- i ran into this car in facebook marketplace and could not pass on this deal! This is the story about how I ended up picking up a MR2 UNEXPECTEDLY.
I mostly drive american made cars I have heard tons about the AW11 MR2. The 4age powered two seater is nothing short of iconic, and when I saw this chance I did not hesitate. Now the question becomes: What should I modify/restore? What is the best way to keep this car fun, but also a good daily driver.

toss some 15x7 +35 wheels with 205 50 15 tires on it and make it an autocross car! looks like the fenders have been repainted at some point but a lot of the original single stage is still there. they are great cars, I have a personal record of 39.5mpg in my 85.
that deal is insane im trying to get one and you did a great job picking that one up with barely any body damage too

Nice find! I found one that didn't run for 20 years, got it running in 4 days and drove it since. Well ofc it needed a bunch of other things, but I've loved it. Now I think the engine is crapping itself so I'm thinking of sticking a 2zz and having a ball.
That would be tons of fun!
Would you say this is a good project car? I don’t know much about cars but I want to learn about the process and what goes into a car and I really like the style of an Mr2. But I don’t know if it’s “beginner friendly”.
Any car can be a good project car! It’s all about how much effort you’re willing to put into a project, & if you like the Mr2s then get one! My only advice would be to not buy the cheapest one, try to get a project that’s not too beat up. Goodluck!
