it could work wonderfully. I believe that's what you meant to say. And maybe you did, given the pace you talk in these short videos, I don't blame you if I missed it.
One of the more interesting moves imo is Zoroark’s signature (till Sun & Moon) Night Daze, a 95% accurate, 85 basepower Dark Type move with a 40% chance to drop accuracy. Lunala being the ONLY other pokemon that shares the move. Why do I find it interesting? Because it’s actively a more powerful move than Dark Pulse, putting a far higher chance of forcing headway against an opponents team EVEN after Zoroark is defeated with a negative accuracy. (This is more based around my experience in Singles on Showdown, however I still find it interesting. The only, and I mean ONLY reason people use Dark Pulse over it is BECAUSE Zoroark outs itself that way, with it’s signature move. But when has Zoroark fooled anyone for more than a turn? In this thesis I will-)
I kind of dislike the idea of signature moves. On the other hand i wouldn't want to deal with ceaseless edge or salt cure spam. But on the other hand mountain gale, toxic thread and zing zap could just be normal moves. Maybe some really bad mons could get some of the absurd moves, looking how it worked out for dunsparce it wouldn't make the mons broken.
I mean almost no signature move stays signature, but it's odd how long they take to un-signature them sometimes. Lately they're almost actively refusing to do so

Why? Because Shed Tail, Rage Fist, Last Respects, and Dire Claw are all absolutely ridiculous.
dark void, geomancy, wicked blow/surging strikes (urshifu would be broken without these still but the free crits never hurt)
you'd have a bit more than 4 dollars, plus theres definitely others im not thinking of either
Shed tail and last respects aren't signature moves
Fiery Wrath is Dark-type Rock Slide that doesn't miss
Just a reminder that smeargle still has the most OP signature move ever.
Inb4 people start running hypersspace fury smeargle
We all know that the best signature move is not astral barrage or glacial lance.
It is branch poke
True
Fiery wrath is simply a dark pulse for VGC
if one is glowking then the other is klowking
Shocked to see no mention of Fishious Rend. It's the main reason Dracovish is able to hit like a nuke.
Arctovish also learns fishious rend, thats probably why the person didn't talk about it in the video
I love light that burns the sky and oblivion wing because they sound cool and are on my favorite guys
I love how you include at least one fuck in every video
1:09 thats a very funny looking Darkrai...
Maybe I gotta start using moltres... when i get better IVs for it 💀
Assault Vest on Glowking wouldn't work since Chilly Reception is classified as a Status Move, which invalidates Assault Vest's effect. And maybe you did, given the pace you talk in these short videos, I don't blame you if I missed it.
hold on, say kyurem again
Topsy Turvy for all octo and octo like Pokémon.
Beak Blast is a really great move that its locked with Toucannon, but in a metagame like stabmons ,cof cof landorus , its really powerfull!
In this thesis I will-)
DUDUNSPARSE WILL PIERCE THE PROTECTS WITH ITS DRILL! BELIEVE IN THE YOU THAT BELIEVES IN DUDUNSPARSE
I hate myself but this video is epic
I kind of dislike the idea of signature moves.
On the other hand i wouldn't want to deal with ceaseless edge or salt cure spam.
But on the other hand mountain gale, toxic thread and zing zap could just be normal moves.
Maybe some really bad mons could get some of the absurd moves, looking how it worked out for dunsparce it wouldn't make the mons broken.
I mean almost no signature move stays signature, but it's odd how long they take to un-signature them sometimes. Lately they're almost actively refusing to do so
Talking about Chilly Reception while running Assault Vest? Am I missing something or doesn’t that not work?
it doesn't. i missed that mistake while recording and it was way too late to rerecord it. added a visual correction but should've done something audibly too.
@@ElectricWindGirlFriend ah ok! I thought there might be something I’m missing. That’d be pretty OP using AV with a weather pivot move
Dunno if I misunderstood, but did you say Assault Vest works on Galarian Slowing? Doesn't that prevent it from using Chilly Reception?
Hoopa-U is OU in National Dex so it cant be that bad lol
Grapploct and a partner with Contrary was an okayish gimmick team in sword and shield.i thought
What if you wanted to hit an 80-85% acc spread move, but Arceus said you missed both?=
0:45 you can't use AV and Chilly Reception together
yeah, i somehow recorded that without setting off alarm bells. i added a visual correction in the slides but kinda wish i had some something audibly.
Is there anyway to get captions? While your speech rate adds to the charm, I would like to go back and be able to understand what is being said in your videos.
0:55 You say it like Pimpnite.
I'm waiting for hydreigon to get fickle beam ik he deserves it.
Hol up. Who calls kyurem “kairem”
Yveltal vs galarian moltres
Good content
Neat
Fiery wrath is not that good lol
Pls fix thx
