The first listen I was unsure how I felt. But after the third time or so, I was hooked. And for some reason, IMO anyway, the non MV version without the pause makes it flow better. It isn’t that big of a difference to some but I actually think it makes it better. Anyway-I knew this would be a weird one for you guys haha. Thank you for reacting 😊

This was the first time I've seen the MV. I had only listened to the track. That extra pause in the MV made the switch up even more jarring than in the song only version. I think i would've had a harder time with it if I had seen this first. I like the song overall. Completely different bridges are the bread and butter of kpop, so I just rolled with it.
My problem with the song is that I felt as if it didn’t have a hook to catch the audience with. It was such a wild ride that by the ending, I was overwhelmed and couldn’t really remember the song sonically. I understand with new groups coming out left and right that it is hard for new groups to stand out but they threw everything and the kitchen sink in with the song and visuals causing the girls to get lost in the mix. Despite hating the song, I totally agree with wanting to keep an eye out for them because they have the chops to be amazing, like the choreo and their vocals are obviously there, I just hope that next time the ending picture is more clearly executed in the song.

PD from form of therapy described it really well.They described it as sm will have many songwriters work together whereas jyp probably had many songwriters and then and in house person just mash it together

The difference with Next Level is that if you watch NL on mute, you can recall the melody. This is like... agjjrfkgwegfgg. Tbh, I don't think anybody's attacking the girls. Considering the material they released before debut, we know what they can do and as usual with that label's groups, they seem to have great stage presence, but JYP did them dirty.
P.S.-Their other song is a Dem Jointz bop, so there's no way to screw that.
@@incheonguy First of all, that’s not true. The original next level doesn’t have the two sections that were added with the vocals. Second, even if it was a direct copy of the original, it’s still a far better song than whatever this was.

IMO, Tank would've been a better single. It was already in the trailer/teaser and it seems like the internet caught on with freaky fishy chorus. This group has potential based on what I've seen with vocals, visuals and dancing. As for this song, JYP definitely took a playbook out of Aeaspa's transitions/in's and out's.

watching an actual performance with the choreography is a lot better, but yeah this was not that great of a debut. Still looking forward to their next release though.

nope. not at all. You are just conditioning yourself to accept it.. Stop this trend. If you don't like something don't force yourself to listen to it. If you bit into something and it tastes like crap are you going to keep eating it until you can say "hey this is delicious"? No you aren't, so stop doing that with music. Listen if you like it, like it if you don't, just accept that it is not for you..

of course u will get used to it, u are listening a thousands of times and with a mindset of "I want to like it", even tho ur original and more realistic reaction at first was "WTF IS THIS SHIT". Thats like eating shit/poop all day for an entire year, at the end you will eat poop and enjoy it lol
To me it looks more like a skill-flexing we-are-aces-in-everything song and stuffs like that. Something like this you usually introduce in the predebut era to showcase before but they seem to tie in with that concept as part of their debut and mess it up even more with the apparently forced coke part.

From what I seen, alot of ppl are coming at jyp. I think if yall got time, you should look more into the similarities cause it goes beyond the mv and that's jyp's doing.

i didn't like it, but that "watch out baila baila baila" is stuck in my head. i will say that it's definitely a song that is meant to be listened to as you watch the performance, dance practice, stage, etc. not a song to sit and listen to unless you're actively envisioning a performance. but i will say. i love it. i dunno, it's so weird but i love the dark section. i do wish these were separated and the debut would've had three total songs, but that's just cus i know they would've been strong enough to stand on their own as separate songs. but as of right now, i like this song

Choreo, costuming, and vocals absolutely on point. The song was like two completely different tracts though, that I could not reconcile. I totally agree that the girls could hardly have any say at all in the project, so folks should put the blame for all the similarities to other groups and projects where it belongs -- their company's creative control. For a debut, this was disastrous. Debuts need to be an introduction and have a hook for those that know nothing of a group (not those already invested stans since trainee days). Nothing stood out beyond the messiness of the song. The only member that shined (for me) during the "bridge", was the one that hit that super sharp (and unpleasant) note which is not what you want. Everyone now wants to do the experimental hybrid songs but there is an ART to those. Can't just throw things at a wall and see what sticks. I hope JYP redirects and refines the aural concept for these ladies. They deserved a better debut.
It won't be perceived as disastrous because it has already become one of the best selling debuts of all time, over 200,000 sold and counting. To JYPE, that's a huge success.
On top of that, they are being pretty constantly talked about. Regardless of your opinion of the song, its staying in public perception.

LOL it was not disastrous at all. From a pure sales and MV views standpoint this is the MOST SUCCESSFULL debut for any JYP Girl group in the history of JYPE. PERIOD> THE MOST SUCCESSFUL. The song may not be getting streams on Korean platforms at the moment and that can easily be remedied once they get on Music shows and radio shows and start promoting it, and doing stages, singing it and introducing it.. That's how the GP in Korea is made aware of things. Those who don't stan a company and follow every press release. They tune into to music shows, or talk radio.. Streams will come, wait for it. It is quite silly for you to call this a disastrous debut, when the sales and views say the exact opposite. You did not like the song, I did not like the song. But as a debut, it was 1000% a huge success.
I kinda feel like it was trying to be a nod to a bunch of other groups, and then trying to show off their different skills, but it was just a lot and didn’t quite work. But they have soooooo much potential.
@@oliverhughes610 that's cause they're from the big3, they could've made a song with 3 minutes of silence and it would still sell well. ppl needs to stop acting like sales means quality. no one's gonna bother listening to O.O once this era is over and the next comeback rolls around because the song has no longevity. if the big3 keep making shitty music, the smaller companies are gonna follow their steps thinking that's what the audience wants and that's the worst part about the direction kpop is going these days.
Just be transparent bro, if its good, its good, and if its not, its not. I wanna see the honest reaction on what they can improve rather to make it more better for their next comeback and not just based on Big agency or Small agency because some afraid of fandom backlash but somehow they start being honest if its small group agency and less fan supporting

I didn't have much of an opinion at first. Took me a couple listens to get a handle on it. Just sure it was gonna stir some sht up fr. I really like it now and I'm excited for their future. They got the talent from what little we got in the 3 minutes

Honestly, they have so much potential. They just need the right guidance, cause even just having better management could’ve prevented a lot of the issues they ran into.
these kind of two whole different songs in one track thing has never really been my cup of tea, so not surprised I don't like it. but tank is great! im looking forward to that MV, hope y'all can react to that one when it comes out :) thanks again for your reactions always

I noticed a comment on form of therapy’s channel that summed it up pretty well and that is this song pretty much about… nothing. The lyrics don’t mean anything, it almost gibberish. The dancing is great and two sections would be great as two different songs.
Tank was a better song than this, They should have gone with that, at least that had consistency.
According to JYP Entertainment, NMIXX is meant to bring a new side to K-Pop, pioneering a new style of music called “MIXX POP” that blends different types of music together.

It sounds better on spotify without the long pause but I agree with the light skinned man. The vocals on the first part and last part of the song were bad. Like the tone was off and the melody as a whole was boring and didn't go nowhere. Very monotone if you will. The vocals during the pop rock section however were much better. There were highs and lows, and the melody was catchy bubble gum pop perfection. I don't mind the experimental aspect of the song, I just wish they put more effort into the song's quality.

It wasn't bad...I think editing should have been better. Too much going on at one time to process....I think they are trying to be Blackpink asap. I don't hate it but ...this style isn't for everyone.
It’s a bad song and you don’t have to feel bad for not liking it. You should listen to their other song Tank as it is MUCH better. No shade to the girls at all as their vocals, visuals and choreo were on point. 👏👏👏 JYP should learn a lesson from this and do better for these girls when they have a comeback. 🤨
The problem with the song and the video is I don't know and it seems they don't know who their target audience is.. I do know it is not me with this song. Luckily for the group and jype it is selling better than they could have hoped for, and the MV is getting views (even if its from toxic antifans crying that it's copying parts of others, they are watching, rewatching, telling everyone to watch it because it is some how "stolen", pretty illogical to send views to something you have a problem with). They will get streams and chart in Korea as soon as they get on the music shows and do some stages.. So successful debut, regardless of how messy this song and video are. Good for them. I hope they figure out who they want to target for their fans soon, I listen to Twice because I can understand the music and videos. I am ALL about whatever ITZY does, because I get the message, I get the video and they are awesome. I won't be listening to Nmixx until they give me something I like, to listen to...
If you don't like a song on 1st listen, its not a good song for you. Many company "stans" these days can't accept that something isnt good and listen over and over and over until they manage to hypnotize, or convince themselves, they like it and its not bad, or it's good. All they are doing is dulling their preference down so they can accept what they really don't like... That is a sad trend in Kpop as of late... It's going to continue too, with companies starving fans of music or albums or comebacks for a year OR MORE, so that when something comes out (like a starving person) the fans will eat it up and tell you and everyone it's delicious even if it is bad or just not that good. It's a sad state right now.
Some people are saying this wasn't really a "song" but a teaser that mixed 3 songs and 3 genres to show that the group can do any type of music with no problem, if that's the case, just say so. Presenting this as a single cohesive song when it is not a cohesive song is not a great idea. When they have a comeback, I will give the a short listen if they don't jump up and grab me with some good music I will just accept that I am not their target demographic.

Some people need to stop praising this song and be real with it, some people actually dont like this song and they say they like it cause they are hard stans of the girls. If JYP see the positive comments he will keep doing this kinda sound for the girls and the girls will keep getting hate from general public, cause we are a majority that dont like this sound (when they do it wrong, cause next level from aespa was amazing, cause it was made good)

this messed up debut is JYP fault, the girls have anything to do. I hope JYP listen and read the hate comments and start making actual good music for these talented, beautiful and amazing girls. Or let them produce their own songs ffs.
Yeah this debut was a mess to me. There are elements that I like but this really feels like someone accidentally released a highlight medley instead of a single cohesive song. The mixing in the first third seems bad, the lyrics are VERY cringy, it's very clear that JYP ordered the aespa salad with a side of Loona fries and some Ateez dressing. I've seen some stuff from the girls and they seem talented but this debut didn't represent them well IMO.
Also, I thought the coke sponsorship was hilarious and dumb, but later there's a lyric that's like "Cuz everything is fake but I ain't a fake" like girl, the first 15 seconds of your debut drops a Coke ad... Don't play with me.

See my thing is that they tried to pull a Next Level and unfortunately it didn’t work. The first transition wasn’t great, but was good enough to work (if that makes sense), but the second transition was just bad and Lily’s high note with it (no offense to her) just made it worse…
