It'll be interesting how this will compete w/ other "outdoor" SUVs like the 4runner & Land Cruiser. Over all, I think Honda did a great job w/ this Trim & was a smart move by them. Saw this at the Philly auto show in person and it is a really great looking SUV.
Only issue I saw by some commenters was the J35 engine issues from the past. This is the new J35Y8 possibly with the kinks worked out? Rather not look at one until years from now with full reviews.
Honda did a good job here, I think. Love the looks, the NA V6, and non-CVT. And love the color options. Will save final judgement until I get a test drive in, but so far checking a lot of boxes!!
No way. I love my '21. So much better than this mess. And if the interior is like my '24 Pilot, and it looks exactly like it, it's cheap plastics and uncomfortable seats.
I have the 21 and lives to the old Honda Reputation. Change the oil. Rotate the tires. Good to go for 1000 of miles. I can not wait to see and drive this one.
@brendandeas7093 That is what I thought. I noticed several manufacturers have hidden the fact that they no longer offer Homelink. They could, at least, offer it as an extra pay option, but they don't even do that.
It has all bells and whistles but no reclining rear seats. Have you been in an 8 hrs road trip seated at the rear? Let us know how uncomfy is that vs with reclining.
I think Honda got out of hand with all the passport trailsport branding. Makes it look gawdy. The 2022 Honda passport trailsport looks much better i think. The only thing i wish the 2022 had was the panoramic moonroof
Why are you not sure about Honda SUV or Truck. The Honda Pilot has been around for decades. The Honda Ridgeline Pickup Truck has been around almost 2 decades. The Acura MDX has been around since 2001. This is a sibling to Pilot shares a lot of parts features.
Honda has to do something to distinguish the Passport from being just a two-row Pilot and to compete with the Ford Bronco. But yesterday you showed us the base-level GMC Terrain that had that huge iPad style center screen and a 12-inch driver display, here again Honda is way behind.
@ Just because you can afford to pay cash for a car doesn't mean the car your buying is a smart choice. If you save up 100k and spend 55k of it on car, that's pretty dumb.
People like you are so annoying. You do realize we arent in the 90s-00s anymore right? Literally no SUV cost less then that. You can barely get a sedan for cheap. Cars are expensive. Get over it
This will price itself out from the Pilot. The prices will be way too close and might as well go with the Pilot. That being said, no Elite trim? Just Trailsport Elite?!?!
Correct...three trims: RTL (base with no Trailsport), Trailsport (mid), Trailsport Elite (high; previously "Elite" or "Black"). I'm interested in a two row with lots of rear cargo space, so it's Passport for me, not the Pilot. Yes, pricing will be somewhat similar though, considering it's the same engine, transmission, and wheelbase. Passport is only a few inches shorter overall.
That was Honda's intent to streamline the Passport trim to only 3 choices. It's marketed different from Pilot. People that have Pilot TrailSport don't get all the fancy features in it like Elite or Black Edition Pilot.
The current Pilot with exception of TrailSport Pilot do not have off-road tuned suspension. They also do not have the Trail Logic AWD program. All Passport trims have this. The Pilot Elite and Black Edition trims have Heads-Up Display. The Passport Elite does not get this feature. So that's about $2,500.
awww gawdd thats atrocious.. what happened to Honda? Their design went kaput. That looks like a stubby pilot with a ford bronco sport rear slapped on the back.. yikes!!!!
Why are Honda cars so boring tho? Only a 12 inch screen??? Boring!!!! Ain’t no hot gurl gonna take a second look at this boring car!!!! Best step up that game boo boo if you want even a chance at maybe getting a taste of these chocolate yams!!!!!!!
Hyundai did survey people want less screens where you have to operate features going into screens. The Honda Pilot sales for 2024 were better than Palisade and Telluride
2026 Honda Passport In my opinion, the car is not for rough terrain at all. What do Honda engineers want? Sell the car at a high price and it does not serve its purpose. I think this is another failure of this car and no one dares to see it or buy it.
People are so fixated on hard-core off-roading climbing dirt hills ect. They forget about going fishing, skiing, surfing, hunting, towing jet skies small boat camping trailer. This is who will buy as well as average daily driver.

Legend has it that no Passport has escaped that studio.
Every review seems to be from that same spot
It sure seems that way 🤣
😅😅😅😅😅😅😅 facts. At least change the background..lol
lol. True
Although not body-on-frame so not nearly as capable, this looks so much better than the new 4Runner
The new Honda passport looks so good and I did some research on the rear tail lights it's going to be a fully LED design
I actually prefer the look of the previous gen(current). I think this newer boxier design will push a lot of female buyers away. Time will tell.
@@evanwilliams4920Chevy has been selling that taillight design for years.
It’s gonna have incandescent rear turn signals. Redline Reviews’s video highlights that
From the many reviews I've seen and comments people love it.@evanwilliams4920
@@evanwilliams4920female buyers (or husband buyers for them) are flocking to the new Lexus GX because of that boxy design
Can't wait for the test drive vids.
Coming soon!
Has this been delayed…feel like it’s been out for a while
Kentucky has hills, rocks, trails, & fields to drive em to the limit. I like that Honda is trying new stuff. stay warm guys.
It looks perfect, I love the design.
I hope they bring this design to the Ridgeline!
Great engine choice. I'm sure everyone eyeing similar style vehicles are very interested. I don't do off-roading, but I do need a tough winter car.
I don't think they are going to be able to make these fast enough to meet demand.
All depends on price. If they pull a Toyota, there will be many sitting on lots once the initial rush is over.
@@HelplmAliveThis for sure. Those kinds of dealerships deserve to go out of business.

I never skip a Honda Passport video
The branding team went a little overboard. Didn’t need “PASSPORT” plastered everywhere. Less is more.
Yeah! And i don’t like the weird vent thing at the front
Agreed. It looks tacky and is a major turnoff for me.
Coping Hyundai and Kia with the name plastered
Yes, particularly when the accent darkening. Is that standard on Elite? Don’t like it.
Looks great! Can't wait for the redesigned Ridgeline which should look similar.
Oh yeah we ready, I think the Ridgeline is due for a redesign!
Any word as to when it will be unveiled?
@minhn2888 The 1st Quarter of 2025 as 2026 model. So that's any time now January about gone so it could be February or March.
Only issue I saw by some commenters was the J35 engine issues from the past.
This is the new J35Y8 possibly with the kinks worked out?
Rather not look at one until years from now with full reviews.
Glad you got to this. I am looking to buy wen it becomes available.
Hope that pano roof can get a delete option looking to equip a RTT on it
Fantastic video!😸
Thanks, Ryan!
Honda did a good job here, I think. Love the looks, the NA V6, and non-CVT. And love the color options. Will save final judgement until I get a test drive in, but so far checking a lot of boxes!!
I dislike how all the car manufacturers show you their vehicles 6-10 months before you can actually buy one..frustrating!
I wish this was the passport back in 2021 when I purchased one… I ended up trading it in… if this was the model I had, I would have still had it
No way. I love my '21. So much better than this mess. And if the interior is like my '24 Pilot, and it looks exactly like it, it's cheap plastics and uncomfortable seats.
When will it be at dealerships?
Honda says around March
Looks great
I’m really digging it I hope Honda makes the pilot trailsport elite (fingers crossed) 🤞
Is this possibly the return of the Element? The rear end reminds me of the element.
Love it in the reddy-orange color.
Does this still have Cylinder Deactivation? Lot of issues with that.
It looks great!!
Now if they could ever get on with the release.. and have it avail
THIS VIDEO AND THE PASSPORT AND THE NEW TRIM AND EVERYTHING ELSE ABSOLUTELY HITS!!!
Nice review.
Thanks!
I'm hoping that the 2026 Pilot is upgraded too. Usually, Honda dose a MMC at 4 years of production.
I prefer an SUV that looks more sport than off-road. But this is a nice looking one anyway, felt friendly and reliable.
Will this one also not have Sirius XM?
YAYAY I LOVE IT
Beats the new 4runner by miles. Let’s just hope that it’s not overpriced and no dealership thievery.
Which wheels come with the TS Elite? You showed both the all black ones (on the green PP) AND the black/aluminum ones (on the orange PP)?
Any lift kits other than spacers. This thing another two inches of ground clearance.
What city in California were you in with this passport?
nice car
Did Honda explain why they aren't installing satellite radio anymore? Running XM through the app on Android Auto is horrible.
Too many stamped "PASSPORT" logos... Cheapens the look...
I have the 21 and lives to the old Honda Reputation. Change the oil. Rotate the tires. Good to go for 1000 of miles. I can not wait to see and drive this one.
This over the new 4 Runner.
Hondas AWD has always left something to be desired.
Only two things that gets me, the fake hood vent. Also, wish Honda would go back to a regular gear selector. It’ll be perfect IMHO.
What happened to the Homelink on the new Passport? That is one thing that would be a must-have for me.
I have a 2024 CRV, they took homelink out of them also in favor of an app. My garage isn’t WiFi so I paid $500 to upgrade the mirror to Homelink.
@brendandeas7093 That is what I thought. I noticed several manufacturers have hidden the fact that they no longer offer Homelink. They could, at least, offer it as an extra pay option, but they don't even do that.

After 5 hours you dont care if its reclining or not, everyone will be as sleep drooling
Speaking of traffic in Los Angeles, was this video filmed before or after the wildfires affected California?
This was filmed beforehand
@CarConfections I thought so. I just wanted to know for sure. Thanks. 😊
Hope they make the new RDX out of it
Think you meant to say printed prominently in back, not predominantly.
Yep 😂
I wouldn't spend $50.000 on this Honda, are they crazy?
I think Honda got out of hand with all the passport trailsport branding. Makes it look gawdy. The 2022 Honda passport trailsport looks much better i think. The only thing i wish the 2022 had was the panoramic moonroof

You had me until that stupid pushbutton shifter. Complete dealbreaker.
Nothing wrong with it.
👋
Will there be a non-Trailsport, Elite version?
There will not be. You will have to get the Pilot to get a regular Elite.
Needs much more ground clearance. That thing is soo low
Yea you need all that ground clearance to get you to la fitness every day and your 9-5
About $36,000
Try about $11,000 more for base trim. They say $47,000 base price.
